This is a nice little Italian market. It is a great option if you wanna cater different Italian dishes for a larger size family or events That lasagna is quite exceptional easily a 8 out of 10 for taste. It was definitely more heavily meaty than most lasagnas. I have either the past and I really appreciate that with a thin noodle and a good ratio of sauce. It was also lots of flatbread style pizzas that are great for someone who doesn't want something overly heavy or with cheese . I refuse to go back to this location, I have reached out to them in the past for poor customer service experiences, but they obviously do not care, About the customer or how they represent. Did you not train your staff well, from entering and exiting this location it is always unbelievably a disappointment. There is a sense of entitlement her that I do not understand, your customers are coming to shop in your location because of your product, and the way that you treat them is representative of who they are, and you obviously do not care about your people other than just taking their money and putting them out the door. I was walking around Cataldi Fresh Market 30 minute or so before closing time... A lady asked me "You want to have some pizza?" Free Pizza... they were giving away their food right before closing at the hot table. Standard Italian style supermarket... just like most of them in the area.. Great if you live in the area... to pick up some staples. They do have weekly specials worth checking out! read more

Classic old school Italian market. Great hot table with many interesting fresh options and a fantastic bakery section. In my opinion they have the best Bombe in Vaughan. It's not a big market but every inch of space is used wisely to display all it has to offer. Staff in various departments are always attentive and friendly. Cataldi Fresh Market is not known for being easy on the wallet as other grocery stores, instead it is known for its quality and its availaility to carry goods otherwise hard to come by since they are imported from Europe. This doesn't there aren't AMAZING deals! Just the other day the 500 count napkins were $1.69...regular price: $1.99 (can't be beat) Their baguettes- $1.00 Homemade tomatoe puree $.99 Did I mention they also sell fresh meat and deli? That's right, just like the butcher shop...fresh cuts and ready to bbq. I bought two rib eye steaks and cooked them on the bbq that night- Like butter! I highly recommend this market. I work upstairs above it so i have it fairly often. The hot table is very good. I really like the pastas here. The pastry table is very good. I especially love the cream filled croissants. The only negative it is very expensive. Not the best option if youre looking for a good bang for your buck. They have some decent specials but you can usually find any item they have cheaper somewhere else. read more

I feel as though I should be writing this review in Italian as that's the type of market (grocery store) this is. Italian items not traditionally carried in other bigger stores can be found here....coffees, olive oils, pastas, etc. Fruit/vegetable area is small but has a big variety. I prefer Highland Farms for fresh produce as the selection is huge and there are plenty of everything. Meat section is great and reasonably priced. Desserts are just ok.....a bit of a disappointment considering the area. Wagjag pick-up is at one of the counters. I've ordered sirloin steaks and they were incredible for the price....ditto for beef ribs. Checkout lines are a bit confusing and move slowly....but this place is designed to be a "strolling" store...where turning a corner will reveal something new...so it's part of the relaxing environment Garden Centre (seasonal) is great with excellent prices and unique items Not a bad little market at all....small compared to the new "superstores: but more intimate and friendly. read more

Cataldi is a cute little italian shop. Their prices are incredible. They also have the biggest chicken wings youve ever seen. I strongly urge you to never come here on friday or saturday.... They are not equipped for volume. They have three cashier lanes and you can expect a 15 minute wait in line. Its also a very small store so it can get very crowded. read more

While shopping at Cataldi the wife and I bought a store-made lasagna in an aluminum pan, ready to heat. We hadn't had lasagna for a long while, and thought that store-made in an Italian store would be really good, especially costing $16.99 for a smallish one for two people. HOW WRONG WE WERE. THIS WAS THE WORST LASAGNA WE HAD EVER EATEN. First of all the heating instructions were completely wrong - we had to heat it almost 3X as long! And it was a real slop!! You could just pour it out of the pan. And absolutely no taste. No garlic, no herbs, no nothing. Just a soupy mess. Then we started asking friends and acquaintances and everyone said the same thing. A real disgrace to Italian cooking. We no longer go to cataldi; neither do many of our friends. STAY AWAY! read more

I really think this store is a gem. I shop for traditional Calabrese ingredients and regular groceries. My favourite items are the sheeps milk cheese, the Sicilian pastries (if I want a special treat), the large salad vegetables and the seasonings. You will find very acceptable customer service especially at the check out cashier service people. A tip, Aurora labeled food is not necessarily high quality. read more

Got catering for a function. Deli platters , fruit platters and pastry platters. They did a very nice job. Only thing I would have preferred some of the ham and other cold cuts to be sliced a bit thinner. It was fresh and very beautifully put together. Would recommend. read more

The lines can be painfully long at both the meat counter and the checkout, but everything is fresh, and there is a good selection for the size of store. The food choices are very geared to an Italian shopper, so this is not the place to go for anything that isn't of European origin. The fruits and vegetables are great, but the real strength is the meat counter and the deli. There's also a hot table with a decent selection, and fairly bad service. If you're not in a huge rush, this is a good place to get your food shopping done. read more

Be aware of the Cataldi in Woodbridge. The cheese department is next to the meat department so they economize by sharing the same electric saw. It is extremely common to see meat scraps on the saw as they throw on a slab of cheese for cutting. They don't even bother to get a rag to do a quick wipe so the customers don't have to see that. Tacky. On my last visit I saw a kid from the meat department drop a piece of meat, step on it, and pick it up. I didn't see him throw it in the garbage can that was right at his feet (which is what I would have done especially since it was done in the public's view). Instead he brought the meat to the back room, probably to package it for sale. I tried to talk to the manager to file a complaint but the cashier deterred me, insisting I give her the complaint and she'll make a note of it. If somebody told me that an employee dropped meat, stepped on it, and possibly decided to put if up for sale, I would call the manager immediately. She didn't think immediate action was necessary though. But she was considerate. That is why I would give cataldi one star. They earned it. Seriously, Cataldi has a bunch of punks working in the meat department. I got the chance to know one of them personally and therefore wouldn't consume meat from Cataldi even if they were practically giving it away. It scares me to think what they do behind the scenes when nobody is looking. read more
