We booked Karen to photograph our wedding a little later than most people would, just 6 months before our wedding date. She quickly organized a face to face meeting where we spoke about the entire process. There are many things I had never thought of that Karen took the time to explain. She had us make a list of important shots for the wedding day. From there we worked directly with Karen to make the best timeline for the big day. Karen had many important tips that really made the whole day run smoother. She even helped me with a tear in my nylons!! It is important to also get engagement photos. Not so much for the actual photos but more for the act of being photographed and working with your photographer. Karen photographed us in our yard. She took time and talked with us to ensure she understood what we were looking for on the wedding day. The photos are better than I ever imagined they could be. We wanted the traditional family shots but we also wanted untraditional more artistic shots. Karen's photographs truly capture the dreamy, high-on-love feeling of our wedding day. She was so smooth we sometimes we forgot she was there. She documented every aspect of our wedding day from the favors and building facade, to every inch of my dress and every person in attendance.

She's great at capturing candid moments without being all up in your face. And we kept her going for hours and hours. She never seemed to get impatient or as exhausted as the rest of us. Even when it was freezing out, she didn't slow down, she just kept finding great shots and keeping it fun. Keeping it fun was key because neither my husband nor I like being the center of attention or being photographed all that much, so she made us both much more comfortable than we would've been otherwise. She's also great for getting photos to you quickly. My brother didn't get his wedding photos back from his photographer for months afterward which seems ridiculous. This is definitely not the case with Karen. I couldn't believe how quick she was getting photos back to us and they look amazing! My parents also loved her which is a nice bonus :).

She's amazing. She was so great to work with- she is funny, down to earth, patient, and knows her stuff. She even worked with our photo budget! She recommended several places to take photos around the city and I'm so glad we trusted her ideas rather than to try to plan our own. She was engaging and even though we had been to multiple spots, she kept suggesting more places to make sure we were completely happy. Her photos are amazing! She knows how to work a camera and get amazing results. She's fantastic. And the turnaround time was great too! I can't tell you how many compliments we've gotten on our engagement photos. My single friends have even asked me for her name for "when the time is right'. :) The only reason we didn't have Robyn shoot our actual wedding pictures was because we had a close friend shoot them in another state. But trust me, I was second guessing myself all the way up to our wedding day! Also, as a major plus, Roby's work has been featured on Style Me Pretty multiple days within this past year. She's definitely an up and coming photographer! Grab her while you can!

Her prices are very reasonable (she…read morecustom designs packages for each person and her prices start under $2000), her pictures are amazing, and she is extremely timely in posting your pictures (we received ours less than two weeks after our wedding). Robyn is a very laid-back person and really wants input from her clients, so make sure you know what you want. Robyn will make you look beautiful. (She herself, having just returned to Chicago from a stint in LA, is a very hip gal and on top of the fashion trends). We chose Robyn because the colors in her pictures are far and away better than anyone else in her price range. The pictures she takes look like they could be in a magazine. (But if you are looking for a more candid, photo-journalistic style, she might not be the person for you). One of the nice things about working with Robyn is that all her packages come with an engagement session. She likes to do these sessions so that she finds out each person's personality (and how to make them look good) and so that the couple meets her and knows her style before the day of the wedding. This definitely helped us get better pictures on our wedding day because we were all very comfortable with each other. Both my husband and I were very, very happy with Robyn.

Kindness. Chris & Becky were a dream team, and we really cannot say enough good things about them! From helping us set our 'day of' schedule, to making sure all our listed family pics were captured, to jumping in attaching boutonnieres, they went above and beyond to ensure a perfect day, and plenty of perfect pics!!! Full disclosure: my fiancé and I did not put as much effort into choosing photographers as we did other vendors (Francis Marie Photography was the only one we met with). The best news: we did not have to, and neither do you! Book them! They come at an incredible value and took no shortcuts: starting with us early in the day and staying well through the bouquet toss & late into our extended reception without missing a beat. We were so impressed by their professionalism, passion, and ease of manner. They were never imposing but made sure to capture all the essential moments, somehow finding that great balance between being subtle but central. They were quick to tweak poses and make great suggestions but were also completely flexible for spontaneous photo suggestions from the bride. Do yourself a favor and book Francis Marie Photography, you wont be disappointed!

