Was disappointed with this new restaurant. Positively- The restaurant is decorated nicely, the food was good and plentiful (fries/tater tots exceptional). However, the restaurant was cold (cold air coming from outlets) and service was slow. While this is a soft opening and most of these complaints will be remedied, the manager needs to be more professional. She was rude to me after I asked for my burger to be cooked longer. She took my plate to the chef and I could hear her from my table telling him that this is MEDIUM but SHE wants it cooked longer. Very rude. Funny thing is today at work some coworkers and I were discussing this new restaurant and both people complained about the manager. read more

After trying to get in on a Saturday evening which turned out to have a 30-35 minute wait, we decided to try a Sunday afternoon. Walked in and were seated right away. Having been a regular when it was the previous Reese's we were not surprised by the overall size and layout of the restaurant. Overall, we were very pleased with the atmosphere, service, menu and quality. Unfortunately, as others have stated in reviews, the restaurant was cold and it wasn't a sub-zero day. I mentioned the draft and cold temperature to our server but apparently nothing could be done to make it warmer. I asked if they could turn off the ceiling fans but that was not an option. The coolness caused the food to cool off rather quickly. My husband and I both ordered burgers and fries which came to the table very warm and tasty. As I am not a quick eater, the second half of my burger was cold by the time I ate it. Even as the restaurant filled up, the air temp remained cold. Sat with my coat on the entire time. Okay....enough on the air temp. Burgers were made as ordered, very good quality beef and a fresh roll making for a very tasty hamburger. Fries were seasoned but not overly....just enough. Nice selection on the menu. Service was pleasant, not overly attentive and acceptably prompt. Will definitely return but not until the outside temps warm up so it's not so cold inside! read more

Overall we had a pretty decent experience. Each person at our table ordered a burger and we all agreed that they are pretty good but wish there were other bread options as well as fresh cut fries. We also had the calamari and fried cheese curds, again pretty good but seemed overly greasy. They have a ton of beer choices from keystone to modelo which was cool to see. The place is very cramped and very loud and the service was very good but also quite slow. We will try again after they work out some of the new restaurant kinks. read more

Really fun place and the food is good! This was our second time at Cattleman's and our first time sitting outside. Our server was prompt and attentive. Jalapeño poppers were delicious as were the dinners. Only observation is that the drinks, which are in plastic cups (totally understand that they use plastic outside) were very small. I'm guessing they were 8 -10 oz plastic cups, which, when filled with ice makes a tiny drink. No worries, we'll be back...just an observation. read more

The new owners and staff are not attentive to the customers and give off a vibe that they don't want to be there. We were regulars under the old ownership who made us feel welcomed and if there was a wait, informed us on the table status. The severs were jovial and friendly, but that has all changed under the new owners. During a recent visit on a Friday night, one of the new owners was the hostess and gave the impression that they wanted to be doing anything else than being the hostess. She was not warm and inviting when we went to put our names in and provided no details on when a table would be ready. We observed several customers walk out because no one came to take their name or tell them how long the wait would be. The only server in the place with a smile on their face was the bartender who is hold over from the old ownership team. We witnessed servers who didn't smile and were not welcoming. They too gave off the vibe that if they could be anyplace else it wouldn't be here. Sadly we left and went to another restaurant in the area in which the service was 1000 times better. Customer service been the issue every time we have come to Cattleman's since the ownership change and unfortunately we will not be coming back. read more

Not sure where all these 4/5 star reviews are coming from. My burger was absolutely gross. My tomato slice was crispier than my bacon. No seasons in meat just overlybland. 14 dollars for the most bland boring burger. Go to red robin you'll be more satisfied. Server was nice atmosphere was nice. read more

Very over priced for mediocre food. My $14 patty melt didn't even have cheese or lettuce in it. Took a long time for the food to come out and they were not crowded. $70 bucks for a burger lunch is way out of line for the quality of food. $7 beers added to our balance but still way over priced. read more

I was here with two friends yesterday afternoon and was disappointed. The service was extremely slow. The waitress took our drink order and it took over 15 minutes for us to get them. We watched the bartender handling a food order and also handling cash. No hand washing in between. The owner sat in the corner chatting as well as another woman/worker in a knit hat was chatting with a couple of the tables. Neither of them assisted the understaffed situation. We were there on a Thursday night. It wasn't busy at all when we got there yet it took a while for someone to come to our table and offer us beverages. Service was spotty all night but our waiter what friendly and fun when he can't by. We both had burgers. My brothers was piled so high there was no way to eat it but with a fork and knife. The burgers are pricey, but they are huge and good. I enjoyed my sweet potato fries and liked the coleslaw as well. The place got very busy, which I was happy to see given The ongoing construction downtown Algonquin. Will definitely come back again and try one of those desserts our waiter bragged about. read more

