Alex and his team were fantastic! I'd highly recommend them. From the start, Alex was extremely responsive (called me back within 20 seconds and gave me a quote very quickly after that.) He was able to make sure the clean up of our site was taken care of ASAP and finished the job right away. Truly exceeded all my expectations, especially because I gave him a call on Friday afternoon and he/his crew started our job very early Saturday morning. We're really appreciative of that! He was super easy to work with and has impeccable customer service, not to mention him and his team do a fantastic job. Our site looks great after their visit. I'm excited to work with him on future jobs! You'll be in good hands if you go with Castro's. read more

Working on a property in the Bay Area and I Made a couple calls to have some trash hauled and wasn't able to get ahold of anyone . So I headed back , as soon as I was passing Berkeley my phone rang and it was Castro's , I def wasn't up for turning around but he offered to go take care of the Job and I could just sent him the money using what ever app was convenient for me . So at first of course this sounds to good to be true but then he says he will take pictures of before and after and I pay him when he's done . So that definitely worked for me , he originally bid $600 just off of the pictures I sent him which I knew was pretty cheap for all of the trash that was at the property, so then we he called and told me it would be a couple hundred more and apologized for the Miscommunication I had no problem with paying him the difference. The work turned out to be second to none and I am very happy with the communication provided especially considering I was located in Sacramento at the time the work was taking place . Be confident in hiring this crew if your looking for honest workers who will get the job done. read more

Unreliable. I scheduled a move with them. Texted that they could not do the job after we made the arrangement. He apparently overbooked and left me with no recourse. There should be compensation for companies that don't follow thru. read more

What luck, my calling Castro's Hauling. I can only say that when I read the reviews before actually hiring Castro's Hauling, I really thought, wait a minute, these are all too good to be true. So I was a bit apprehensive. But, knock me over with a feather, Alex and Irwin were professional and friendly and fabulous and the price was so fair. Believe me, I compared. Do NOT hesitate to use this business for your hauling needs. And everything that everyone else says here is True! read more

Short Review: Overall, we're very happy with Castro's Hauling, and we highly recommend it to those looking for a reliable, reasonably priced junk removal service! Long Review: We were moving out of our Berkeley apartment and had junk we needed to get rid of. Our goal was to find a reliable junk removal company with fair pricing. We were particularly concerned about companies that would quote us at a certain price but then significantly increase the price on the day of service. After much research -- we looked at Yelp, Facebook, Instagram, and Google reviews -- we chose Castor's Hauling. We finished moving out of our apartment today, and Castro's Hauling proved to be the correct choice. 5/5 for Pricing: After reviewing about 10 quotes, we determined that Castro's Hauling had some of the best quotes. There was another company with comparable pricing, but we were drawn to the fact that Alex, the owner of Castro's, is a young entrepreneur, and we wanted to support that. 5/5 for Communication: When we reached out for a quote, Alex promptly responded. Alex continuously and diligently kept in touch with us to confirm appointment times and for various updates. 5/5 for Customer Service: We ended up needing to get rid of more junk than anticipated, so after Alex and his team efficiently completed the original job, we asked Alex to come by again the next day to clean out more junk. Alex squeezed us in for a next-day service, and gave us a fair pricing for that as well. 5/5 for Demeanor: Echoing the many reviews here, Alex is a polite, young man. From our interaction with Alex, we can say that he's mature, honest, and a hard worker. read more

I was very hesitant on using any type of moving company bcuz of the over pricing etc. Most importantly being a woman and being ripped off..Sad but true. So I decided to look at the different post made with this company on yelp. In addition, One of my coworkers gave me a thumbs up. What I like about this company is the professionalism and "Nonjudgmental attitude". When I tell you, I had JUNK the word is an understatement. I would give Alex 500000000 stars..They cleared out 2 bedrooms, a living room and kitchen. The price is right up front and it was worth it. So my fellow Yelp seekers, if you need hauling call Alex..You will not be sorry read more

Super professional! Called on short notice and he came into SF to remove dead trees and granite potters. Couldn't believe it when he told me he was still in high school. Came prepared and was in and out exactly like he said he would be and cleaned it up nicely. Will be using again. read more

I contacted Castro's Hauling through the Yelp request a quote function and heard from them within minutes. The quote was significantly lower than the other one I received as well, so that was nice. We were able to set up a same day appointment and I got regular updates on an ETA. The big pile of dirt in my driveway was gone and meticulously swept up within maybe 15 minutes and I was able to pay through any of several apps. It was a great experience and I am definitely going to use Castro's Hauling again and recommend them at any opportunity. TLDR: just pick these guys! read more

We used Alex and his team for cleanup and demolition hauling from landscape bed after our window installation work. Alex has all the business qualities besides a delightful personality that would make a customer happy: prompt response to our work request; kept us informed of his expected arrival time, had a professional ready to work attitude, finished work promptly and ensured that work was done to our satisfaction. We would highly recommend Alex to anyone else and will surely call him again when we need him. read more

These guys moved all my possessions from one rental to another. They were careful, professional, and very pleasant to deal with. I called Alex and he responded within 30 minutes. My backyard was full of all kinds of crap = old metal, carpet, appliances, old wood, exercise bikes, random junk = you name it. Alex and his crew came by a couple hours later and went to town = completely cleaned it out. I used to do labor like Alex is doing and I know how hard it is. He was exceptionally polite, professional, friendly and full of integrity. I wouldn't hesitate a second to hire Castro's for another job. And on top of it all, his quote was less than what I was expecting to pay. A job well done. read more

This is one of the worst hauling company that I hired no type of respect I think they woke up in the other side of the bed or something they did a horrible job so I had them take out a bed out my room and they end up braking 2 of my lamps and didn't tell me nothing until I notice it that it was on the floor all broken and Castro is going to have the balls to tell me it wasn't them and when they were taking out the bed they left scratches on my door and the little kid I think he around 12 wasn't working hard they didn't clean up the mess they did worst hauling company and they arrive to my house late super late Castro was in a bad moon don't hire this company I say you guys have a man do the job not a little boy like him like why make a company if you aren't going to treat them good!! read more

Responsive and professional. Wanted them to pick up some furniture and scheduled for a Friday at 5:30. Which turned into 7 and then 8:30. My mother's assisted living place doesn't allow visitors after 8 so I told him I would find another company. He was very responsive and offered a discount for the inconvenience but getting the furniture hauled away was the urgent part. I thought his original quote was reasonable. I would try him again if time wasn't the problem. read more
