Avocado Hummus and Truffle Fries
Niki T.

Great option for happy hour ! We got $7 margarita and Avocado Hummus, Truffle Fries and happy hours pizzas! Love coming here with my friends to share some drinks and snacks! Outside area is perfect for people watching! Service is always quick here!

Smoked Salmon Benedict

Love Cassis! Ate inside at the bar for brunch and ordered the salmon Benedict which was delicious. The bartender was so fun and kind. Ambience was bright by the window and such a nice open feeling. Great spot for brunch if it's a little too hot for patio. A lot TVs for sport games!

I was able to have Ann as my event manager for my birthday dinner. She was an absolute pleasure to work with. Extremely communicative and able to accommodate all requests. The food came out efficiently and all tasted amazing. We were able to decorate the area and had plenty of seating for all my guests!

Tiramisu $10 10/10
Anh T.

This place is perfection I LOVE LOVE this place! The tiramisu is the best I've ever had in my whole life! The mascarpone is sweet / dense & I love that only the lady finger cookie is only drenched in rum, not poured all over like most places. It's very moist & not dry. The last time I had Tiramisu in the area was at OLIVIA's restaurant & that was the worst tiramisu I've ever had in my life!!! It was extremely dry & very disturbingly terrible. I'm so thankful Cassis makes the best Tiramisu, will only be getting that at Cassis! Can't wait to come back!

I love Cassis- I love the food so much. It's pricy, but it's right on Beach Drive so that's to be expected. I went for brunch with my friends and we decided to split the variety of pastries and each get our own main. I got the smoked salmon frittata which was phenomenal. The salmon was fresh and my eggs were divine. The pastries were the hit of teh table though. My personal favorite was the almond croissant. The muffin was the tallest muffin I've ever seen. The cinnamon roll was a huge hit for my friends as well as the cheese danish. Overall, we were all obsessed with the baked goods. Service is hit or miss here, but the food is so worth the gamble.

Extremely salty wings
Jared H.

Awful service. Sat outside and completely ignored. Had to flag down server multiple times and he never seemed to care or realize. Never cleared plates. The highchair they gave us was disgustingly dirty. Wings were salty and would never get again Steak tartare was overpriced for what it was. I hate complaining but this was a very poor experience - Karen

Sunday - Slow-Roasted Prime Rib

This was my first time at Cassis and I enjoyed it so much. My server was very attentive and actually seemed like she was happy to be there. The steak was cooked perfectly along with this delicious chimichurri sauce. The mashed potatoes were great as well. I came on a Saturday night and was seated immediately. Overall I had a wonderful experience.

Sea scallops with potato hash at Cassis
Jared M.

The pan-seared sea scallops were good although fairly plain. It did not go well with the potato hash which was nothing more than a plate filler to me. I've previously tried their Good Form (4 cheese) pizza which was just average despite the high cost. The french onion soup was so incredibly salty and it fell short. The ambience however is very nice, bright and elegant inside.

Roasted Beet Salad

My sisters went to dinner here this weekend before going to a music performance. The food was excellent, the server was great and the outdoor seating was fun. We ordered the Brussels Sprouts as an appetizer. It was plenty to share. We each ordered the Roasted Beets Salad but we each had special requests for our salads. Mine was without onions. Another was with the onions and dressing on the side and the last one was with no cheese and no onions. They got all of them correct, which I thought was kind of impressive. The only thing I will say is there was food & a little trash on the ground that I stepped on when walking to the table and under our table. They just needed to sweep that out before seating us. It was great overall.

Espresso martini with bare nuts
Elle E.

I have been a big fan of Cassis and consistently tout their espresso martinis and mussels to anyone I come across. But during my last visit, I was disappointed on both counts. They have changed the menu and no longer offer the same mussels. Instead, they only offer a traditional white wine broth, and they were not willing or able to accommodate my request for their amazing Modelo dark beer broth version. Then came the espresso martini, which always comes with cocoa/sugar dusted peanuts as a sidecar. This time, the nuts were bare with the cocoa all on the bottom of the cone...so there was something wrong with how they prepared them.

We decided to have brunch at Cassis recently. We didn't have a reservation and decided to sit at the bar. We started with mimosas, then ordered food. Two of us ordered burgers and fries, while the third ordered breakfast food. My friend had specific instructions for her burger (well done, condiments on the side), and when the burger arrived, it was all wrong. The server took it back to be recooked. Twenty minutes later, after the other two of us had completed our meals, her new burger & fries arrived. After questioning, the late delivery burger was comped, but that wouldn't have happened without us speaking up.

