Order an Italian beef. Paid and girl came over to told us they were out of Italian beef, would we like another sandwich. Told her a salad with a scoop of chicken salad. The girl brings our order then says we owe $1.95. Gave her our card and she processes to say they have a $6.00 fee to use a card. Told her she could take the salad and refund the sandwich. I got the carrot cake and while the icing was very sweet it was a very good cake! The two lady's that helped me at the front desk were absolutely amazing and sweet but I worry about their management and/or bakery staff. I tried to order a cake on both my breaks from work by phone but the line was always busy. When I went into the store I bought the cake and asked if they would do writing on the cake and both of the girls looked at each other like oh no did she actually ask that. I didn't think it would be a lot to ask for $40 cake just to get happy birthday written on it but they told me in a hushed voice that "she probably wouldn't do it, she doesn't like to unless people order it ahead of time" as if the owner or bakery staff would come around the corner upset with me if they even knew I asked. I didn't want to make a fuss so I just said okay and left with my cake but I probably won't be back just because I don't know how the staff is being treated and my common bakery request being seen as a big deal. :( read more

Oh my God!!!! They have THE BEST CHICKEN SALAD I have ever had!! If you follow me you know that every Tuesday I have a group of AWESOME Ladies (Lunch Buddies) that meet up for lunch. This is one of my favorite places because I always take home an extra container of chicken salad. They have other things on their menu but I swear by their chicken salad! To this day my husband thinks I make the best chicken salad! (It's from Cass's don't tell him ) I have even heard him brag to his mother how good it is. ( don't judge me ). They have a great menu as well as a sweet dessert display that will make you want to eat dessert first. This is another best kept "Local" secret in Paducah! This place is a gem! Not a very obvious spot, but there's plenty of parking in front and the atmosphere is SO cute. I had the "hot ham and cheese croissant" and it was delicious. And only 5.50$!!!! What a DEAL!!! I took a half dozen cookies to go- the shortbread is a must!! There were holiday sprinkles on them when I went and it was great! It was bustling, but there was always a table available. Very popular and it's the local spot for sure. While sitting there I saw multiple locals stopping in for whole cakes. I'm assuming that means they're a win!! The no-bake cookie was also very good, but you have to be a fan of no- bake cookies to agree with me haha. Had a work lunch here on a colleague's recommendation and it is a great choice for a very affordable, made from scratch meal. This is a nicely decorated deli and bakery located in a strip mall. It's clearly a very popular local spot and we were happy get a table. I struggled to choose one thing from the menu and finally opted for the pesto chicken sandwich from the hot sandwiches menu. So good. It was flavorful, served on a panini and just the right size. Total cost? $5.50! Comparable to fast food in price but miles ahead in quality. My lunch mates raved about their pimento cheese panini and garden salad with a generous scoop of chicken salad. The cupcakes looked amazing but I resisted temptation. Went there first time for lunch. My order was the "outrageous" hot dog. I was expecting something like a jumbo dog with all the fixings etc. What I received was two small dogs ( I seriously thought they were small baby sausage links) on a bun that had been put into a press with mustard on it. The hot dogs were old and chewy like they'd been on a warmer for days to the point it was like eating a slim jim. No juices to it at all. Was expecting a dog with a crisp bite and the juice flowing. A side of potato salad sat in a plastic cup that people would normally put bbq sauce or ketchup in and the consistency was like mashed potatoes. My wife ordered a sandwich with no mayo. Needless to say, both sides had mayo. Was seriously disappointed. Good news is that their desserts are always on point. Best cupcakes around but meal wasn't worth the money I paid. Went here on a Moms day out! It was just right for a small lunch so you can save room for dessert and trust me you will want to definitely save room. The cupcakes are so good and fresh! My friend got a cookie she said those were really good too! Friendly staff and atmosphere. Their shortbread is LEGIT. I try to make it to Paducah weekly to get my fix! Also love the chocolate crinkles. On the whole I