Our dog Budhi (Japanese Spitz) had just come to live with us (we adopted her at 1.5 years old) and she had started throwing up her food every morning. Being a bit worried, and the consult fee here is pretty comparative $55-$59 we thought we'd give them a try. Dr Antje Costanzo saw our dog and was very good at telling us what to do, how to fast and other options to make her feel better. I also wanted to know a bit more about Advantix verses the Advocate that I had been using because they didn't cover worming... and Andrew at the counter was very good at pointing me in the right direction. We left feeling pretty good about our visit. Having said that, we usually feel pretty good about vets when we leave unless we're going there to put a dog down. What really blew us away was the follow up call 2 days later from Antje herself asking us how we were going and if everything was okay. And if there was anything please let her know... we had never received a follow up call from a vet before nor our own pet folder. So this definetely impressed us and we will definetely be back.

Every time we walk in, my puppy Churro and I are happily greeted by the staff. Churro particularly likes Andrew (the cool guy at reception) and whenever they see each other at the vet, my pup does a little pee because of all the excitement. The staff are so friendly and helpful. They always play with Churro while we wait for our appointment and love to exchange tips and share stories about other pets they've met. Dr Lucilla Pratt is Churro's vet. She is very patient with my impatient puppy who squirms- a lot! On the first visit we had, Churro was so anxious and seemed scared, Dr Lucilla gave him a dried pigs ear treat for him to teethe on- after that, they became best of friends. Dr Lucilla is always happy answer all the questions I have and even writes little notes to help me. After every check up, Churro is guaranteed cuddles and playtime with Dr Lucilla, which is just so heart warming to see. It's great to go to a vet who seem to love and care about your pet as much as you do. They have a lot of goodies in stock for your pet and great products. Andrew at reception is very helpful, if you're stuck with any questions I'm sure he'd be happy to help.

Finding Paddington Pups was the result of a google search and a telephone call where a pleasant young man on the other end told me, "If you can bring him in this morning we can see him." I'd been searching for a new groomer for our pampered pooch after a less than desirable cut just before Winter. All I wanted this visit was a general tidy up, wash and dry (his visits to the salon sound all too much like mine!). Paddington Pups were able to see Dutch that day and it worked out cheaper than our usual salon. Cheaper doesn't always equal better but upon being reunited with my pup a few hours later it sure was in this case. The groomer had heard everything I said and trimmed his face without making him look like a dog without any facial hair. His feet were tidied and there was no great length taken off the rest of his coat. And while I'm yet to make use of it, they also have doggy-day care on site as well as a small range of pet food and toys.

We are pedigree kitten and puppy breeders and have been using this particular vet for many years and have always found that Paul explains what is wrong with your animal in a down to earth way and offers several options for care. He doesn't believe in expensive unnecessary tests but of course will offer them if he believes they're needed. His vet nurse Monica is always helpful on the phone or in person. Initially Paul can seem a bit eccentric, but after getting to know him and visa versa he a warm and generous person. Being a breeder of pedigree kittens and puppies we need to have a great vet and Paul definitely fits the bill. THE BELOW IS NOT SO MUCH REVIEW BUT SOME INFO ON HIS CARING NATURE. We had used Paul for a few years but lost track of him when he closed and moved his practice from a nearby suburb. Luckily we came across him again a couple of years later when frantically trying to find a vet open on a Sunday, we had an extremely sickly 2 week old puppy. Even though he wasn't actually open he was there checking on the animals and amazingly answered the phone. Paul got us to come to the surgery straight away so he could attend to the sick puppy and he literally saved the puppies life, and he wasn't even supposed to be working.

My cousin who also has a dog lives in Indooroopilly has made this her go to vet because she loves the attention. The office is not at all flashy and the consultation room is simplistic so you might not think much of it but the service is impeccable. When compared to other vets out there this one is quite affordable. The flea shot for our dog cost around $30 less than another vet we had originally gone to. What's also great about this place is that you can call Paul and he'll answer your questions (with patience) and give advice. He also follows up to make sure everything is fine, which is great for any doubts or uncertainties you may have. I think this is a great place that really looks out for your pets.

