This is by far my favorite place to shop. I love their selections and the prices!…read more I have been shopping with them for almost 15 years. My aunt turned me on to them and I sm glad she did. This location is new to the Memphis community. I think it's a pretty good store. The layout is easy to navigate through. Their is always enough staff on hand and each department has a lot to offer. The parking is good. I also like that it's a part of a shopping plaza. Makes the shopping experience all the better! Well of course I'll be going back!

I scheduled a hair appointment with Kitty. I walked in the salon and was asked after sitting in…read morewaiting area, "what are you getting?" I responded, "I have an appointment with a stylist at 3 for a shampoo and roller set." While talking with this stylist (she never introduced herself), we were at least 15 ft apart. She told me to come to the shampoo area and without looking through my hair or even touching it, she stated, "because of the density, it will be $75 for a roller set." I then ask, "what is the cost of a shampoo and only blow dry?" she replied, "$65." I asked, "it's $65 for a shampoo and blow dry, no style are the prices online correct?" she replied, "Yes, the prices on the website are for people with thin hair!" I refused services and left. JCPenny's website mentions nothing about a possible upcharge nor anything regarding prices are only for people with thin hair. I was simply being hustled by a JCPenny's stylist. JCPenny should be ashamed for allowing employees hustle clients out of extra money. JCPenny's website confirmed the following appointment: SHAMPOO AND STYLE - Includes shampoo, instant conditioner hair set on rollers and placed under dryer, a quick blow dry and curling iron can be done as well ($35-$65)

Longtime Browser (... I mean Shopper)…read more Real Quick: + Designer-brand Big & Tall Sizes that guys can't find anywhere else + Store is (almost) always organized, neat & clean + Friendly staff always willing to help + They are EXPENSIVE (for my budget) More Detail: I've been visiting this store for a long, long time. In fact, I remember when it used to be a Repp B&T & a Casual Male. When DXL took over, it got CRAZY EXPENSIVE -at least more than I want to pay for clothes. I remember once they had a selection of pocket squares for close to $100 each! (Just the hankie. No tie included!) Well, now a big guy can finally find a nice selection of designer labels (Polo Ralph Lauren, Nautica, Vineyard Vines, True Religion, etc). I've seen sizes 6X and size 60+. Personally, I can shop for my size in many department stores at much lower prices (albeit the selection is very poor elsewhere.) Clearance Back Corner: Yes, I'm the guy who starts in the back of the store and first looks for any bargains first. For the past few years, their clearance corner is pretty meager. The selection is slim and most items are only 25% off the sticker price. YUCK! Merchandise: The products are high-quality. I still wear sportcoats, slacks, jeans, etc. I purchased from DXL many years ago! Coupons: I no longer get any discounts that "wow" me or compel me to visit. Most coupons require that I spend at least $100! I did receive a birthday coupon -if I spend $50. (Thanks DXL) People: The people are always nice and willing to help. I've seen many come & go over the years, but Katrina is still there and always greets me with a warm welcome. Store: The store's appearance lives up to its reputation. It is always clean and well organized. It even smells real nice! I won't knock-off a star simply because their prices are more than I'm willing to pay. I do recommend it for the big & tall guy!

I was on the prowl for a dress. I had ordered a dress online, which of course didn't arrive until the day before a gala I was attending, and also didn't fit. The stress... On a whim, I stopped into WHBM and was practically to the register before anyone acknowledged me. One staff member addressed me, asked what I was looking for, and quickly handed me off to another sales person behind the register who refused to even look at me. The two then disappeared through a door to the stock room. Umm, what? I was in workout clothes and my hair was in a bun, so I wondered if they had judged me for that then remembered how ridiculous it would be for them to dismiss me because of that. For the record, I happen to have worked retail for years and know from experience that you never know which customer is going to drop some serious dough. I took a quick look around and saw a dress that caught my eye, but decided not to even try it on. I've made it a rule not to make purchases when I receive bad customer service, which has left me leaving quite a few Saddle Creek stores without bags, but that's another story for another day.
