The teachers (Mrs Irene, Ms Megan, Mrs Jennifer...), are exceptional--caring, patient, dedicated, and deeply committed to each child's growth and development. They foster a warm, nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported, and eager to learn each day. Our children have thrived here thanks to the incredible staff and the strong sense of community the school provides. We are incredibly grateful for the positive impact this preschool has had on our family and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a caring and high-quality early education experience.

Even though she was in class with specific teachers, all of the teachers interacted with the kids during recess, lunch, and nap times. Miss Patty, Miss Mary, Miss Caryn, Miss Megan, Miss Irene, Miss Jennifer, and Miss Claudia were all so caring and loving to my little girl. They made going to school a happy experience for her. Even the office staff knew who all the kids were. Miss Giaconda knew every single child's name and was always happy to support and encourage them.

By the time kids and teachers get settled in, time has already passed so it makes sense to optimize the time by having longer periods. Sports were also great. Chaminade offers various sports to boys and girls. My son enjoyed football. It is a Catholic school which really only means that they take a religion class and there are masses for the various holidays but there are also many non-Catholic students there. The themes disussed in the religion classes vary from Old Testament to New Testament to STD education. The main "complaint" my son had was that many of the children starting in the ninth grade went to the Chaminade middle school so they already knew each other and this made it harder for him to make friends. Football helped him a lot with this problem but I still think it is ideal for a child to stay with the same group for middle school into high school. Finally, I am happy with this high school because my son did well on his SATs and I think that it can partially be attributed to Chaminade.

My daughter has been attending Frost Middle School for the past two years, and she truly loves it…read more One of the things that stands out most to me is the school's positive and inclusive environment. She often shares that, from her personal experience, she has not witnessed any bullying, and that students are respectful toward one another--especially toward students with autism. As a parent of a young boy with special needs, it means a great deal to know there is a place where children feel accepted, supported, and included. The teachers we have had interactions with are kind, dedicated, and genuinely supportive of their students' growth. The school also offers a wide variety of after-school activities and academic programs that help students thrive. For example, they have a Highly Accelerated Math Program, and students even have the opportunity to take early college courses through LA Mission College to begin earning college credits. The music department is exceptional. They consistently participate in competitions, and Mr. R does an incredible job teaching jazz, mariachi, orchestra, band, and strings. It's impressive how much he accomplishes, all while maintaining such a positive and encouraging attitude. My daughter especially enjoys his class. Additionally, the robotics team is outstanding--they placed in the top 10 at the LAUSD Finals Championship last year. The robotics teacher is very supportive and inspiring to the students. Overall, I have had a very positive experience with the school and no complaints. I highly recommend Frost Middle School to any family looking for a supportive and enriching environment for their child.

Chaminade College Prep is one of the best Catholic Middle Schools & High Schools in Los Angeles…read moreCounty. There are personal statements, short essays, 2 letters-if-rec (1 from current teacher & 1 from school principal), STAR test, transcripts, & interviews that are part of the entrance requirements process. In 2025, the middle school instituted an HONORS math placement testing option. The middle school does have honors algebra and geometry until the 8th grade. Mrs Mary Guerra is the head admissions person and she's absolutely amazing and wonderful. Mrs Lotta is also extremely helpful and resourceful. The head of the math department is Mrs Cheek. She's very strict, tough, & extremely helpful to students. Mrs. Sipping who teaches history and religion is both relatable & kind. It can be said that Chaminade isn't without bad teachers, as most schools will have plenty of those. Sports at Chaminade is a big thing because this is how the school and the students attract college & university scholarships. SJE school is one of the biggest feeder school to Chaminade. Just this year we sent 12 fifth graders & 4 eighth graders to Chaminade. So of course the students will know each other and hang out with each other. Chaminade middle school has an 8 House System, like Harry Potter, & this is where kids have a chance to make friends at all levels of the school. I can see and understand that if you start at the Chaminade high school level that it can be tough to adjust. However, if your kids start at the middle school, they will have adjusted and created a pattern of learning and achieving which will propel them in high school. I do recommend Chaminade without any reservations. There's so much to do here, starting at their middle school, that you can't even believe!!

Parking is really bad for those attending a football game as most of us visiting the football field had to park up a long hill, far from the field. No problem as I had to get additional steps in for my Fitbit but it was still as very long walk nonetheless. The field itself does not have a visitor side and a home side. All visitors sit on the same side of the field as the home fans which was definitely a first for many of us. I get it, there is a hill on the opposite side so seating on the west side of the field is impossible. The field is beautiful as is the baseball field asian to the football/soccer field. Nothing against the school itself. Simply offering my opinion of the field. When teams are battling at the opposite side of the field, it is very difficult to watch the game bcos everything is soooo far away. The visitors bleachers were sooo small that MANY fans were turned away. In this case, the early bird got the worm. Fun was still had by all and our team squeezed out a victory so life is good.

My ECC student is thriving in their play-based program, and I'm equally impressed by what I see in the grades. What stands out: Teachers are genuinely cared for (you can feel it in how they show up) Outdoor learning is central, not an afterthought Learning is experienced through hands, heart, and mind (and truly offline and not through a screen) Warm, open community that walks the talk Upper school students are bright, engaged, and have real relationships with each other Academic excellence through curiosity, not pressure The slower pace in early years is intentional--less rote memorization, more wonder and deep learning. It teaches families that thriving happens through joy and community, not grinding. Don't let tuition stop you from exploring. The financial assistance program is robust and real.