All the staff at Clayfield Vet are friendly, helpful and explain things in a clear manner. They all have a wonderful bedside manner and can even manage to control my 'big boy' who does not liked being held or patted. They give you options based on a case by case basis. They will often consult each other and/or other medical professionals on cases which I think is wonderful because you can get more information and better service this way. This is a family run business and they treat every one of their patients and their humans with dignity and respect. They will often do follow up calls in a few days to see how your pet is progressing after they leave the surgery. Boss, the resident cat is really cute (and cheeky) too and loves to be petted and have a game with you. If you do not want Boss near you or your pet, you just have to let the nurses know and they will move him to another room instantly. I cannot praise Clayfield Vet highly enough.

The vets will intervene if he ruffles anyone's feathers. There are four vets there who you can see, all of them have at least 10 years experience. You're onto the goods with these guys. I've only ever had an appointment with Dr Gray, and I'm happy to report that she gives down to earth, common sense advice. She's not going to suggest you spend more money than you have to on superfluous items for your pet if you don't need them. Her bed side manner with pets is second to none. She's relaxed, and she knows how to get things done. She won't waste your time. Also, she explains things in a way that makes everything seem as easy as A B C. For any international travellers, Clayfield Vet Clinic can help you out with all the checks you need to go through before your pet can be exported to another land. That's a service not provided by the majority of vet clinics as it requires special accreditation. Bonus! Clayfield Vet Clinic is quite popular, and so I'd advise making an appointment. You can usually get in the same day or the next day. Another good thing- it's an independent family owned practice- now if that doesn't get your vote, what does? Most importantly, It's obvious that all of the vets there are doing what they love. It's not the daily grind for these folk, that's fo' sho'.

But Murphy is a bugger and you can bet your bottom dollar they're going to get sick on a Saturday afternoon when it's a visit to the after hours vet. Thankfully, Pet Emergency operates out of Queensland Vets at Stafford Heights and before midnight charge a lower fee for after hour consults. The pooch and I were seen to relatively promptly for what was a busy weekend of consults and injured animal drop offs for the clinic. The vet that saw to us was warm and friendly. There was no hard sell for product -- just honest advice and diagnosis. These guys are firmly in the pet black book. You hope you never need to call upon them but you're thankful they're there if needed.

Very pricey place for a bunch of vets who stand around doing testing all day. The point of taking…read moretests is to find the problem and rule out what could be. Unfortunately the vets here are not about the doing all they can for your pet but rather what they can do as a business. They will go the latter because it's, and I quote, "worthless" as our dog's doctor, Phillip Thomas, so nonchalantly expressed in a conclusion meeting about our beloved dog, Bentley, who passed away. We still do not know what the cause of her death was and we have no answers. However, we did manage to be invoiced a nice hefty bill. Their staff are not properly trained and don't have very good phone manner especially when communication is their way of conveying the updates of your pets conditions. Not to mention the staff there know absolutely nothing and never have an answer and aren't to enthusiastic in finding out. A loss is a loss, pets are no less worthy than a human life and animals become a part of peoples lives and journeys. This clinic is insufficient in their work, their research and their communication. If you do take your pet here - don't believe everything they tell you and get a second opinion.

They have desexed one of our dogs and were thorough and regular in communication and checkups. Recently we purchased two new kittens who were having trouble settling in and vomiting, I'd done my research and was concerned so I booked them in to be checked. it was great to have my thoughts confirmed and the advice for dehydration and good food management. They have bounced back overnight and I am so glad I had them checked to ensure they were healthy. Great team, always friendly and helpful. They even have dog washes on site, and a real character of a clinic cat.

On one occasion he got into a dust-up with a feline foe and after a couple of days of limping around tragically we bit the (financial) bullet and took him into Grange Vet Surgery for a look- over. The girl on reception was great to deal with when booking and on arrival, and the vet we saw is brilliant- my Max fell in love with her. I wish I could remember her name to recommend her. Thankfully his injuries were nothing to be concerned about and after a quick antibiotic injection and a (very reasonably priced, thankfully) payment we were on our way. I'll definitely bring him back next time he decides to have a biff, but I hope it's not for a while.

Friendly service but a little pricey…read more My silly bird (that I'd only had for a few weeks) broke a feather and started bleeding all over the place. He was still chirping but I was freaking out! I hurriedly booked in after checking that they look after birds (via their website). When I arrived I was informed they rarely see birds, but recommended a great vet practice that did (The Bird Vet, Chermside) - but they also did a quick 5 minute check on my squealing cockatiel and assured me he'll live after finding he just split a blood feather. I was reassured and happy, and a little surpised that a simple quick consult was $40 worth. Would certainly take a dog or cat there if I had them. (I can't, the cat would eat the bird and the dog would eat the cat!)
