The menu is uneven and should be approached conservatively and with reduced expectations. This is not anywhere near San Francisco's Cafe Gratitude. We had a minestrone-like pea soup which was nice and the green salad which came with the signature Strongwich. Both were fresh and good. I particularly appreciated the vibrant salad with its shredded beets and carrots topped with ground black sesame. The signature Strongwich, presented beautifully open-faced in a glowing snow of brewer's yeast, was awful in every other possible way: nearly impossible to eat with one's hands, overly dense, an unpleasant riot of flavors, textures, and densities. Although generally an adventurous eater, this is one of those trips I'd rather not take. They have a curious selection of medicinal teas which are steeped for months. Had I been less put off by the Strongwich one of them might have headed off the upset stomach I had the rest of the day.

She never said hello, goodbye, or thank you. It was so dismissive. We rang up our orders at different times, but by the time we met back on the street to find our car, we were like; "was that woman a bitch or what!!!" We both had the same experience.
