We were a tad late picking him up because the train was running behind but they said it wasn't a problem and we got him just in the nick of time. They even allow dogs to spend the night, if the train is late, free of charge!! Since I don't speak dog I can't 100% say how Smax enjoyed himself but he seemed tuckered our and happy to see me at the end of a long day of playing! I highly recommend this place for pups because they are very affordable, friendly staff, and located right down the street from the train!

We were in Durango to take the Durango-Silverton narrow gauge steam train that…read moredeparts Durango shortly after 8am and because this place is not in town we had no choice but to board the furry friend for two nights so we dropped the pooch the night before the trip When I called from Silverton I was told that because he is very submissive and non aggressive they were going to isolate him for the night so others wont make him feel as scared with all the barking. At the time they were only open until 6pm so knowing the train arrived at 6 there was no way we could be there to pick him up the day of the trip so that is why we paid for the second night, and I see now that their hours have been extended until 7:30pm , when we got there the morning of the third day and they went to get him, it took a while for the handler to come back but when the handler finally came with the dog we were surprised to see that the dog would not stop complaining very loudly and when I took him outside he had me use three poop bags and gave me the impression he had been holding for a whole day or so. He peed like he had drank a litter of water all at once Apparently nobody checked on him on the other side of the building where it was more quiet. He complained all the way back to where we were staying like we have never seen before, he made a point and I promised myself not to ever board him anymore anyplace, you never know how well they communicate with each other. However, my experience with Durango Pet Sitting was so perfect in every way they deserve five stars! We were traveling to the Durango area from California for a vacation. I was SO concerned about finding the right sitter for our pup while we toured around (ATV rides, rafting, etc.) and I'm so glad I chose Durango Pet Sitting because everything went perfect. First, the communication before and during our pup Ivy's visit was clear, timely and Cheryl never failed to respond to a message and clearly communicated and understood what our requests for Ivy were. Second, Cheryl perfectly executed our plan to visit Ivy at our campground. She was there at the times we requested (one day she visited Ivy 3'x in one day). She sent a text message after each visit and with pictures of our little lady. Finally, I should mention I own a couple of pet sitting businesses (don't think Cheryl knows this) so my expectations are through the roof when caring for dogs. Cheryl is amazing and we will use her services again should we be traveling this way in the future.

In general, it just feels like a boutique now. It's clean, well thought out, there are fancy, cool items, and a few more affordable things. If that's what you're after, you'll probably enjoy this thrift store. I guess I'm still stuck in the past, when it was truly affordable and had a wider range of items. When it really felt like a thrift store. Now, whenever I go there, I leave with nothing. For the first time in her short life, we had to leave her at the vet's overnight for a TPLO surgery. In the lead-up to the surgery, Dr. Kirsten provided us with direct, clear information and presented us with our various options. In contrast to the clinic where we nearly had the TPLO surgery done, Dr. Kirsten and her staff were deeply understanding when I started sobbing when dropping Lunchbox off. Dr. Kirsten's love for dogs is palpable and I felt fully confident that I was leaving my precious dog in capable, loving, and compassionate hands. Lunchbox was so well cared for while at HSW and the entire staff went out of their way to avoid incurring extra charges for us, to make Lunchbox comfortable, and to make the entire experience as painless and minimally traumatic as possible. Post-surgery communication with the office was wonderful, and they fielded my stressed-out phone calls for days afterward with grace and patience. Durango is lucky to have such wonderful veterinary care available!

Her office has a small town feel, she knows my pups by name, and has wonderful flexibility to ensure they have the best care. For example, my dogs have a history of adverse vaccine reactions. She ensured that they were seen in the morning (a time when she typically performs surgery) so if they had a reaction I could call her office instead of paying emergency vet fees. Getting over the holidays, planning a trip, and sick from food poisoning - I head down to them and give them as many details about the situation that I can. To which the "vet" whom we don't normally see - interrupted answers to her own questions, didn't bother looking at his charts, made us both extremely uncomfortable. When she suggested taking him to the back to clip the area, my dog reacted - as well as I. I could tell by her energy I didn't want her alone with my dog. Sure enough he gets on the table to he looked at, in his butthole so he is nervous and she's shouting "sedation sedation". After getting it trimmed, she tells me he has a tumor. As my eyes water up because my 8 year old Aussie has been just diagnosed with a tumor she asked me, why I'm crying? I go on to answer this stupid question and then say, what's next. "Well surgery, do you have any questions?" I think I lost it then, I had many questions to which she wouldn't have cared or answered in my opinion. With no answers or previous information on tumors, to belittle and be condescending on someone trying to get an idea of what to do when this was a completely unexpected turnout. We immediately left, switched vets, and I have told everyone I can about this. I will beconsistently be warning people of this place.
