I had a low pressure warning and I had watched it for a couple of days. I knew I was swinging by commerce to visit property and usually, small town businesses just seem to be more fair about how they treat customers.
This is not a fancy tire shop with a nice waiting room (there isn't one at all). It looks like what it is, a small town tire shop run by locals.
I assume the man that helped me was the namesake, but not sure. I explained the situation and he explained it could be the weather fluctuations we have had. He aired all the tires up to pressure and said as low as this one was in comparison to the others, he thought it must have an issue. He takes the tire off and dips it in the tank. He looks at me, smiles and says, nope. No leaks he could see. He said to watch it as it could be a valve issue but he thinks it was fine.
I asked him what I owed and he shook his head and said nothing. I told him he is an honest man and I wouldn't leave without paying him something. I pulled out a Bill (nothing crazy) and he said let me get you some change. I said no sir, that is for you. I appreciate you helping me out.
I don't know when I will have another tire issue, but if I am near Castillo's, I will come here.
One other thing. I asked him if he could grease the bearings on my trailer tires and instead of saying sure, he said he could recommend someone who could do a better job. Living in a metro area, it is hard to find and honest group who doesn't try and upsell you or tell you need to change something when you don't. I miss this about living in a small town. read more