Hummus appetizer from happy hour menu - WOW! Everyone at the table couldn't believe this was actually hummus with some saying this by far the best they've ever had and others saying they've never had it before but it looked too good to ignore and they were glad they did! Calamari - worth getting! Dips were also yummy. Greasy but worth ordering Margherita pizza from happy hour - fantastic! Chewy and tasty. Fish and chips - OH. MY. LANTA! This thing was MASSIVE LOL! But tasty fish. And the potatoes were absolutely amazing! No one enjoyed the malt vinegar dip though. Not sure what they were thinking with this one. It had a sweetness to it which is not what you're thinking when you think of fish dip. Ask for ketchup instead. Salmon salad - given all the food the smaller portion was perfect size. And just a heads up that the salmon is "smoked" (not cooked). Enjoyed it though! Creamy and tasty. Overall this was a solid 4 star plus meal. Our server, Jorge, was beyond amazing however!! Super bubbly and attentive. And the people watching and ambiance was also top notch. We will definitely return!!

Yellow fin snapper
Elizabeth B.

I stopped in for my birthday, and Cassis made it extra special-they offer a complimentary birthday dinner with a valid ID, which is such a nice touch. I chose the yellow snapper, served with Spanish rice and black beans, and it tied the dish together beautifully. everything was flavorful and perfectly cooked. My husband went with one of his favorites, the pan-seared sea scallops, which never disappoints. We both started with a cup of the tomato bisque-hot, rich, creamy and the perfect way to begin the meal. Cassis is on the pricier side, but the quality of the food, service and overall experience make it well worth the price. I love sitting outside and people-watch along Beach Drive, and they also have small bistro tables closer to the restaurant that are great for soaking in the atmosphere. Reservations are highly recommended as it can get busy on the weekends. Our server was excellent, checking in often and offering great recommendations for both food and drinks. Cassis also has several favorites I keep coming back to. The spicy crispy chicken sandwich is tasty, but for my personal taste, it isn't quite spicy enough and not always as crispy as I'd like. The chicken can sometimes be a bit soggy, which affects the bun and can cause it to fall apart. I'm a big fan of their pizzas, which have a thin, crispy, crunchy crust. If you stop by the market next door, the slices are huge-one is the perfect size for me. Cassis is always a winner on Beach Drive.

We came because we like French food and their menu had many of the things we like. We started with the Gazpacho, escargot, and oysters. No French onion soup! The gazpacho wasn't my favorite. It almost looked like slush and the taste wasn't what I expected. However, we expect differences in our expectations at a good restaurant. The escargot was a trip back in time by coming in shells with the tool to hold them. It was a trip to the past and they were fantastic. The half dozen of oysters were only $16 and outstanding. My wife ordered the burger...at a French restaurant, and it was juicy and tasty. I got a bite and agreed. Trout is something you don't see at many restaurants, if you do they are often French restaurants. Theirs was pretty good. We had a nice diner in their spacious space!

Service was friendly, quick and helpful and prices were more than fair for the flavor. We went for brunch and everything we had was very tasty- I didn't use a single condiment, which is rare the French toast was amazing. It's honestly the perfect amount (non American portion), but you will want that more. We also had the crêpe V something and the rustic omelette both exquisite. I will be happy ordering this every time, but I'm also curious to explore a few of the other options. The menu isn't super dense, but we're thinking of trying the sweet crêpe next time and maybe a desert. Pro tip add some of the syrupy whipped cream from your French toast to a cappuccino and enjoy. The sampler plate gives you a taste of many things, however, so much of the food is wheat based and more than likely sourced from the US not Morocco.. The environment was so cozy and magical. It was a wonderful feel and the food transported you to France. My spouse loved sitting in France outside and dining and the establishment reminded him of that. He lived there for several years. Then they moved to Indian Rocks Beach and since that move we had not been in. But a few months ago we found out where they moved to. Last night my son wanted to take us out to eat for Mother's Day since he has to work today. We happily drove 1 hour and 20 minutes to get there. The environment has lost its appeal and its mundane. Which is not the end because we came also for the food. My son ordered lamb chops which were one bite pieces of lamb on a the bone and there were 3. The gravey lacked any reduction and or flavour. It was pretty much tasteless. My spouse ate one of the chops to try it and agreed. I tasted the sauce off his plate. The cook on the lamb was good. My son was very disappointed as he loves lamb. When he said something to the women who owns it she brushed him off as it was no big deal and claimed no one has ever complained about the lamb before. Which is a blanted lie just look at the reviews. I personally find that hard to believe. I ordered Bouillabaisse, which is a personal favourite of mine. Due to her attitude towards my son I said nothing. I ate a few bites and took the rest home and threw it out. The scallops and shrimp are chewy. The monkfish was overcooked and the salmon was extremely fishy tasting. The only dinner item that was good was the Steak Diana that my husband ordered. After we ordered crème brulle missing its an upcharge for the flame it was served cold. The sugar crust was burnt and so thick it stuck to our teeth. We left part of it and all shared it instead of each of us ordering desserts. My son who paid thought maybe she didn't understand and thought he would say something before leaving because the meal at $190 with 1 beer in the mix was a bit high for food that was NOT good. She was cold and so what about it. So he left rather upset. Which upsets me. I find it hard to believe that being French or not one would care so little about their guests feeling were towards their food. For this reason we will not return. There are other French establishments that we can dine at and the fact that there is nothing I can't cook for myself. But sometimes I just like it made for me. It was for Mother's Day after all.
