Look, the headliner is usually someone that you've vaguely heard of and better than average.

I've never been to the Stress Factory before but it merits a return visit. The ticket prices were reasonable, there is a parking garage right next to the venue and plenty of restaurants to grab a bite before the show. They require you to purchase 2 items during the show, but you can get a bottle of water and something else. I had a yummy lemon drop martinis (ok, I had 2) and some candied nuts (warm and freshly roasted). They also have plenty of food and desserts. The servers really hustle and are adept at maneuvering through the crowd to keep you hydrated and fed. Apparently, when it's warmer out, they have a bar area outside before the show. Good times! Go with friends and laugh your ass off!

It is a highly respected comedy club that has hosted many of the greats, some of which are pictured along their walls. Prior to this visit, I had tickets to see Charlie Murphy around 2014, and I can say he was genuinely funny. I was recently there on Wednesday Jan 14th for their New Talent Showcase and truly enjoyed myself. The comedians were all so different but the lineup didn't feel choppy and thrown together. There were a lot of first timers that really had the crowd on their feet by the end of their set. I know the Stress Factory is known for their big names, but the New Talent Showcase is something special. It felt like a poetry slam night but for comedians. There was a sense of community, no heckling, all love. The service was great. We moved from one table to another on the opposite side of the stage, yet there was no hiccup in our service. Our server was super nice, and our appetizers hit the table pretty quickly. I ordered chicken quesadillas and a sampler that included mozzarella cheese, chicken fingers, and curly fries. Everything was good thankfully since I came straight from work and was starving. Lastly, I had a German draft beer to wash it all down. It was a good night!

I read a couple of other reviews noting that service was chaotic and that was certainly my experience. After we were seated, it took a while for the waitress to come by. The table next to us told us that they had been waiting 45 minutes for the waitress take their order. It seems like we were placed in an area that was forgotten by the staff. Anyway after we placed our order and got our food & drinks, we never saw our waitress again. She came by at the end to give us the bill but didn't check on us for the entire show. We didn't even get a chance to order our second drink as part of the 2 drink minimum since she never gave us the opportunity lol thankfully there was no fee! For food we split the chicken tenders and fries ($24). Pretty expensive but surprisingly a decent portion with 6 chicken strips. Not to the fault of the venue but there was an incredibly rude and disruptive group behind us which was distracting to the show and really took away from the experience. It was disappointing that staff didn't do anything to intervene and tell her to be quiet. She was talking the whole time and her phone rang twice during the show!! Overall I'd probably come back for another show and mostly enjoyed my time. But at the same time I'm wary after the semi chaotic experience

My daughter and I went to a comedy show one January 22nd and main comedian was Brad Ttackman and he had two openers. Service was up to par. The comedians were fantastic. I haven't laughed so much that my cheeks hurt. What great performance. Drinks were delicious and we ordered the loaded French fries. They were delicious.

I thought a…read morecomedy club would be a good choice and was surprised to see via Google that there was a comedy spot in the NE since we didn't want to travel into center city. The Comedy Cabaret is a small venue attached to the Ramada Inn right on the Blvd near Woodhaven. We went on a Saturday night and it was 15.00/person with a 2 drink minimum. It's not so much of a club but rather a small room right off the hotel bar. The room holds maybe 75 people if it's full but it was a light crowd when we were there---maybe 30 people tops. The comedy itself was a mixed bag. There were maybe 7 or 8 comedians leading up to 2 headliners. Of those 7 or 8, half were good the other half, not so much. One was so bad it was painful. He had a series of one-liners that were supposed to be witty but all of his "jokes" were met with deafening silence. And the small audience was kind of unruly at times---talking amongst themselves, using phones---rude behavior that the performers to their credit, took in stride. Simplee Dee and Bill Chaing were the headliners that evening and both were really funny and they were really appreciative of people coming out to support live comedy. If you're looking for upscale, look elsewhere but we enjoyed the show well enough that we would return again.

Holy shit - easiest 5 star ever. We went last month during our NYC trip and the show was amazing,…read moreevery comedian was on point, I cried laughing. It was a last minute decision to go so originally we got in the 9pm standby line for Fat Black Pussycat. Unfortunately we didn't make standby twice when we waited at 9pm and 11pm. Luckily, we were offered to go to the 11:45pm comedy cellar show instead. Yes please! So happy it worked out, especially on a busy Saturday night. It was the 2 of us & we shared a table with 2 other couples who were such a vibe to chat with. 2 drink minimum. The show started around midnight and ended around 1:30am. Definitely recommend to catch yourself a comedy show here! I'll be back next time I'm in NYC

After watching the show, I recognized almost every comic (I watch a lot of stand up comedy on youtube). Every comic was solid, every comic was funny. Anyone I hadn't seen before, I looked up and watched on youtube after. Fun experience. Try to buy tickets in advance if you can, unless you are super flexible and are okay with being on the waiting list and maybe not getting in. We ended up in the standby line and luckily got in. Prices are reasonable. If you like standup comedy definitely come. You can look up the lineups on their website ahead of time. They do not guarantee that everyone listed will appear, but I guess they also sometimes have drop ins of special guest and really famous comics. Brennan was the big name of our show. Schultz was also supposed to be there, but was a no show. Everything is pretty organized and orderly. 2 drink min. but the drinks are reasonably priced as well. Highly recommended. I wanted to see Aaron Chen, but the timing didn't end up working out, but he was there the days I was in town.
