The Shirley area of the Stratford Road is an excellent place if you're after a takeaway, with countless outlets supplying almost every kind of cuisine imaginable, but if you have to choose one, I'd say go for Caspian Pizza. The first thing I will say for it is their prices are quite frankly ludicrous. It's a good thing that they're named after a prince, as they can't be making very much per meal at these prices. A regular pizza sets you back just £2.49, whereas any burger is a paltry £1.80, and kebabs start at just £2. As the name suggests, their piece de resistance is their pizza, and even at their rock bottom prices, it doesn't disappoint, with a great range of toppings to customise with (I'd personally recommend the tandoori chicken with the pepperoni - unconventional but delicious). The rest of the food is also good, and some of the best of its kind available in the immediate vicinity, but I'd go for the pizza every time. read more
