Honestly, the 2 soups I tried the other night are still on my mind and I am trying to figure out how to have them again! How can I re-create them? How can I purchase a gallon of them? I cannot wait for the next pop up! When we went to The Vandy the other night for some cocktails, we knew that Soul Soup would be on the scene serving up 2 different soups for us to try (The High Life and Thai Me Up). The menu was posted on Angie's Insta page a few days in advance of the pop up (see photo of the menu) and I just knew we had to try them both! When we arrived and placed our cocktail orders, we also asked for a bowl of each of the soups to try and when they were brought out the table, they were piping hot and smelled so good! I was happy to know that rather than adding in the bacon to the High Life, they could serve it on the side so that my dining partner could enjoy the bacon while I just wanted to enjoy the soup with the pretzel bites no bacon! Two bowls of soup was a perfect amount for the 2 of us to share and when we were finished, Angie came out of the kitchen to meet some of the customers - it was so nice to meet Angie and she is seriously so friendly! I will keep my eyes peeled to her Insta to see when and where she will be next and you should too! It's soup season and if you want some of the best soup in STL, this is the place to find!

It's a great place for friends or family or alone too. They to takeout as well or order delivery. The ingredient selection is really impressive and very vegetarian friendly. Everything looked fresh and they refill often. There are also lots of soup base options to choose from plus a stir fry option if you want to mix it up. The make your own sauce station is a great touch too. The staff works incredibly fast at turning tables and keeping everything clean. They only have one bathroom (it's clean) so just be aware for wait times. They also give you one free rice bowl which is a small but good bonus. There's a good amount of seating though I've heard the line goes out the door on weekends. Overall I really loved this place and I am already looking forward to coming back.

This was my first experience at a hot pot by the pound restaurant. I've only been to all you can…read moreeat hot pot restaurants, so I was excited to try this place out. Apparently, I wasn't the only one because this place got packed by 6p on a weekday! The line was out the door. It can be a little confusing for a first time goer as you enter the place and grab a bowl to select the ingredients you want to eat. The minimum weight that you have to buy is 0.9 lbs, but you really won't know how much your bowl weighs until you get up to the cashier and put it on the scale. My bowl was underweight my first time through, so I went back to grab more ingredients. If I had to guess the minimum cost for a 0.9 lb bowl, it's probably about $16, which is a pretty good price for a hot pot. My bowl weighed about 0.97 and it was way more than I could comfortably eat. The next decision you have to make after you have selected your ingredients is the base and spicy level. I went with #1 Oil splash spicy soup at medium spice level. Now, I enjoy spicy foods, but this was at the upper limit of enjoyability. Although tasty, I think the oil in the broth got to be too much and I will want to try a different base next time. After you pay for your food, you get a number which you take to a table of your choosing and wait for your bowl to come out (they cook it for you). There is a drinking water station next to the free rice station, which was around the corner from the complimentary pickled vegetable station. Overall, positive experience and I would return for more. .|\---/| | @_@ | ..\_^_/..2026

I stopped by Drake's Place, a black owned restaurant in Ferguson, MO…read more I do not consume alcohol (I know. I know!) so I opted for a virgin Peach Margarita. It was very tasty and peachy. Buffalo Cauliflower Wings - I typically avoid these and veggie burgers bc they're the basic go-to for vegans, so we're usually just burnt out on them. But I'm glad I tried theirs. Excellent execution of these cauli-wings. Crispy coating exterior, tender floret bites. Yum! Fries were nothing special. I wouldn't order them again. Linguini Aglio e Olio, which is Italian for garlic and oil. This dish actually comes with mushrooms and tomatoes too, but I don't eat those so I added broccoli instead. (I was still charged for that broccoli tho) Vegans will also need to omit the parmigiana that comes with this dish. I haven't had this dish since I visited Venice, Italy years ago. Drake's did an amazing job with theirs. It was a seemingly simple dish that was bursting with flavor. Vegans will need to avoid their black bean burger for now bc their buns weren't vegan when I went. It's a nice spot with good service. My non-vegan friend loved her food and plans to go back with her family. So vegans, if you want to try something new, or if you find yourself near Ferguson with non vegans and need to eat, definitely check them out!

This visit we did carry out. Staff welcoming and friendly. After looking at the menu I ordered the spicy basil fried rice with added shrimp and hubby ordered chicken fried rice . This place is just a few doors down the road, so we decided to try them out. (I had zero recollection of trying them years ago, per my own Yelp review. lol) I got the Spicy Noodle Dish with veggies, and the Spicy Basil Fried Rice with well done tofu. I add crispy garlic and extra red curry paste to the fried rice dish; spice level 4. This level is not hot, but it's very flavorful and delicious. I saw the option to add extra curry sauce and it turned into a phenomenal dish! The spicy noodle dish was just ok. I'll stick to the fried rice. Habibi ordered the Musaman curry and he loved it. We both crave this place and have since visited quite often. The employees are always very nice. My only complaint is that I wish they sold veggie curry puffs (my favorite Thai appetizer). Their version has chicken, and there's no option to make them without the meat.

Needless to say, I was happy to visit this new-to-me location. It's an interesting complex, bathrooms literally outside and attached to Steve's Hot Dogs. It's right next to an empty/neglected field which isn't the most welcoming sight. The parking lot is convenient though vs. street parking at Locust. They have a smaller menu than the Locust location, especially much less ice cream options. I was looking for the brownie in the mug which unfortunately was not on the menu here. I got a yummy and beautiful holiday drink along with a free holiday shot (as part of their holiday pop-up). The interior dining area is super small, I wondered if they had additional seating elsewhere but didn't seem that way. We ordered food, drinks, and ice cream all of which are delicious as usual. While I would still choose to go to their flagship location on Locust, this is a great alternate location if you are near the area.

It was absolutely fantastic and really hit the spot. The quality of ice cream with the little kick of espresso/ cocktail was so great. The space itself is so vibey and detailed, and really aligns with their og location on Locust. I'm so excited to come back!!
