Painting work turned out great. Communication was terrible. After weeks of not hearing after I accepted the quote I called to which they said they would be out Monday at 8:00 am. I took the day off work and at 9:00 when nobody was here called them for them to say a job last week ran long and they would be out at 7:00 am tomorrow. I said ok. Later that night they call and confirm. Things happen. Take off work the next day. 9:00 nobody here. Call again. Oh someone called in sick we will be there tomorrow. Third day they finally showed up. After wasting 2 vacation days to sit and wait around with no communication I will not be using the company again. read more

I had used Castle painting previously on both painting and carpentry trim work. I was pleased each time. This time was a nightmare. I had an estimate in early May for repair of exterior trim. I accepted the estimate in mid May. In mid June I began texting & calling Nick to find out when the work would be scheduled. This took multiple attempts on my part. He finally called me and said he would schedule it for July 31. The morning of July 31, hearing nothing, I called the office to see when they were coming. The owner Rick called and told me I was no longer on the schedule because of other client " emergency ". So on on Friday August 4 a carpenter Kevin, shows up to look at work - He says he has to go find matching trim and leaves. 2 hours later he calls to tell me some of the trim needs to be custom. I agreed to pay an extra amount. 3 weeks later I ask the owner the status. Kevin shows up and does horrible work and slaps on paint I already have; after two times having him come out, I asked for him not to come again & send painters to caulk, sand and paint - they did a great job but told me one of the boards was not cut correctly - the project manager eventually came out and replaced it himself. This was now mid September ( 4 months from approving work). On 9/27 an invoice was sent with carpentry work that had not been completed. I sent an email questioning this to owner Rick & project manager Brian - a week later - no response ! Worst customer service and carpentry work I have ever experienced. read more

Do NOT use Castle Painting. We got charged $1,500 to have the railings and risers painted on our outdoor front porch steps and back porch steps. 2 painters came to our house to do the work. Told us it was too hot to do the full job in one day. Took 2 Days to complete because one painter slept in the van while the other painted. They left the first dat after being at our house for 2 hours. Came back day 2, repeat of the day before. Did not prime, did not apply two coats of paint, as was agreed in our contract. Poor, sloppy incomplete work, complained to manager and got no where with him. He would not return our calls. Extremely frustrated and disappointed! read more

Our experience with Castle was poor. We hired Castle earlier this year to paint baseboards, doors & frames, and install wainscoting. After repeated issues with the proposal's accuracy, we decided to move forward as our sales guy gave us confidence that Castle's prep/work process would yield great results. Unfortunately, the process the sales guy outlined was not followed (bait & switch). It was a hasty prep & application, our finished result looked horrible - gloppy, streaky paint, while other areas lacked proper coverage. I've never seen paint applied so poorly & frankly they should've been embarrassed. I got pretty upset & Castle did send painters back to fix the issue & they replaced our door casings. The final result is ok, but not great. My husband's work is far superior. We're still not over the bad experience. We've worked with a lot of contractors and renovated 2 homes - Castle was by far the worst experience we've had. Save your money - there's better painters out there. read more

Referred to by a friend who had a good experience. Ours was anything but that. Our job was to be completed in 2 days, it took 4. Painters told us twice, the "job was completed", it was sloppy. Feel free to contact me about our whole nightmare with this company. They're overpriced, sloppy and NOT trustworthy. The attached pictures are after the painters left and told us they were done. Joe and James painted our two story family room a few years ago and it turned out fantastic. Last year, we specifically requested them do my room, my bathroom, my mom's room, and her bathroom. I had the hardest time picking out the perfect color. I asked James to swatch the first color I chose because I wasn't sure about it. Luckily he did because it was too yellow. James was very nice and painted my room a beautiful light neutral with pale peachy-pink undertones that I color-matched from an eyeshadow. Everything was so precise and perfect. Just this week, Joe came over to paint our dining room, living room, and powder room. Everything looks great! They're very punctual and efficient. Based on recommendation of our neighbors, we hired Castle Painting to repair,then paint our window sills and trims, The carpenters, Dave , Kevin and others were wonderful, they were on time, 8 AM sharp, very courteous and did a very good job,They even preserved the bird nest by one of the window and now the robin chicks are thriving. The absolute worst experience ever. I had Jose come out and bid on our job, we had an old entryway closet turned into a seating area and nook, complete with shelves for storage. We talked about the nook in detail on what exactly we wanted to be painted​... which was the entire area, shelves and all because it wasn't primed after it was installed. He walked about how I would have to remove everything so they could finish and fill the holes and whatnot​. Their quote was a bit less than the others, so we went ahead with the work. After they pushed our project out 3x, they showed up and after 3 hours of work tell me they​ aren't going to paint then nook as I had asked. And, they were going to charge another $300 to do so. I went back and forth with Jose over the phone and couldn't believe he actually thought I only wanted the trim, not the entire closet painted. I had to kick them out and there is zero chance I'd recommend them to anyone for future work. read more

Our 11 year old cedar deck had been stained with transparent stain annually, was was starting to look pretty sad, even after the annual cleaning and re-staining. We had used Castle in the past for interior work and liked them so we had them take a look and give us an estimate. We went with Cabot solid redwood colored stain and are totally happy with the end result. Castle did a great job prepping and painting - it looks like a new deck! Very disappointed in this company. Used them to paint one room and paint and repair the ceiling. Their proposal was similar to others, but having used them before to paint our exterior, decided to stick with them. At the last minute, I noticed some caulking that needed to be done and asked if they could take care of that as well. I guess I should have known better than to ask for work without a written price, but I never expected to be charged another 30% for a job requiring less than one hour. Questioning this excessive pricing was fruitless. Will NOT be using them again. . read more

Awesome job! We had the exterior of our home painted by Castle in the fall of 2014. We had several estimates, and not only was theirs lower--the job they did was impeccable. All of their painters were experienced, neat, and efficient. They were incredibly hard working and knocked out the big job of our house in a few days with a large crew. Used quality materials, took off the downspouts to paint both them and under them. I would not hesitate to hire them again. Had a tremendous experience with these guys. They were available on a pretty short notice and beat our timeline by a day. The attention to detail and quality of the work is outstanding, going to far as to fix cracks and poor taping before they painted. I have just had my new home painted by Castle, and could not be happier. I worked with Jim on getting a quote, he was professional and very open and honest about the work that his team would be doing, and how much it would cost. I received a very competitive quote from Jim, and was happy to move forward with the project. Jim introduced me to Joe, who too was professional and provided me with all the info I would need for the work being done on the house. Both the guys were very responsive to emails and phone calls, and did their best to work around my schedule. Jim very kindly met me literally on the afternoon I closed on the house, to check out the paint samples because I could not be at the house on the day the team started working. I stopped by the house on day 2 and already the team had done a great job, and were half way through the job. The final result is amazing!
