So excited to see that they now have a permanent home in beautiful Sandgate and went to check out their new cafe this weekend.Located in a quieter section of Rainbow Street, their cafe is perfect for the local community and regular visitors. The decor is stylish yet simple (check out the mural on the wall!) and the coffee tastes as good as it always has! I came to visit on day 3 and already it is hard to find a seat. I shared a vegie fry up and pancakes with a friend, the eggs were soft poached (yay!) and the mushrooms and spinach were garlicky and tasty. Hash browns were also a nice touch. The pancakes were fluffy with a giant ball of ice cream. Shame the syrup was completely fake, but for less than $10 a serve what do you expect?

I've lived in Sandgate for almost three years and have struggled to find consistently good coffee…read more... and then along came Cypher. Cypher is right next door to Sandgate train station, which is ever so handy when I'm on my way to work. They always greet with a smile and are super polite, which is something I always look for when I try new places. I've had coffee from Cypher on a Saturday morning, week day morning during rush hour and on weekdays outside of rush hour, made by different baristas and I've always had a great coffee. You can text ahead, which is super convenient when I know I'll have no time to spare between getting to the station and getting on the train. Cypher also serve light meals and although I've not tried their food, what I've seen looks pretty great. Sandgate, you finally have a great place for coffee ... thank goodness for Cypher!
