We have had to leave our boxer/lab mix, Nym, there twice. I am actually one of those crazy dog people. I have a total of 6! My father keeps them when we are out of town, but Nym is just a little too much dog for him, so we have had to board her. I was very apprehensive about this - quite nervous, in fact. The people working at C&B were very helpful. In fact, before leaving Nym there the first time, I emailed back and forth several times with them and had all of my questions and concerns answered quickly. Nym stayed in her own room with a bed and a couple of blankets that I brought from home. During the day, she played with other dogs and burned her huge amount of energy off. I viewed her on the webcams many times throughout the day. When she was outside, there way always a person out there either throwing balls or cooling the dogs off with a hose, both of which she loves. We paid to have a webcam in her suite, and I was able to see her eat and sleep. She always looked content and her room was always clean as were the other areas that the dogs use. They are strict with their rules, which some people don't seem to like, but I totally understand. In order to play with other dogs, each dog must be evaluated before their stay. This is to keep all the dogs safe. Anyone who knows anything about dogs, knows that you should never just randomly throw a bunch of dogs together! I know that there are other facilities who just put their boardees together, regardless of size or temperament. That can create a very stressful situation for the dogs. Keeping the dogs on a structured schedule is also very important, and I believe that is what C&B is attempting to do by standing by their set hours, especially in regards to drop off and pick up times. Keeping all the dogs on a schedule helps reduce the stress of being boarded. By doing these things, they are helping keep the dogs happy and healthy. I am sorry that this facility is getting bad reviews from people who obviously have no idea what is best for their dog. We've been bringing our dog here for close to a year now. She goes at least once a week. Overall great experience, employees are pretty friendly and all seem knowledgable. Mostly same staff since I've been going. One incident where dog was bitten a few times ( I mean it's bound to happen no big deal) when asked what happened details were vague, but were told other dog was removed for good. I wrote a review 8 months ago that began with "I don't get why everyone writes bad reviews about this place"..... lets just say, today I found out why. They are rude and unprofessional. Everytime I have gone there someone has made a nasty comment about the person who owns the place. 38 years of pet ownerships and I have never encountered such attitude. Only 1 employee was pleasant. She encouraged me to use their pet sitting services which I attempted to use, I ended up cancelling before leaving on vacation. A minor misunderstanding on their billing with the owner, easily remedied with an invoice. But that was not going to happen, it was my fault for believing the employee rather than reading their policies on line. I'm sorry if I can't trust the employees, how can I trust your company? There are also many 'minor' extras they bill for and are not up front about. If you treat someone who can respond this way, how are you treating a pet that can not respond? read more

I am very surprised by all the bad reviews. This review is for daycare only (we've never used their boarding services, but I wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future if needed given our positive experience with daycare). We send our dog here almost every weekday. Not only does he seem to thoroughly enjoy it, but the staff has always been extremely friendly to me and they are always eager to tell me fun stories about his day or show me photos they took on their phones. My dog has some special needs and Catnip was one of the only places that were willing to accommodate his issues. They are a business ultimately and have rules in place for a reason and I accept that. If you read the rules ahead of time, you won't be surprised, but even then, they are willing to accommodate in special situations. I would definitely recommend sending your dog here for daycare. The best! I have used Catnip for daycare and boarding. Wonderful. They take such great care of my Airedale. She has stayed there as long as 3 weeks while we traveled. Our dog loves everyone there, is always happy to go in and sometimes doesn't want to come home. I highly recommend it based on my experience. read more

