Prices for a 9' pizza range from £3 to £3.50 (with an added £1 for a stuffed crust), and every topping you could ever wish for is readily available, as well as a myriad of reasonably-priced delicious side dishes (try the mozzarella dippers). A word of caution - although their menu claims 'free' delivery, these prices are ramped up considerable - pick your food up and use your savings to buy another pizza or three - you will thank me later. Although the Bristol Road, being at the heart of the student area of Selly Oak, has more takeaways you can shake a stick at, I feel I have some authority as a takeaway connoisseur to tell you if you have to choose one, make it Pizza Land.

One of the best food outlets in Selly Oak is Pizza Land, offering great pizzas at low prices and doing so with a high level of customer service. Toppings make a pizza and this place has an innumerable amount which means you can tailor your pizza to make it exactly how you like it. Places such as Dominos offer pizzas at extortionate prices and can often take an absolute age to be made and then delivered, there is no danger of that at Pizza Land and as such I believe it is a much better establishment than many main stream pizza chains. After a night at the pub then a pizza is a great late night treat to indulge in and this place is definitely the best parlour to pay a visit to.

I think I am going to say it…read more.. This is my favourite Indian restaurant in Birmingham City Centre! Manzil's is situated about a minutes walk from the Bull Ring and people in the know who know about curry know what I am talking about with this place. When you walk in, you are met with a homely and friendly atmosphere which makes it a delight to eat in. It's an old school curry house which I love. I really like the wallpaper! I have got to know the waiters as I have visited so many times, who are really chatty and are always happy to see you. If you see Hakeem, he loves his Football! The music they play is so random and unexpected. The last visit I made, they were playing Britpop hits of the 1990's haha On this visit, I was with 4 friends from down south who were visiting me for the day, who are tough critics I may add! I had the Chicken Pakora which was a great starter and just the right size to begin the meal. For the main course I had a lovely Dhansak which was really filling with Pilau rice. Manzil's speciality is their sizzling dishes which provides a good alternative if you are not in the mood for a hearty curry. The biggest surprise came when the bill arrived and we split it. One of my friends said "That price wouldn't even get you a starter which isn't half as good as that in London." Says it all really!

I'd put it down to them doing more sales via delivery. But judging by the reviews of this place it's not a well kept secret. I was brought her as a 'proper curry virgin' by experiences prior had been out of a jar and pub curries. According to a friend this was unacceptable, so off we went. I can't remember what I ordered. I know it was vegetarian and not spicy - I can't do spicy as much as I try. You get a lot for your money, going for an Indian can be an expensive affair but this was reasonable by the amount of food received. The service as well is excellent, always smiling and helpful. I really must go again, I whole heartedly suggest the rest of you do too.

I'm vegetarian (and food options can sometimes be slightly hit-or-miss), but the food Matt served for each meal was just soooo flavoursome and delicious. On our last night, Matt made such a huge effort and threw us a little party with a fire-pit along with dinner and drinks (with the help of his lovely son George) and it was such a brilliant evening. 10/10 and would highly recommend

The booking process was easy and if we had any questions Matt came back with an answer straight away, the day of the BBQ there was plenty of delicious meats, salads and bread rolls and we could have fed another 20 people. Matt's attitude and customer service was second to none, really attentive and could not do enough for us, and would not accept any help when it came to clearing everything away. Regardless of the typical British BBQ weather (rain, hail, snow and sunshine) everyone really enjoyed their lunch. A massive thank you to Matt and his team @ Shropshire Hills Catering. Would recommend this company to all. Thank you again Matt, will certainly be using your services again in the future.

There's not much else around in this area, and this place was a) open, and b) errr... open. It wasn't exactly busy, but the staff were very welcoming and made us feel at home without being overly-fussy. We were instantly offered popadums and a drinks order was soon placed for some Cobra beer. Very soon the combination of beer and popadums started to relax the tensions of the day. I wasn't starving hungry and didn't want to eat a large meal this late, so I settled for the fish bhuna and a plain nan. The food was absolutely delicious I have to say - very tasty without being too spicy. Just what was needed for a late evening meal. A surprising little gem of a curry house in this deserted stretch of Hagley Road. Well worth visiting if you're passing - they deserve the custom.
