Since I am fond of seafood, a menu of Shrimp and Grits, Scallops wrapped in Prosciutto with a Balsamic Drizzle was selected as the appetizers; an Arugula Salad with Strawberries, Fennel, Pine Nuts and Parmesan Cheese as the second course; Fried Lobster and Prime Rib served with Garlic, Crab and Cilantro Rice; Roasted Brussels Sprouts, Artichokes, Mushrooms and Tomatoes as the third course. Ann and Sheneen, the mother/daughter duo, were so responsive and accommodating from the before - during - after of our company holiday party. They answered any questions we had and went above and beyond to present us with additional options of items we had not even thought of. You get SO much bang for your buck with their catering service. We had two stations - a make-your-own pasta station (which was a HIT) and a prime rib carving station - both of which had an additional attendant. Meanwhile, two attendants were serving hors d'oeuvres and passing them out to our guests. All this - AND we were within our small budget! 5++++++ stars. This review is based on the food tasting I had with Catered with Class and after tons of thought I felt as though 3 stars was very appropriate for my overall experience. Wedding planning is extremely stressful and one of the final items my Fiance and I needed to decide on was the food. Ann and Catered with Class came highly recommended and after seeing so many awesome dishes (photos), I was more than excited to schedule a tasting. For salads, we tried the California and Classic Caesar. The California salad was VERY refreshing and had the perfect blend of flavors and crunch. The Classic Caesar was absolutely delicious. My Fiance and I LOVE Caesar salad so this was a very easy choice. For entrees was the Salmon with Chive Buerre Blanc Sauce, Seasonal Vegetables, and Red Skin Mash Potatoes and Gravy. The Salmon was amazing and it literally melts in your mouth. I have had a lot of Salmon dishes and was pleasantly surprised with all of the flavors and the yummy sauce. My Fiance really liked the veggies, I almost think that for him that was somewhat of a highlight. My one complaint with this dish was the gravy on the potatoes, it was way too salty! Ann was very understanding of this and let us know that they would be able to tweak some of the ingredients. I think I just felt as though that was something that should have been tasted when "prepping" the food, but none the less...we continued on. The next entree consisted of the Baked Chicken with some sort of butter cream sauce and Seasoned Vegetables. This dish was disappointing a bit because it was dry and hard, definitely not melt in your mouth like and I found the sauce to be too tangy, borderline sour maybe? almost lemon-like I think is the best way to describe it. After maybe one or two bites, we decided that we did not care for the dish. The third and fourth entrees consisted of Fried Catfish, Fried Chicken, and Baked Mac N Cheese. Now keep in mind that this review is based on my experience and my opinion so with that being said.... I felt as though the Catfish was under-seasoned. The Chicken was better, but it just had a very light flavor of rosemary. it wasn't "bad" per-say, but I was looking for more spices. Hired Catered with Class for a Holiday Party and I was not pleased with the service. I was told there would be enough food for our guest but we ran out of food and utensils. We actually ended up having to buy pizza. I'm very disappointed because I read the reviews prior to hiring Catered With Class and I was so excited to have them cater our event but i was let down. I discussed the situation with them after and they seemed concerned and apologetic and they were suppose to talk about possibly refunding half of what we paid for the pizza but I have not heard anything from them since and they are not responding to my emails now. Ann and Sheenan felt more like friends than caterers throughout the whole process. They even came to my house and cooked a sample meal from start to finish. Can I just start with how amazing their customer service is. Ann answered the phone upon my first phone call even though she was out to dinner. Their follow through was impressive. I received a quote in less than 24 hours from my initial call. They provided us with a sampling of the menu items that we selected. The seafood was better than seafood I have had at restaurants. The sliders were so juicy (I had the fried chicken and the burger). The antipasto plate was not only beautiful but tasty. No detail was left undone. They were both wonderful events, that were made extra fabulous because of Ann's and her crew's flavorful food & warm spirits. I couldn't wait to post this review because I love sharing good things and being able to support the businesses of great people, who do great work, make our experiences even better and the feeling that your money was well spent - and even better when you can get greatness for a good price. For both the Baby Shower and the Birthday Party we had Ann make us her famous Shrimp and Grits appetizer, which she serves in a cute martini style glass dish - always a big hit, visually and "tastily". In all honesty I was looking for an excuse to hire her again just so I could have that dish again! At my husband's party, which was a larger gathering, she suggested we also do a carving station, from which she created delicious made to order gourmet sandwiches, and also a pasta station. When Ann suggested a pasta station, I thought "sure, that would work", some nice pasta and sauce options works fine for everyone, but it was beyond that. This "pasta station" was more like a "pasta experience", which shouldn't have surprised me, Ann is always a step above! The pasta station had bowls with multiple fresh veggie options - tomatoes, spinach, mushrooms, broccoli, etc - that you could choose any, and as many as you wish. The chef then sautéed, over an open flame, your chosen ingredients with the sauce, and type of noodles, you chose and then you are presented with a delicious, customized, freshly made pasta dish - the whole experience felt like we were in one of those master chef cooking shows! I was amazed by everything that was put together with such short notice and they came through.