They actually listen to the style of photography you are looking for and connect with you to make sure they can make your wedding the happiest day of your life! My wife Tina and I just recently got married Sept 19th and can't say enough about Francis Marie Photography. We had been recommended to meet with Chris and Becky and hit it off immediately, they are both so down to earth and have a great sense of humor. They listened to our concerns and even let us work our dog, Walter, into our photos! We wanted someone who could capture every single moment of our day and we got that and so much more. People actually thought Chris was part of my family by how well we got along with each other. Their style is incredibly accommodating to the expectations you set for them, we wanted photojournalistic with some artistic flair and man did they exceed our expectations. Almost every single family member wanted our photos for their family Christmas card, these pictures were so good. We will be able to relive our wedding everyday of our lives because of the hard work and effort they put into our wedding. We never had an issue with responses to our email questions or calls to check on status. Seriously stop searching all those sites and give this company a call you won't regret it. A few friends had passed on contact info for their favorite photographers around Chicagoland. I checked them all out and was shocked to see that most of them were around $500 for newborn photos, which at the time seemed a bit crazy to me since I think all newborns look alike. Or at least I used to think that until I gave birth to the cutest newborn ever...yeah, you could say I'm a bit biased. ;) I was also surprised that some of these photographers were booked 6 months out. Apparently there are people out there who plan even earlier than I do! I recalled that some friends had used Jen Soares for adorable pics of their kiddies so decided to shoot her an email. Jen had a few openings a few weeks after my baby's due date and she was $100 for a newborn session, which even includes a CD of all the final photos. I booked her immediately! When my baby was 2 weeks old Jen and her husband, Mike, showed up for our scheduled appointment with their cameras in hand. The baby was having a bit of a meltdown...and my hubby and I were doing our best to calm her down.Meanwhile, Jen and Mike worked their photographer magic and started snapping away! They were in and out within 30 minutes (which was about all we could handle at the time). Fortunately, in this short amount of time they managed to take a ton of cute photos of the baby alone, family shots and even of our pu! After they left I was a bit worried we wouldn't get any cute ones for a birth announcement since she was so hysterical, but we had so many good ones to choose from that I ended up using 4 photos on the birth announcement! While Jen has only been available on the weekends in the past, she just started doing photography full-time so she'll now be available during the week days as well. She mentioned in 2011 she'll be charging $100 for week days and $150 for weekends, which is still quite the deal. It's such a great deal that I'm planning on having her come back to take more photos every few months. And hopefully our baby will greet Jen and Mike with a smile next time!

We had some photo ideas/poses in mind and Jen suggested some as well and we just winged the rest. We LOVE how the pictures turned out and will treasure them always. I have nothing negative to say about the experience we had. We were very pleased and plan on using her again.

My family hired Carasco Photography for my husband's and my wedding which took place over Memorial Day weekend 2014. We initially found them through our venue, Germania Place, on the list of "preferred vendors" and decided to meet Scott and Cara in person to discuss our expectations and vision for the big day. From our first meeting in their awesome studio, it was clear to me that Scott and Cara not only have the credentials and experience as top-of-the-line wedding photographers but they were very helpful in getting me to articulate what my vision for the wedding was. They were very supportive from the time we started working with them (in March 2013 or so) through the day of and after the fact, when photos were developed and processed. We ended up booking Ryan, who is one of Cara and Scott's lead photographers. I cant say enough great things about Ryan; he has a great sense of humor, was easy to work with, and we never felt awkward around him (yep, not even during those "now stare longingly into each others' eyes" engagement photos). We had our engagement photos taken with Ryan and he was great; everyone was very impressed with the quality and breadth of the photos. The same was true for the wedding day, which went amazingly and which was perfectly captured by Ryan and his partner that day, Leland. There is not one photo opp I didnt get that I wish I had; Ryan captured everything and did so in a creative way that truly captured the spirit of the day. The photos were so good that, in fact, my mother who did not order a photo album as part of our photo package initially was so enamored with them that she immediately called Cara to order one. Bottom line: I highly recommend Carasco Photography for their wedding photo services. They are among the best in the Chicago area from a price and quality perspective and you will not be disappointed when you hire them! Cara, Scott, and Ryan: thank you so much for being so great to work with and for taking the most amazing photos for us.
