I appreciate her willingness to listen, knowledge and presence. I often feel rushed at doctors…read moreoffices but not with Janice. She really knows how to make you feel seen/heard. I appreciate her!

I have been a patient of Janice Bryan, a Nurse Practitioner at Renown Medical Group, for 5 years. I…read morehave always been a fan of Nurse Practitioners as they seem to have more time to spend with their patients and more focus on teaching. Janice has these traits. Being a Renown Medical Group patient for 5 years, I have had the opportunity to visit each year for my physical and various other ailments. Janice always answers my questions, will listen to what I think is right for my own care and give me constructive criticism if she disagrees with me when I'm practicing "internet medicine". I like the fact that I can view my medical record online and if I have a question or need to renew a routine medication, I can use the email feature on their program "mychart". I feel that Janice practices quality, thorough medicine but also keeps the big picture in mind with keeping healthcare costs down. By viewing my medical record, I know that routine preventative medicine is followed and I know when to expect my next upcoming test. Janice has made appropriate referrals are made to other doctors when needed and I feel that the Janice and the other specialists work as a team when addressing my healthcare needs. I am happy with my overall health maintenance. The receptionist and nurses/assistants are very nice and I like that they ask if you've been out of the country in the past 90 days. This shows me that questions are thorough and detail and nothing is missed. I was recently seen for bronchitis and had to use the urgent care. The PA there performed a chest xr ay and had placed me on some antibiotics and other medications. After finishing the first course of medications, I still had not gotten better and went to see Renown Medical Group where I was placed on another course of medications. I felt that everyone was informed of my care. They also knew my allergies. I was assured that everything was ruled out and the continuity of care was smooth.

Dr. Jay is literally the best doctor I have EVER had! Which is saying a lot, because I have been…read morethrough over 20 surgeries and have multiple chronic illnesses, including chronic pain. She is first and wholeheartedly kind and concerned about her patients! She is the only doctor who has made real, non-judgmental efforts to help control my pain in a way that empowers me to make good decisions but still encourages me (with very practical solutions) to reduce the overall level of meds. This is critical for long term goals in pain management, or a patient will just keep taking more and more and more and it will be less effective over time, resulting in frustration for both doctor and patient. Anyhow-she is also very sharp! I have very complex, difficult issues. Many doctors just get a glazed look when I tell them my history; it can be overwhelming. But doctor Jay took my issues head on. She gets the complexities of having multiple, serious health problems and understands that not all patients fit the "protocols". She treats the whole person-not just the disease of the day that I may be complaining about. I never have to worry that she may be missing something, as I do with many other doctors. I'm sure many of her patients know how kind and pleasant she is. Many patients may not know how smart and skilled she is because they (thankfully) have not had to put her skills to the test. I have-and she blows the test out of the water! She has an air of "We can and will fix this!" that permeates any problem she encounters. That confidence comes from her technical capabilities. Enough said. (Well, really never enough said, when it comes to recognizing and thanking Dr. Jay!) Dr. Jay and her MA, Katie have made a huge. positive, comforting impact on my life and I'm sure many others. They never make me feel like I'm a pest, which unfortunately some doctors do. They are awesome at follow up and always return my calls the same day. They listen to my concerns and come up with often innovative, and always effective solutions. She explains things in a way that is easy to understand and lets you know that she is open to other solutions if her idea doesn't work for you. She always takes plenty of time with me-and I'm sure she must with her other patients. That almost always makes a doctor chronically running late-but she is always on time. I don't know how she does it all. Oh wait, yes I do! She's also a very hard worker! I really can not say enough good things about her; but I have to go now! Thank you, Dr. Jay (and team!) for all you do to make my struggles bearable. You are a blessing to the world!

This was our second visit with this excellent physician at Sutter Urgent Care in Folsom. She is…read moreexceptionally empathetic, thorough, calm, knowledgeable, engaged, and kind. She took the time to review my wife's extensive medical history and long list of medications, carefully considering all possible causes of her condition. Her consultative style shows the utmost respect for the patient's own experience and understanding of their health. I was deeply impressed watching her do everything she could to help my wife. Several hours after our visit Dr. Jay followed up with my wife over the phone to share lab results and make sure my wife is OK. The level of care far exceeds expectation and is highly appreciated.

I have never been treated so rudely by supposed medical professionals in my life! I believe I…read morecaught pneumonia from my student but when I was examined by Karri Burgner she treated me like garbage. She repeatedly interrupted me, answered the questions herself and then marked down her response as my response. Is that medical science? When I asked the office manager Rhonda that very question she looked bewildered and became belligerent instead of answering a legitimate question from a sick patient. Regarding Rhonda the office manager it states on the website: "She is always available to discuss any patient concerns." That is a lie! If you are looking for medical professionals look elsewhere! Not a good experience! I had seen Karri once before, and set an appt for annual "wellness checkup"…read more Since the initial visit consisted of a 5-10 minute discussion about how I felt (no real exam or tests done) I thought it might make sence to get a blood panel done before the appt so we could discuss the results (cholesterol and PSA etc). I called and was told NO......Kerri would order this After the appt?? I asked them to reconsider since I am leaving the country for 2 moths days after the appt so it would be useless at that point.....again, sorry but NO?? Well I called my HMO (Alingment Health) and a very nice person there said there is no reason I should not be able to get blood panel done before my appt, so he called them (Peavine family practice) and he was also told NO!! He came back on the line and suggested i switch my primary care physician, stating "they refused the request and were very unprofessional in how they spoke to him!! I guess if you just want to just "follow instructions", this practice might be fine for you, but I thought going to the doctor was supposed to be about the patient.....and if you feel the same way.....don't go here!!
