Sometimes vintage can look costume-y but the owners here have an eye for finding quality fabrics and pieces that you can easily incorporate into a modern wardrobe. Viviane and I pulled a bunch of playful pieces and it honestly felt like we were playing dress-up before a date in a rom-com. The racks were full of colorful, sparkly things and it was impossible not to get into the spirit of it. I decided to lean all the way in and pick something a little funky to show up in. Viviane even found the perfect silly hat to tie the whole look together. She allowed me to get ready in the dressing room since I don't live in Truckee. She even turned on a little space heater for me to stay warm. She gave me a great deal and even gifted the gloves as well as a rose quartz crystal. It's definitely harder to navigate than other thrift…read morestores like Plato's Closet because the clothes aren't organized by size -- you have to really sort through EVERYTHING which is kind of annoying, but it's a small enough store that it also doesn't take very long to do. I have also gotten so many random things like books, kitchen wares, decorations, etc., so there are lots of hidden gems. Generally speaking, it's a solid value for the items, but there is some variability and sometimes you'll get a screaming deal but other times it's more aligned with what you'd hope to be paid for an item you're selling. However, I have found lots of awesome pieces I wouldn't have otherwise been able to afford, so it's definitely worth looking around! It's also nice to know you're supporting a great cause. I see that some reviewers had negative experiences with employees, but I am a local and have frequented this store, and have never had a bad experience with an employee. Some people are just always going to find a reason to complain -- it's a thrift store, the prices are fair, and while it may not have what you wanted or things that catch your eye, the inventory is always changing!
