Run, don't walk, away from this dentist. They are unethical, unprofessional, and they lie. I have…read morenever had a worse experience at any dental/medical provider. It is hard to believe that this dental practice is still in business, as they should be shut down by the North Carolina dentistry board; they are that bad! I would give negative stars if that were an option, but in order to post a review, you must give at lease 1 star.

Over the last 3 years I have visited the Durham location for my routine hygiene cleaning. However I…read morehave been seeing Dr. Cobham at the Winston Location basically my whole life. Normally my scheduling goes smoothly, with a few hiccups with the hygienists that seem to need more training that I overlooked. However this last scheduling experience, led to no appointment at all. A week and 1/2 before my appointment, I received a call to confirm my appointment. However I don't recall ever making an appointment, especially since I just received a text, letting me know I should call the office to make an appointment and I hadn't done so yet. While on the phone I decided to make an appointment for the following Friday at 2pm. The office called to confirm my appointment the following week before appointment. The morning of the appointment at 10am they called again asking if I could come earlier. I asked what time the receptionist said 11:30 seeing as though I was just waking up that was not going to work. She explained they only had one dental assistant and asked if 1 o'clock could work . And if not it was ok. However I agreed to coming in at 1. I showed up 10 minutes before the appointment only to find the door locked. I figured maybe the staff was on lunch so waited in my car. However when I walked back to the door at 1, it was still locked so I called the number and no one answered. I even decided to wait an extra 10 minutes. No one ever came to the door, and no one ever followed up with me after and it's almost been a week later. I understand everyone desires to get off early on weekends or an emergency may have occurred, however as a client/patient. This type of service is unacceptable. Especially after I accommodated with such short notice.

I transferred dentists as part of a move from Raleigh to Durham and based on a referral from a…read moreneighbor. Unfortunately, we did not have a good (net) experience. We are a family with fairly healthy teeth, practice regular hygiene and dental cleanings, and had no significant issues 10 months (long stretch due to Covid) prior at our prior long-term dentist--upon seeing Dr. Gaddis, multiple cavities, root canals, and others services were promoted, many of questionable need. Pros: Good location, nice office, new equipment/technology, thorough hygienists, nice staff (for the most part), good bedside manner (for the most part) Cons: 1. Wife was referred for THREE root canals, ALL of which our endodontist told us he has no idea what Dr. Gaddis was referring to. Gaddis also referred us (like all her clients) to an endodontist that has many poor reviews, which was an early red flag, and why we ended up selecting our own (that is highly reviewed). It also raises the specter of potential quid pro quo between the two practices. 2. Gaddis told me my daughter needed sealant because of her baby teeth cavities being an indicator for her proclivity to cavities. When I said my prior dentist told us baby teeth are not a good indicator for cavities in permanent teeth (because they're weaker, less enamel, etc), she said "I don't recall hearing that in school". After a quick Internet search, I confirmed it is well known amongst professionals in the field that baby teeth cavities are NOT a good indicator for the health of adult teeth, leading me to conclude Gaddis either doesn't know some fundamental facts in dentistry or is intentionally discarding what she knows to promote more services (consistent with Con #1)...either of which is not good. 3. Front office staff can be a bit edgy/dry/cold...not outright mean, but not generally warm, like our prior practice. It's not a deal-breaker on its own, but coupled with the other issues not helpful. We were really hoping that we'd found a new dental home and allowed benefit of the doubt several times, but ultimately too many red flags have pushed us back to our prior practice until we can find a better local option.

I have been seeing Dr. Gaddis since she first went into practice out of dental school. Dr. Gaddis…read moreis a very, very good dentist! Always prompt, always caring, and always great. The office and office staff are as good as I have ever seen. Dr. Gaddis recently saw me for an emergency crown. Worked me in - same day- in and out- perfect. My Father was a dentist, and He would be very proud of Dr. Gaddis' work and professionalism! If you need a dentist- look no further!
