It's right in downtown Sumner so it's easy for people to pop right in, but there were others who were also working remotely for the day. Lots of seating, lots of plug ins, and free wifi. I love how bright and airy it is here, too. Definitely is the best spot for a sunny spring or summer day. On Tuesdays, they do $5 Taco Tuesday which is such a steal! For $5 you get two tacos with your protein of choice (carne asada or chicken). I decided to try this since I got the quesadilla last time. Some of the cuts of meat were pretty grisly/fatty which was a bit of a turn off, but overall they were good. I also got the chips, salsa, and guac on the side. I think next time I would skip the salsa as it was super chunky and not a salsa texture at all, and had no kick to it. The guac was really good though! I wouldn't say it's the best coffee shop I've ever been to, but the atmosphere here is so bright and cheery that I'll definitely still keep coming back when I'm looking for a change of scenery that isn't my desk at home! Plus, did I mention they have mimosa flights?

While other cafes are out here with names like "The Daily Grind" or "Beans & Dreams," Ben just walked in and said "Yeah, it's my espresso joint. Deal with it." The apostrophe in "Ben's" - PERFECTION. The way it curves like a coffee bean that's achieved enlightenment. That tiny punctuation mark is doing more emotional heavy lifting than a barista during morning rush. It's saying "This is Ben's place" with the confidence of someone who knows exactly what they're doing with horseradish pudding. OH YES, THE HORSERADISH PUDDING. Let's pause our name appreciation to discuss this crime against traditional dessert expectations that somehow works so well it makes me question everything I know about dairy-based foods. It's like if wasabi decided to go to culinary school, dropped out, and then achieved its dreams anyway. The way it simultaneously clears your sinuses and soothes your soul is nothing short of supernatural. But back to that name - BEN'S ESPRESSO. Three syllables of pure naming nirvana. I've started a weekly appreciation circle where we just stand around saying "Ben's Espresso" in different tones of voice while eating spoonfuls of that magnificent root vegetable pudding concoction. Sometimes we cry. Sometimes we laugh. Sometimes our nasal passages achieve transcendence. The name is so perfect that other coffee shops have been seen adding unnecessary words to their names out of sheer intimidation. But you can't compete with perfection. Unfortunately the store was out of Lavender from what I was told and out of soup. The only 2 kids of chips on hand were Cheetos and Doritos. Ordered a half of the sandwich with mustard, lettuce, tomato, cheese and cucumber. What I received was a roast beef sandwich with mayo, mustard, red onion, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and cheese. Now, first of all I was already concerned because the lady who makes the sandwich's was giving off some weird vibes and she didn't write down my order. In my opinion a sizable tip. My total was eight dollars and some change. I left a four dollar tip for providing a decent service. Since discovering a stomach ulcer I can only eat certain kinds of food and I am beyond disappointed with the sandwich. Unable to eat something I paid for is sad plus I'm now 20 minutes away and can't return to request another one. If this café does not want to serve people like me they should put up a right to refuse service and then people who look like me won't come in to their establishment to order food and pay for something at the can't eat. They have a ton of different syrups to choose from that you can ask and they just may have it. The gals here are so sweet and very good at hand crafting your drink. They unfortunately do not do blended drinks but they can do everything else. Don't forget to ask for your punch card either, 10 equals a free drink. You can keep your punch card with you or ask the ladies nicely to! You can't just pass this coffee stand, even if there are so many just along the same road. They aren't a bikini barista, the lines are long because the coffee they make is so damn good.