definitely recommend their cookies and would love to try their pie and gelato! The atmosphere there is awesome; I would love to hang out there and knit sometime, because it's just a beautiful, relaxing place to be. I didn't like the cupcakes--they seemed really heavy and dense. Tried several flavors on several different occasions with the same results. Chicken salad is good--interesting texture, because there are teeny pieces of broccoli in it, and I like the crunch. We went to Cass Sweets and I warned her - ask when the cupcakes of her choice were baked because I've been stuck with many stale ones. She bought several, took them home and within an hour decided to try one. The cake part was as dry and hard as it would have been baked a week ago. The icing was ROCK hard - no way to break it up - the whole thing came off. She tried another - same way. This was very disappointing -- she threw them all away - and they are not cheap. Embarrassed me because I brag on the fresh salads! And they will be the only thing I'll purchase from now on. Any leftover pastries or breads that Panera Bread has at closing time, they donate to the Community Kitchen - they bake fresh every day .... this should be a requirement of all restaurants if they don't rotate their products and sell the oldest, which become the worse - unable to be eaten. Sorry to complain but these cupcakes were impossible to eat -- that's a sad review! I'm sure you do have some fresh ones -- they should have been sold first with day-old or even older pulled from the cases. read more

My sister is a regular here and took me as a treat. I'm glad she did. A really cute little cafe with great ambiance and good food. There have been times the food has really been good and the next time it may not be. It's been a seesaw experience for us. About 6 months ago I got a chicken salad not the sandwich. I ate it there and it was really good. A couple weeks later I had some friends over and told them how good it was, so we ordered the same chicken salad to go. It was not near as good as when I ate it there. It had very few pieces of chicken and very little toppings,it was skimpy. Generally my husband and I have always enjoyed this sandwich, but again, we have eaten it at the restaurant in the past. After we got home and started eating it the turkey didn't taste good to us. We couldn't eat it, and since I paid $11.00 for these sandwiches, I decided to call and let them know. I didn't get the girls named that I talked to which was a mistake. I told her I had just picked up 2 Turkey Rubens to go and we didn't think the meat tasted good. She proceeded to tell me they had just switch to a different type of turkey breast and majority of the customer's said they liked it better. She said we cook the turkey breast ourselves and it was cooked fresh today. I said the turkey tasted like it had been cooked in a microwave and to me that changes the taste. She didn't deny that's how it had been cooked. She said I ate one of those sandwiches myself today and it tasted fine to me. I said it doesn't taste good to us. She proceeded to say I'm sorry you didn't like it, but it's not going to make you sick. I couldn't believe she said that and thought she gave a very unprofessional answer. The flavor of the cupcakes are absolutely delicious, and the size of the cupcakes are good for the price. The only issue we have is the last two times we have gone to get some cupcakes to go, they have been very dry. So dry in fact that we did not eat them after tasting each one. You could tell they were a day or two old. I had been raving to my family, which was visiting from out of State, so we went and picked up 18 cupcakes (there's a lot of us) but sadly they were picked at and thrown away. IMO opinion, it rivals SPRINKLES in California and CRUMBS in Beverly Hills, Ca. Everything they make is spot on. The Strawberry Cake and the Banana Creme cakes are my favorite. MY rating is based on attempting to order a sandwich twice in one day. I stopped by around 9:45 am today and they couldn't make a sandwich. The store is open to 3:00 pm so I went back by around 2:15 pm and to order a sandwich. No luck again. I was told they turn the grill off at 2:00 pm? I have been here many times and have never been disappointed until today. I went to lunch with several of my co workers and ordered a "fruit tea" and enjoyed my lunch. After drinking all my tea my co workers and I went to get a refill for the road and all my coworkers were refilled with no questions. When I asked for a refill the cashier said I would have to pay a charge of $1.59. I said no thanks can I have a refill of just a soft drink and she said no I would have to pay for it.
