But I would not recommend this place to anyone because the guy that work in the place always find a to charge you ridiculous prices like for example white rice, bean, and avocado 12 dollars smh so if you do find yourself going to this place I would recommend talking to the women in the restaurant and not the guy. I love a restaurant that serves authentic Dominican food which taste "homemade". The service is great and the portions are even better. I've become a regular here and each time I order the delivery comes quick and there are never any issues whatsoever. Strongly recommend. Some people have bad review about the chicken palm. It's a Dominican restaurant for crying out loud. Would you go buy a fish in a steakhouse? Absolutely not. So don't judge based on a plate that is not even Dominican. Thanks! read more

When chatting with one of my son's co-workers he mentioned in passing that this was a good place to grab lunch. So when, a couple of weeks ago, the wife decides she wants Mexican I say I know a place we can try. So OK, this place is Dominican, not Mexican but hey, good eats is good eats. Anyway, we hit the place around 3:00 pm on Saturday afternoon. Fairly quite with only 3 other occupied tables. The first thing I noted was that English is not the primary language for any of the wait staff. This doesn't appear to be a major issue for them however because, as far as I could tell from the 2 visit so far, most of the customer are Spanish speaking anyway. And there is one waitress (who served us both times) who has passable English and the menu are in both languages and provide good detail on each dish so if worse comes to worse, you can just point. Language issues aside, the staff is pleasant and attentive. So the wife orders a side of sweet plantains and a what amounts to there version of a chicken parm platter. This served with you choice of rice and choice of beans. She choose the yellow rice with the red beans. I ordered the roasted chicken with white rice and green beans. The first thing you will notice when the food is served is the portion size. They are huge! In my wife's case she was served two large cutlets that literally took up the entire plate, along with another fairly large plate of rice and a decent size bowl of beans. My chicken has probably at least a full half chicken if not more and again, pretty much took up the plate. My rice and bean were served in the same quantities as my wife's. Today, we decided the the place tasted like "more" literally, as we basically order the same things. Except this time the wife ordered the brown rice with black beans mixed in which I didn't even have to ask what she thought of it as she devoured the entire plate! They didn't have the green beans today so I went with the red. I like the green better, but the red are OK. My wife decide to try the homemade flan today. She loved it and said it actually tasted homemade. On both visits we each had at least half of our meals wrapped to go. And when we got home our 21 year old scoffed that down in quick order so apparently he really likes it too! As for the prices, you can't beat em. Both of these entrees are 7.99. 7.99! There are places around here that would charge that for just the rice and beans! On both visits our check, with beverages, was under $23 The bottom line on this place is you are not getting anything fancy. I guess it's Dominican "comfort food." What you are getting is fairly large quantity of decent food, for a really reasonable price. I expect that we will become regulars at Castillo! read more

My husband and I were told about this place a few years ago so we have been going here about 3 years. The food is consistently good and reasonable. If you are looking for ambiance and a view this is not the place for you. This is a family run business with traditional Dominican comfort food. Its not trendy or hip but they have good eats that will not blow your budget. We have ordered out and everything is always fresh and hot. Have tried most if not all of the chicken and beef dishes and they are all winners. Both the flan and the sweet plantains are nice. Four main dishes with rice and beans plus one desset will cost just shy of $40. The restaurant has its own parking lot which is a big plus. read more

Very disappointed. My chicken Parmesan was over cooked. The plantains were refried. The mofongo was nothing but hard.
