Their blackened chicken & goat cheese sandwich with the candied jalapeños, pickles (gherkins I believe) and arugula is second to none. My only regret about their sandwich is that I didn't have room for a second one because of their generous portion of both sandwich and crispy delicious fries. I can't say enough about them. It may have been even better than the first time I had it. Like I said, consistent and consistently delicious. Well worth the 80km drive to get to them. Highly, highly recommended! Not sure what I can't check the "service" box at the top of this review but to be clear, the food and the service was top notch. Try as I might, I don't have a single critique including price! It is absolutely clear that Cameron and Dana are committed to fresh & local food, both from their espoused personal philosophies as well as being evident in their choices of ingredients, preparations, etc. I could talk for ages about their Halibut cheek that was cooked so perfectly it didn't even taste like fish, or their lamb with garlic and roasted cumin that melted in your mouth, or the pork cheek terrine that married so beautifully with peas & sorrel...or even polenta, normally so bland and boring, that had fresh morels & pecorino in it, bringing a peasant dish to soaring heights. The dinner I had was for their Alfresco Winemaker Dinner Series at God's Mountain Estate. It was meant to celebrate Joie Farm's wine, and each course was paired with a wine - even that morning, Dana changed the menu as the miso she had originally done for the halibut didn't seem to mesh as well with the 'A Noble Blend' 2010 vintage we were drinking - this is how absolutely committed Joy Road Catering is to the tastes that their food and the chosen wine perpetuate. The best part? it is clear that not only they love the food, but Joy Road Catering actually cares about the people they employ and their guests. I was able to watch the set up of the dinner and their interactions with their staff, as well as enjoying their conversation later in the evening, and I would safely say that they would be a welcome addition to any event.

They never responded and then followed up with an email asking if we wanted to cancel. I immediately responded. We did not and I asked them to resend me the payment link. This was nearly 2 weeks before the wedding and they refused to communicate at all. They did not resend the invoice. They refused to return any phone calls or any emails. When I contacted the wedding venue if they could get in touch because they recommended this caterer for us. They called them and the caterer immediately called them back to tell them that they canceled service on us. They said for non-payment even though we specifically requested payment links multiple times and didn't even have the courtesy to let us know that they canceled service. We were left scrambling before the wedding to find another caterer. Fortunately with someone else was able to come through for us but this company nearly ruined my daughter's wedding. Do not ever use this company. I am adding additional clarification based on their response. They are correct that there were some changes, but they were told well in advance what the final numbers were. Additionally, they asked for payment and I responded to that email saying that I was not able to locate the payment link and I asked for it to be resent. They did not do so. I called and emailed multiple times after that point. They refuse to respond in any way. They were willing to call back the venue to let them know that they canceled the order, but they didn't even have the courtesy to tell me this. Completely unprofessional. If you want to cancel the order, that's your choice but you didn't even let us know this. Again. I asked for the payment link several times. Thanks. I called and left voicemails. I left emails and you refused to respond in any way. Do not do business with this company. They are completely unprofessional.