Our entire experience was wonderful. The owner and our server went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. Our kids felt very welcome here and said the kids burgers were the best they've ever had. We really enjoyed the cheese curds, burgers and funnel cake fries. All were fantastic! Well, really trying to give this place a decent review because it is local to my area. However, just cannot do it. Been their several times..and the service varies. Usually, i eat at the bar..twice now i had mary..if your not a regular i guess, you are treated pretty indifferently..almost like you are interrupting her..this evening gave her my order..place was dead..waited waited then when my order came out it was wrong. ..she gave it away to her regulars..reordered it waited waited some more came out way overcooked...she comped one drink for wrong order.. The next time...different bar tender..good personality..placed order..as i was waiting i had two drinks..i looked at the tab...food came..i ordered another drink..when i went to pay all drinks went from $6 to $10. However we overheard a server at the next table was much more animated then ours and was very informative, wish we had him for our server. Just went there today Sunday Sept 19, 2021 around noon. There were a few groups eating outside in the front of the restaurant. The only other options to eat outside were in the alley which did not exactly look very inviting. Ugly tents over ugly tables with a few minor puddles here and there on uneven pavement. Felt like it could have been made to look nicer. The alleyway looked far less pleasing than the rest of the establishment, like an afterthought. My father and I opted for indoor seating. It appeared that the manager was seating us and was friendly for the 8 seconds he attended us. We were placed in a booth in the front section. There was one large table near us with about 8 people, perhaps one or two other booths on the side with people, and about half the bar had people. Not all that busy compared to the seating space available, or for any restaurant for that time of day. I did not see a lunch menu for smaller portions/prices. The only options for breakfast that I saw were on a small 'specials' sheet that was not part of the main menu. Their website shows many options for breakfast but were not present in the menu that was given to me. I could have missed it somehow so I will take another look next time I come back. Prices seem high; there are very few meal options under $15. This might be a fun place to go in the evening while bar hopping or something, but was not giving off any 'lunch joint' vibes. After we were seated we were given menus and left alone. As we were looking at the menu options, we waited for the server to come over and ask us about drinks and whatnot. So we waited. And waited some more; 12 minutes from the time we sat down to be exact. I started peering outside of my booth for any employee I could flag down, but I could not see any walking around. It looked like there was one employee behind the bar and I was about to walk over there and ask for help, but my father has very little patience for bad service. I could have waited longer without too much complaint, but my 1st impression made me wonder about the rest of the service we would receive. My father said we should just go to Short Stack across the street, so we did. The interior is lacking a bit in the lighting department. The hanging lamps for each booth were bright enough to read the menus, but not enough to make the place feel welcome or cheery. There were long strands of blue LED string lights hanging from side to side, throughout most of the restaurant. I thought they looked neat, but didn't seem to fit the overall aesthetic nor gave enough light to be useful. They might look better later at night when the bar gets more attention. The walls are covered in small length wood boards painted in various colors, as well as some random farm/ranch props hanging on them. It was trying hard to be a sort of 'modern/faux rustic'. Some of the lighting and fixtures gave off an 'old resale shop items' vibe instead of old school Texas BBQ/Steakhouse. The interior aesthetic attempted to combine a hip and rustic feel, and while not horrible looking, it still came off as a mishmash. ------------------------- I will go back and try them again sometime; I always give a place a minimum of 2 chances to make sure my observations are as accurate and unbiased as possible. One thing people forget is that even the cooks and servers have rough days. Reviewers aren't always perfect either so Cattlemans deserves another chance. My family and I went to Cattleman's for the first time last night. I was blown away by the food, the service and the atmosphere. Ben our server was over the top- the best waiter we have ever had! He knows his stuff- never wrote a thing down, remembered everything and was attentive to our needs the entire time. The food was absolutely amazing. We had the pork chops, burgers, salads, kids had pasta- all didn't disappoint! I would highly recommend this place. The atmosphere is kid friendly and the staff was great! Went in early 2021 and decided to try their special, which was ribeye...absolutely horrible. We asked for medium rare and received well done as well as a very thin piece of meat, which reminded me of going to Ponderosa back in the 80's. Their burgers have always been good so we will try once more but will not be ordering the steak! read more

Love their Saturday night prime rib. Their service is great. My husband is a big fan of their Fernando Steak Burger. Highly recommend!
