We used Catering Reserved for our wedding in Oct 2022 and were not pleased with our service. We were informed, after the fact, that we had run out of both entree options before our last table had been called to approach the buffet. This left us with a full table, our two event coordinators, the DJ, and catering reserve's wait staff being short 20+ meals. We were only informed of the lack of food after a guest had mentioned it during the wedding and I had to ask the event supervisor directly. I was told that the shortage of food was predicted while food was still being served based and when staff reached out to catering reserved, the staff were informed that nothing was said or done about it and we were not even notified. If we would have known, we would've at least made an attempt to order a few pizzas or something so that our guests and event staff had something to eat after working for multiple hours or consuming alcohol in the case of our guests. Instead, we were left embarrassed that we couldn't feed our loved ones at our wedding and helpless that the opportunity to mitigate the situation was taken from us before we had the chance to. We would really like to know what happened and why this situation was handled the way that it was. Was the buffet supposed to be served/portioned by staff? If not, were staff supposed to say anything to guests or let people know that x amount should be taken per serving? Has this happened at an event before and how was this handled? Was the event understaffed at 10 people? Is there some reason that nobody was informed that this was going to happen until it was too late? We reached out to our contact at catering reserved directly after the wedding and one of the owners assured my wife that they would make things right however we have been ignored ever since. Aside from the shortage and communication from catering reserved, I would like to say that the linens and china were exemplary, the staff was very courteous and professional and the food that some of our guests received was held in high regard. read more

A long overdue review. I would highly suggest not ever sticking with this catering company. I got married in the peak of Covid last year, and prior to the lockdown had catering reserved as our catering company. Once the lockdown happened, every venue was understanding and gave back a full reimbursement except for this company! I tried to contact the board since I wasn't able to communicate with anyone else or get a clear answer on my reimbursement. After two months, I finally heard from them, and the board was completely dismissive and not understanding. I think Covid is a force majeure, and they did not even honor that even when it was written in the contract. Read every fine print in the contract, and even then, be wary as they probably won't keep their word. read more

First off, the staff was very attentive and accommodating. The food at cocktail hour was good, the stations and passed around plates were delicious. The extra deserts we ordered, the sweets table and ice cream bar were fine. Cake was never served at each place setting, probably something that needed to be requested ahead of time. The entrees were not hot, but rather lukewarm, including the bride and groom's meals. We were extremely disappointed in this as it appears not everyone enjoyed their meal or completed it. By the time the entrees all arrived at the tables and we starting eating, we all said the same thing that it was not hot. I informed the supervisor, and not sure if they corrected the situation for all the other tables that were not served. However, I would say at least half of the dinners were served lukewarm as I noticed many of them were not finished. Which is very unfortunate and honestly a waste of our money (over $20K! for about 110 guests including vendors) It also seemed that between the cocktail hour and salad plating, was a bit rushed. We hadn't completed the cocktail hour and noticed salads were already on the tables, where guests felt they needed to sit and start eating their salads. We were also informed the DJs were never provided a meal, which was included in the count and prepaid. Not sure why this happened, however, it should not have as I know we had at least 4 extra guest entrees that were available and could have been provided to the DJs. We now feel the need to make up for this catering mistake. We were disappointed that the event coordinator, Dianna, we were working with was not on site, I was led to believe she would have been, since we dealt directly with her the entire time. It was only a few days before the wedding that we were informed she would be there. This makes me wonder if she had been there, perhaps the entrees would have been served hot, as they should have been, and the other issues would have not happened at all. She was also on vacation the week before the wedding which made us concerned and at times difficult to get with a week before the wedding when all the details needed to be ironed out. I needed a last minute (one week) company to cater a 90th birthday party for 18. They inspected the venue right away and got a better (larger) room for us, one we has been turned down for when we had asked for it. We requested a mixed small plate buffet including special requests they had to invent recipes for. They set up for a buffet quickly and when it became apparent that several guests used canes, shook with Parkinson's etc and going to and from a buffet with their hands full would be a problem (my bad planning), Catering Reserved brought individual plates and then offered a tray of each item as a series of courses. This averted disaster and guests loved the individual attention. The lobster salad in little martini glasses was a big hit! Prices are in the middle of the quotes from other companies, none of those went to see the venue before giving a quote and none would makes special items they just gave me a standard list to choose from. Catering Reserved left everything clean, and packed up the leftovers neatly for us to take home including the partial bottles of wine. They offered a variety of muffins and bagels and served sausages, Turkey bacon, scrambled eggs, cheesy hash brown casserole, and bubbly outrage juice. We had a buffet style dinner for 110 people that included a carving station of flank steak with chimichurri sauce along with a chicken and vegetarian option. People could not stop talking about the food and the decor. Also, I gave Dianna a rather complicated set of instructions for our bar and our desserts, which we brought in ourselves, and her team pulled it off flawlessly. I was actually a recent wedding guest, but it was such an exceptional experience I wanted to write a review. The food served was: cheese presentation, bbq meatballs, macaroni and cheese martini bar, veggie presentation and dinner was beef cuts in a brown sauce, some sort of crusted chicken in a white sauce, spinach/fruit salad, fresh green beans, and red skin mashed potatos I believe. Everything from start to finish was beyond my expectations. The ingredients were fresh, the presentation was perfection, and every bite was enjoyable until the last. The macaroni n cheese martini bar was a huge hit!!! First, let me say my husband and I have catered large and small events frequently over the years - both corporate and private. But Vivian and the entire CE team provided an amazing outdoor backyard bbq for our 4th of July/fam reunion on Saturday. Never mind it was outdoors with an air quality warning and heat index alert the entire day, but this team was efficient, never complained about the heat, they were all gracious to everyone at the bbq and presented themselves as genuine professionals. I simply cannot provide all of the personal quotes here, but literally all of our guests raved about the amazing food & presentation... Vivian lifted and shifted so quickly and effectively when I made small last minute changes, that I never carried the normal worry that communication would break down and things would not execute as we had planned. I had high hopes but, the subcontractors I hired had put a damper on my event by not completeing their work on time; I had to cancel. I spoke with Dianna Gilbert and her words were "we can use your deposit for a future date", so I agreed. I then asked "what do I do if I cant find a date to have it?" she said "just call back and they will process the refund." Fair enough, sounded good. BUT, she lied!!! And, is now avoiding my calls. According to the contract if you cancel WITHIN 48 hours, catering reserved can keep 50% of your refund, that makes sense. However, when I reluctantly had to cancel, it was over eight days in advance (a whole week prior to the event). Therfore, I should get a refund, as per THE CONTRACT; its in writting. They have since been avoiding my calls, how do I know that? I called from a different number and guess what, they answered. I was told they would get back to me, and again now no response. I have even emailed them several times and left messages. I would not recommend this company to anyone as they have no integrety and are very unprofessional. I can't speak about the food, but it did look like it was going to be amazing. But, now to contact BBB, and probably a lawyer. read more