Even though the staff was very apologetic getting a hold of them was very difficult and their application to fill out online was way too much questions and questions that did not needed to be asked. I have had my dog boarded at many facilities throughout the United States one of my favorites is best friends pet care they have facilities in Orlando Alanta Chicago and also various other locations throughout the United States. They're charging $45 for boarding a pet for one night which is way overpriced compared to what I have paid to have my dogs boarded at other facilities. As you pull up to the facility you see that it is nowhere near a luck Sharee pet resort Business. I filled out the application and gave specific instructions regarding my dog that he was very temperamental and had to warm up to people and would growl and be very afraid as he is a rescue dog since he was a puppy and he was abused. He has been trained professionally and I have a never had a problem before. It was very embarrassing getting a call that no more than 10 minutes after dropping him off on our way to our hotel here in Savannah they stated that they try to give him a treat and he would bark at them and claimed that he lunged at them. I immediately return and picked up my dog and took him to my hotel which is pet friendly and enjoyed my stay here in Savannah but I was hoping that my dog could get a little bit of luxury in Savannah and their website is very misleading in my opinion. I did receive a refund of my $45 plus $10 because after 12 o'clock there is a $10 late fee if you were planning to pick up your packet after 12 noon. I have no issue with the staff they were very friendly apologetic and felt very sorry that my dog would not be able to be boarded there but I would urge caution before deciding at this property if your dog is very timid, shy and need some extra time to warm up to strangers. read more

I used them from day one. I have seen a steady decline in service and hours with an increase in a la cart costs. I just tried to book day care for my dog who hasn't been there for six months cause we spend summers elsewhere. I've been told my 13 lb coton de Tulear must be " reevaluated " for $30 fee. I may be stuck using this next week but never again. My dog is well known to the staff and owner and has stayed there for 2-3 weeks before while we had Int'l trip. This is flat out BS. This is probably the best option for daycare/boarding in the Savannah/Pooler/Richmond Hill area - their staff is fairly well experienced with dog handling/training and are set up to handle dogs of any temperment. If you follow their Facebook page, they sometimes post pics of the daycare dogs which I like. They also gave us a great home petsitter recommendation. The reviewer below is correct about the customer service - it's very uneven (definitely not warm and fuzzy - ex. on pick up, they order you to open the outside blue gate for them when bringing the dog out) and check in is slooooooow. Because it takes a while, new arrivals stand outside the doors to wait for the dog in the lobby to go back so that strange dogs aren't standing next to each other for a long period of time (also poses difficulties trying to get to work, etc.) We were there a good 15 minutes yesterday morning and we're not new, had no new records to submit, etc. (Friday morning 7/1). There also needs to be a bath option for boarded or daycare dogs since they can get really stinky but we are always told this can only happen if the groomer is there, which is rare and difficult to coordinate since it's an entirely separate business (and I'm reluctant since so many complaints seem to stem from him/her). Again, I do think the staff is really good with the dogs though. Edit: I am disappointed to have just a read a review where the owner called the reviewer "insane" - even if the reviewer gave incorrect information that's not the way to address it as a business owner. read more

I am from the Atlanta area, but visit Savannah quite often. I was so pleased to discover this great "home away from home" for my dog. While I do not like to board my dog overnight, I would feel very comfortable leaving my dog at Catnip N Biscuits. He attended their Doggy Day Care for two days during the week on a recent trip, and I loved being able to check on him through the live webcams on their website. The facility is extremely clean and does not have that "wet dog smell" that most animal facilities have. The staff here is very friendly and attentive to the animals, and you can tell they go above and beyond in caring for the animals staying with them. My dog had a fabulous time, and I had peace of mind of my dog's care. Thank you Catnip N Biscuits for a great experience, and we will be back soon! read more

I've been taking my pup here for over 6 months and I've been completely satisfied with the service and care that my sweet girl receives. Their rules are CLEARLY spelled out on the website and they review them after the first evaluation date. To address a couple of issues folks seem to have: any issue with grooming is not a reflection of Catnips and Biscuits. As far as I'm aware she's an independent provider that is based in their location, so I can't understand bad-mouthing someone for another business's let downs. The staff is rude: I've always found them to be polite. I myself, am no morning person, so when I drop my dog off at 7am I don't get butt hurt if someone isn't all cheery in my face. My dog's best interest has always been their priority and they've always politely and clearly communicated with me about everything concerning her. For those who complain about their rules, they not only have the responsibly to protect your pet from other animals while in their care , but to potentially protect ALL other pets from your fur-baby if need be. Having several animals in such close proximity to each other is a dynamic and at times chaotic situation and I feel good knowing that Cathi and her staff have safeguards in place to ensure my girl is safe, happy, and tired every time she leaves! read more

