He was advertised as a toy poodle x miniature schnauzer (his picture and ad is still on their Facebook Page). My dog is now 9 months old, weighing 14kgs and with a height of 450mm to the shoulders. Concerned that my puppy keeps getting larger and larger, I contacted the owner (male) of Puppy Pad at Loganholme and suggested that my puppy was much larger than I would have expected a toy poodle x miniature schnauzer to be. The owner of this business responded with: "was I able to guarantee what my children would look like?" (assuming he meant my human children) and " there is no guarantee when buying livestock". The owner was extremely rude throughout his telephone conversation and then continued to hang up. I would like to make it clear that I was not seeking any financial compensation for my puppy as we love him and he is part of our family now. My concern is the owner was rude and would not acknowledge my query. Also, if I was purchasing what I understood to be a toy poodle x miniature schnauzer from Puppy Pad at Loganholme for an elderly person, they would not be able to manage or be able to care for a similar puppy once it is fully grown. I am incredibly disappointed in this business false advertising their puppies and not taking any responsibility for their error.

The cats looked well cared for and in good health. For me, choosing just one cat was a very different decision, and my partner and I spent well over an hour at the shelter. I apologised to the volunteers for taking so long to come to a decision, but they reassured me that I have nothing to apologise for as it's a very big decision and the last thing they want is for us to go home with the wrong pet for our lifestyle. Finally, I came to the decision of adopting a gorgeous domestic medium-hair kitty named Lilo. The volunteers were very helpful throughout the entire process, providing us with a cardboard box carrier and blanket free of charge, going through all necessary paperwork, and showing us which brand/type of food and litter we needed to purchase to help the cat transition into her new home. Overall, I had a very positive experience at this shelter, and will definitely be coming back if I decide to get another furry baby!

You can go there looking for your lost animal, but in order to adopt, you must go out to their adoption centre at Bracken Ridge on the other side of town. This was a bit disappointing as the Brisbane City Council website makes out that this is an adoption centre. If looking to adopt a dog on this side of town, best to head to the RSPCA centre at Wacol.
