The ceiling is adorned with sprawling vines and white lights. Colours of yellow, white and blue are the palette for the decor. I was there for a special birthday dinner, party of 12. We were seated together and the menu was set. For the next 2 hours the lovely waitress and one of the owners, Marie, brought us appetizer after appetizer. She quickly removed dirty dishes and freshened our drinks. The night started with warm bread, Homous and Tzatziki followed by Greek salad. Then they brought out the hot appetizers: Saganaki Greek Cheese, Dolmades, Keftedes and Loukaniko. I only ate the bread and Homous however my family was raving about all of it especially the Saganaki Greek Cheese. For the main dishes we were served Roast Lamb Kleftiko and Chicken Souvlaki with vegetables, roast potatoes, rice and Tzatziki. The potatoes were moist with a wonderful lemon flavour. Many members of my family were not fans of lamb. However, after trying it they loved it. As for vegan options I was really limited here. But the service was amazing. The couple who owns this place are warm and sincere. The experience alone was worth eating a lot of potatoes and bread.

Not greasy and full of flavour. The sagonaki cheese was rich and salty. All the dips were amazing. I loved the eggplant one, but they were all really great. The grape rolls were well constructed and delicous and I tried to ignore the amount of oil that sopped up all the rice. The only thing that I wasn't a super fan of was the chicken. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the lay out is typical of what you would expect in a Greek restaurant - more open concept than booth like. My husband, a donair connoisseur, loves the donairs here. Although my go-to is the souvlaki and chickpea spinach salad (SOOO tasty), everything we've had here has been excellent. The restaurant is licensed and has lamb specials on Thursday and Friday. We haven't done so but noticed they have an "order on-line" and catering service (which is at an excellent price).

Zambelli's was quite busy, but we received outstanding and quality service by Edna our server. The two dishes, with unexceptional food cost us around $80 with tip. we had nothing else, no hors d'ouvres no alcohol, no drinks except water. Hubs was happy with the falafel - easily a meal for two or a snack later on. I'd give Sandcastle steakhouse another try if here for a long weekend and on the hunt for meat. It's just a few blocks past the busy part of Sylvan Lake and significantly cheaper than the trendy spots. It's dark inside which is probably perfect on a super hot sunny day. And there's a cute oversized wooden bench when you come in that is castle themed which I imagine kiddos quite like.