We love catnip and use them frequently. My dog always has a wonderful time there and the staff seem pretty friendly. However, we were really disappointed in that our card was charged an extra $26 after leaving Catnip without our knowledge. We trusted them with leaving our card on file, but it is never ok or professional to charge someone without explaining the policy first, or notifying them prior to the charge. We called to inquire about the charge and were told that it was for "temperament testing." If that is the policy, then we will fully abide by the rules and accept that. But never under any circumstances do you ever charge someone's card without the courtesy of letting them know this policy or at least calling them first and apologizing that the staff forgot to let us know. While $26 isn't that much money, we certainly put a lot of trust in this business with our fur baby and our money and would have hoped for better service. The response should not be "I'm sorry my staff didn't do that." But rather, I'm sorry my staff didn't inform you. Please know this is our policy moving forward. I'm sorry for the surprise charge and using your card without your knowledge. I will go ahead and refund you." We are loyal customers to this business. But are now cautious and super disappointed. I shouldn't have to feel anxious about checking my credit card statement, especially a business I trusted with my credit card on file. It is actually illegal for a merchant to charge a card without someone's consent. I'm sorry this had to happen, to ruin what would have otherwise been a stellar experience. read more

I used their daycare and boarding service last week and will definitely be using them again. I have used other boarding services in the past and picked up a shell shocked dog. This time it was totally different. My dog was in great spirits and was worn out from playing all day (and I have proof because they posted lots of pictures and videos on Facebook). I read other reviews that complained about customer service, but I did not share their experience. The staff was attentive and answered all of my questions respectfully. We have been bringing our dog here for a few months, and we are new to the area. They are nice enough there ( not very friendly, just ok), but not very happy overall and they are losing out on our business big time for several reasons. 1. They are not very friendly. 2. The employees do not seem properly trained. Even though we have a package they sit and stare at the computer awkwardly while I stand there waiting for my dog. I have to tell them we have a package, etc, and it takes entirely too long to get my dog and leave. 3. You have to have your dog there by 8am. The reason behind it doesn't even make sense. We used to take our dog to day care 4-5 days a week where we lived prior. We now take our dog there one day a week bc of this rule. I'm online right now picking another daycare, even though we will have to drive further. Very inconvenient. On our day off, we do not want to wake up before 8am to take our dog to daycare, so then we can go to the beach, etc. I've taken my dog plenty other places, and never heard of this rule. 4. Some days we decide last minute that our dog needs daycare, things come up, etc. We usually just bring her in the am, and it's not an issue. Now there is a huge sign saying you have to make a reservation 24 hours in advance. Really this place is THE most inconvenient place I've heard off, and it's just really making me not even want to use them at all. 5. Right when I walk out of the door my dog has to go to the bathroom stat, like she's been holding it forever. She also runs right for the water bowl when she gets home, like she hasn't had any water all day. 6. At first when we started taking her there she was really tired when she came home. Lately she has been not as tired, wants to play ball, walk etc right when coming home. My husband and I both work 50+ hours a week, love our dog, and spoil her. We are used to a daycare that is so much better than this, and much cheaper too. They def. nickel and dime you here. I would rather drive 5 more minutes, pay less, than have these issues. The reviews for this place are spot on. Someone should really open up a doggie day care in the area & give this place a run for their money. I bet things would change real quick then. read more

