This was the exact pick-me-up we needed after a trans-alantic flight: a nap, a cheeseburger and beer. I'm not yet fully qualified to review all the wonderful beer features this place seems to offer but I'm impressed with the selection! My wife and I both had a pint of Rothaus wheat beer, which was delish, and a fat burger with swiss cheese. The gentlemen behind the bar were welcoming and patient with our slow American ways. :) We definitely will return to enjoy some of their wonderful liquid fare. read more

Nice and small pub in London. We found it, because we liked to drink some ale in London. Since the pub was not far away from our hotel, we went there to have our drink, and we were surprised. The pub is comfortable and furnished in comtemporary style. The seats have pillows and the tables are not too close together. Enough space to talk to each other. They did not only have Ale. We also found German and Belgian beer. They have got beer from all over the world, and the best: beer from my Bavarian home ;-) The meals were simple and good. Because the kitchen was being refurbished, only sandwiches and burgers were available at that time, but then! We had a Scottish burger and it was one of the the best burgers I've ever had. (Meat even better than at Space Burger in Düsseldorf/Germany). The service is very friendly and so are the guests. Next year I am visiting this place again, when we go to London! read more

I tried to buy beer from Uto over in Borough Market. Sadly they did not have the beer I sought, however, they told me about this little gem tucked away on an inconspicuous corner in Pimlico - walk past and you might just miss it. The selection of beers is phenomenal and the friendly staff make selecting a beer an easy task. They also do solid nosh. Plan to have one or two here in the summer as there is (limited) outside seating. read more

Great spot! Open and airy - a bit different from traditional English pubs. Great menu - including a portobello hamburger for those who are vegetarian (really enjoyed it). The beer list is extensive and the bartenders are not only willing to give you suggestions, but try anything on tap. Overall great service. In terms of beers this place is a good spot. However we came here to eat and have drink. I was happy with the beers we had good selections. The burgers where marginal overall. We had the Elvis, which was a heavily covered burger with peanut butter and bananna. The peanut butter took over the burger entirely leaving little room fir tasting the actual burger. We got the bacon dusted fries. SGAIN Nothing special. Ww went to honest burger this week as well and was so much better. read more

A slight smaller scale version of their sister pub - the Craft Beer Co in Clerkenwell. This place is in my top 5 UK pubs for great beer. A big selection of local UK beers along with loads of US and European beers on tap. Then we get to all the fridges stocked with exotic bottles from all over the world. They do decent food too, so it's well worth staying the whole night. read more

Unassuming place about 3/4 of a mile from our hotel. Like any pub, gotta go up to the bar to order drink and food. HUGE selection of beers, many in casks....and page full of beer in bottles (in 9pt type!). Burgers were SPECTACTULAR! I settled for th plainer 40 burger...with a ton of condiments coming on the side. My husband ordered The Heat....w Buffalo sauce and cheese. It was beyond hot....he wiped his brow of sweat many times over. Incredible enjoyable. read more

Arrive to find that they will not honor the reservation and the "confirmation" was for their email subscription. As a long time visitor to The Cask, this review is long overdue. As I often work in the area, this is absolutely one of my favorite places to visit when I'm in London. Peter and the rest of the staff are absolutely fantastic. Their beer and food offerings are unparalleled. In the innumerable visits over the past 8+ years, I have never once had a poor experience. Sunday afternoons with live music is an especially fine time to visit. Never heard of it till I was searching for food within walking distance of my hotel. Thank the gods I found this one!!! Biggest beer menu I've ever seen, some of the tastiest ones as well. I ordered the "Elvis", which was great. The peanut butter was a little overwhelming, though. Flavour was spot on though. Maybe they could use just a little bit less..? ANYwho, the food was great, the beers were better, and the environment was cozy yet open enough. They have a bluegrass band that plays every night at 1630-1930, which is amazingly entertaining. The waitress was very nice, and people seemed to enjoy the place. It was filled up with young people drinking beer when we got there for a late dinner on a Tuesday evening. We had two different kind of beers - because they did not have enough to give us two of the same kind, but that was okay. My problem with this place was the food. The fries were good and could be served alone as snacks beside of the beers. The burger was terrible. Like one of the worst I have ever had. We ordered cheeseburgers and there was almost no cheese in either of them. The beefs were drier than a dessert in the summertime. Nothing was great about it. They never came to ask if everything was fine. I regret that I did not take any pictures, but it was so tasteless and dry that we just wanted to leave the place. read more

Cask rides a strange line between bar, restaurant and pub, and somehow manages to please everyone in the process. Wow! The Cajun chicken burger was astonishingly good. Chicken was perfect. Tender, juicy and topped with bacon, avocado, baby spinach, mayo and Gruyere cheese. Damn. My brother had the Forty burger and his wife the Cluck which they both enjoyed immensely. Fries were awesome too. I did the parm and truffle oil fries. Totally addictive and totally recommended. Top it all off with a couple of great beers from the tap (a nice citrusy one called Saison L'ete and an APA called Gamma Ray) and that's 5 stars in my book. read more

We stayed in the neighborhood and wanted to try some different beers. What a great selection this place has!! They have a very big selection of the tap beer...if you are not sure what to choose, just ask the barman and he will help you with the selection. That was in my case..I told the barman what kind of taste I was looking for and he suggested one of the two beers..gave me small samples to taste them to help me to make a choice. You can go either with pint or half pint. When we came in 6pm on Thursday this place was so busy. We could see this was the place we were looking for based on the large numbers of people standing on the sidewalk drinking, almost spilling into the street. There are probably 3 tables to sit at outside the rest is inside. About half the people here were standing. Tons of beers. Full bar. Hamburgers are very big and come with a side of fries. When I travel on business to London I usually stay at a hotel in this neighborhood, so I frequently find myself gravitating to this place after work. The selection of beer is amazing. It can be difficult to make your way to the bar as this is quite popular with the locals after work as well. It can get noisy making it difficult to carry on a conversation. I have found that their food is a cut above your typical London pub; I especially like the burgers! One of my favorite London pubs. The tap/cask selection is great. The best beer I've had herewas the BrewDog I Hardcore You. Awesome. There is a huge bottle list but these beers tend to be on the pricey side. The draught stuff is reasonably priced, though. The food looks good and is also a bit pricey; I haven't had any. A very clean, sleek bar with lots of tables inside and a few out. Overall a great place to get some good beers. read more

Usually, if you go to a cask ale specialist pub and ask the bar tender to pull you a pint of something girly and not to strong, their face is overcome with a look that says "Piss off". But not here! Cask does a great job showcasing the UK's craft beer evolution in a comfortable setting with a staff that understands and care about their product. The food is surprisingly good too. I had the Portabella and Halloumi 'burger', which was quite tasty and the chips were well done. Suffice to say, I spent 5 days in London at a hotel over a kilometer away, and I made it here every day. read more
