We called to schedule weeks ago and asked for an estimated price, we were told $300 and decided to move forward because we really enjoy the vet overall and have had a good experience thus far. Once we got there (he had taken the medication necessary too) we asked again how much they thought it would cost and said $425ish. We were confused and said oh, we called previously and were quoted $300, they asked if we had a written statement and of course no, we just called. At this point, our dog was already at the vet and had medication to prepare for the surgery, so we felt like we had to move forward. Well, when we picked him up, we were charged $530 for the procedure. Once we asked why it raised, they knocked off $40 for a shot they didn't even give him. If we hadn't asked, we would've paid for something that he didn't even receive. Again, I'm not posting this to be ridiculous or rude, I genuinely have enjoyed our experience with Applebrook. But this instance left us super frustrated and disappointed. I'm only posting a review because we had told them multiple times we were initially quoted $300, and left paying over $500. Just do better about transparent pricing please! On the plus side, the vet techs are very kind and love our dog. Their puppy package has been great for his first year, and I generally would recommend them! I hope this review is more helpful than harmful to Applebrook and their transparency for pricing & educating their staff on handling conversations like this to provide clarity.

I set up…read morean appointment and requested pain evaluation and anxiety evaluation as the dog is 10 years old and has worsening hip dysplasia and recent housing changes have caused her anxiety that's causing her to lash out at other dogs in the household. I have a behaviorist that is coming to the house to evaluate the situation between the dogs and make recommendations, and she asked that I have a pain and anxiety evaluation before her visit to the home. I made it clear that I could not make it to the appointment due to work and that I'd be having my ex bring our dog in, and to reach out if they have questions. They weren't allowed in the building due to construction, even though other dogs were coming in and out. They waited 45 minutes on the sidewalk for a tech to come out. Didn't even see the doctor. The tech did not evaluate for pain or for anxiety. The tech did not call me with questions that my ex couldn't answer. No evaluation at all, just wrote prescription for heartworm and flea & tick meds and sent them away. I called this morning to ask about the situation and spoke to the very tech that visited them on the sidewalk. He ignored the fact that I set up the appointment and made very clear what I needed at the appointment. Instead he kept reiterating that my ex didn't have all the information to questions that he had. He ignored that I had made specific examination requests. He ignored that I had already mentioned that I have a behaviorist. Regardless of what I said, he kept falling back on his own assumptions. Rather than listen he chose to be rude. We will no longer be visiting Zutilla clinic, which is a shame because previous visits have been great. This place has gone down hill significantly. Customer service be damned.

He was losing weight (not that he has much to lose) and his hair was falling out. He was taking his maximum dose of medication orally without much affectivness. SMVC suggested a cream that is applied to the bare skin of his ear vs a pill. It made a huge difference and while he's still super skinny, he gained a lb or so. Thank you!

He was a happy boy....then later on he ended up being diabetic...oh by the way I am talking about Dr summer Faith....she took care of us...and my boy made it a couple of happy years........

I have been bringing my Pomeranian to Groomingdales for over a year. She has to be groomed every…read morefive weeks, so I leave her in Groomingdales's care fairly often. They are always prompt, polite, and professional. I have never seen any of the staff speak to or handle a dog with anything but kindness. My Pomeranian always comes home looking great, smelling good, and in a cheerful attitude. She has never shown any signs of stress or fear after her visits. The staff always gives me an update on how she did, they have educated me to better care for her coat, and they have never done anything I didn't ask for. If they were unable or uncomfortable with doing something, the groomers always consulted with me on what I wanted and what they felt best, so we have never had any surprises when picking her up. You can rest easy while your pet is at Groomingdales, knowing they are being treated and cared for by loving and knowledgeable staff. If you're making your first appointment, you may have a wait, but it is worth it to get onto their schedule. I'd recommend calling a week or two in advance of when you think your pup needs to be groomed. We just schedule our next appointment when we are checking out and have never had a problem with appointments.

When I pulled up I noticed a frantic lady with a heavy labored fur baby in her lap. The pup was unconsolable. She said she had recently moved here. She had found the baby in distress when she arrived home and this vet was the first place she saw. I couldn't wait any longer I gave her my phone number and told her to call me if they couldn't help and I would give her other recommendations for urgent care. I actually told her how compassionate dr miller was and felt sure they would help her. I returned later that afternoon to pick up the meds for my pup and so I asked if they were able to help the lady and without hesitation she remarked in haste , "our sign clearly says by appointment only". I was definitely not expecting that response having witnessed the distress the lady and her pup were in... I feel like if you work in a veterinary clinic and have that lack of compassion for animals (and human beings for that matter) it may be time for you to find another career path. As for me and my pups we no longer go here as this sort of conversation has been overlooked on numerous occasions because I know dr miller takes very good care of my families horses with the compassion like no other. This may not be the best way to make a complaint but after talking to a few other clients, for some reason this behavior is overlooked in the office setting. I pray the little lady found help for her pup but my gut told me the pup was in way too much distress to last much longer. Please do better. For some folks, our animals are part of our family.