Let me start by saying that not all of our experiences at Catnip N Biscuits were bad. We actually loved sending our dog there. However, the last experience we had there unfortunately left us refusing to go there again and telling anyone we can not to go. Our first experience at Catnip N Biscuits was good. The lady we worked with was very nice. She gave us a tour and did an evaluation on our dog to determine if she could attend. Our dog was in need of some socialization and was working on overcoming fear aggression. I could tell that when she was there the staff loved her (maybe at times too much as she was held quite a bit since she's 5 pounds and adorable) and she was under good care with dogs her size. The worst thing that happened prior to our last experience was my dog getting through the fence that seperated the sizes of dogs into the big dog area and the staff kind of laughing it off like it wasn't a big deal. Thankfully she was not harmed. Otherwise it would have been a big deal. We even moved to Pooler and commuted to bring our dog there because she was seeming to enjoy her time at Catnip and was starting to show improvement with her behavior. Here comes the kicker. The last time we brought our dog went like this: It had been a couple months since our dog was last there. It seems that in this time there were some policy changes that we were unaware of and not informed of. When we arrived we said we were dropping off our dog for doggy daycare. The lady at the desk seemed very confused and attempted to look up a reservation in the computer. There wasn't one because we walked in like we had always done in the past without a reservation. The lady seemed unsure of what to do so she wrote our information down on paper and then took our dog and walked to the back and didn't come back out. She didn't say anything, just took our dog and left. We waited a few minutes unsure what to do or if she was coming back and then left assuming everything was taken care of and would be how it was supposed to. Very odd experience but because of our past experiences we figured it was okay. In the middle of the day we logged on to the webcams to check on our dog to see how she was doing. We became alarmed when we couldn't find her on any of the webcams. Even more so when we saw the lady in charge on the webcams in the catroom asleep in the chair. So needless to say we became worried. Where is our dog? Who is watching her? Because of this I tried to call. Nobody picked up. I tried to call several times. I left a message. I went online and emailed. We decided to head back early to pick up our dog because we were worried. When we pulled in the building was locked up and closed. There were no cars in the front and the door was locked. I couldn't understand how my dog was in there and I couldn't get there to her. Luckily by chance an employee came out one of the doors just then and noticed we looked concerned and let us in. When we got inside the owner was behind the counter and greeted us rather rudely like we didn't belong there. Unbeknownst to us, there is a strict no pick up policy between the hours of 11:30-2:30. We were taken aback by the rudeness of the owner but explained that we didn't realize that and she eventually sent someone to go get our dog. She wasn't going to let us take her but we insisted. No one is going to keep my dog from me. The staff member that she sent back for our dog returned a few minutes later with no dog. She couldn't find her! After some time they figured out that she was in the kennels. What had happened was because our dog hadn't been there for a while her evaluation was "out of date". Therefore, she wasn't allowed to interact with other dogs so they put her in the kennel cages for the day. We were furious. I couldn't understand why they wouldn't call us when they realized that so that we didn't spend all day thinking our dog was playing with other dogs. We don't need to spend money for our dog to be in a cage all day. We tried to explain this to the owner and she simply said "I'm just the owner. I don't know what goes on here". We were basically standing there with our mouths open not quite sure what to say. I wanted to yell but didn't want to cause a scene. She rang us up in the computer and acted like she was doing us a favor by "only" charging us $20 for the day! We paid our money and apologized to our dog. The staff nearby said "Oh she was fine". I have never been so angry in my life. Completely rude and unapologetic with no regard for how we or our dog felt. We will never return. Which really is a shame considering prior to this our dog seemed to enjoy herself. read more

I am not writing this review to cost this business any customers. I am simply writing it to make all aware of things they may not know. We had never used a kennel and had no idea what to expect. Our first choice was booked and they recommended Catnip n Biscuits. I called them about a month before we would be vacationing in Savannah and was told that my dogs needed certain vaccinations to be considered. I was also told that the vaccinations we were getting would require 7 days before they took affect and thus, we would need to get them the week before we came down. We did exactly that to the tune of $200. The day after I got all of the vaccinations, It took quite some time to get the information faxed to them. They called me later to inform me that the vaccinations I had gotten took 2 weeks to take affect and they would not be able to take our pets. Had they told me all of this information, there would have been plenty of time to get the vaccinations done. We are not out of options and will have to make the best of the trip without a place for our dogs. For a first-time customer, it would have made a lot of difference if we had been better informed. Ask a lot of questions and make sure you have all the things you need long before you use this or any kennel. I hope they improve this area of their business. read more
