Of course, we could not come close to finishing all the food and had to ask for our included ice cream to go. Lucky, we had a room in Santa Maria with a big fridge and freezer. After our vodka soda and food coma wore off, we enjoyed our malted crunch ice cream in our room and finished our meal the next day. The smokey flavor of the steak and chicken was amazing. After we'd finished eating, we sat around with 1/2 eaten plates (and a pile of uneaten ribs) for the better part of 30 more minutes with zero service or follow-up. And by that time (two hours later), it was not busy and we really needed to head home. Gosh, did he go on break or something? When Danny finally arrived, we had to then ask for boxes and the bill. . The mediocre food, plus the forgetful service definitely put a damper on our family gathering. For a nearly $300 tab, the service really should have been better.

Loose-leaf tea options are served in a kettle using a metal strainer and kept hot with a knitted teapot cozy cover. The opening dish was an Italian Sausage and Potato soup and it was delicious. Served on a traditional tea tower, the tea sandwiches were egg salad, cucumber and cream cheese with ham and strawberry's and cream on cinnamon bread. I also was served a banana muffin with clotted cream, an Angel food cake and fresh cut fruit. - Thank you to Nancy for being such a kind hostess and for offering this tea service with honored dietary restrictions such as dairy-free. I appreciate that your to-go containers are environmentally friendly. Fantastic experience!

He had two tasting menus - one featuring…read morehigh-end Napa pours ($40) and one with his own three wines (plus a full glass of your favorite) for $20. I went for the $20 tasting and spent a lovely hour at the tasting bar, learning about the wines, the Stellers' history in Orcutt (as well as his great-great-great-great uncle who named the Steller Jay!). There are nice seating options, a few pretty couches and room for large or small parties (21+ only - them's the rules, peeps). If you like to sip and shop, be sure to visit Mrs Steller's boutique (Steller Home) a block away as well as the Deja Vu antique mall- about a 10 minute walk.
