I lived here for about 2 years while I was attending UCD. I never had a problem here and my experience has been mostly positive. The maintenance team was always so friendly and my requests were always completed the same day or on the next day. I've never had a problem with the management at the front office. Someone always greeted and helped me when I walked in for anything (picking up a package or just asking a question). I got almost all of my deposit back plus $90 for moving out early... So I got close to $500 back for my original $400 deposit! I lived in a one bedroom apartment and yes the appliances are kind of dated, but they were all still useable and I never had a problem. The carpet was new when I moved in and everything was clean. I had some friends who lived here as well and they all had a roach problem in their apartments. I never had any type of insect problem, but be aware that might be an issue. Also, I've never had an issue with finding a parking spot unless I was coming back late at night, in which the lot would be full and I had to park on the street. I didn't think this was a huge issue since this rarely happened, but be aware that there are many cars with expired or no permits at all in the lots and they never got towed, despite management claiming that they do. However, this also meant that you could have visitors come over without them worrying about their cars getting towed (which is why the lots were full in the first place). Also, the walls are thin and I often heard all my neighbors walking, talking, singing, partying, etc., but you can't choose your neighbors so I just learned to deal with it.
I have to mention that I love that they are conveniently located on the J, G, and F bus lines because they all run quite often, which makes it easy to get on campus. However, the J and G are often packed, even with the double-deck buses they use.
Overall, I really enjoyed living here. When I left in 2015, they wanted to increase my rent to just over $1000 for a ~500 sq ft one bed apartment. I'm not sure what the prices are now and I know there are cheaper options, but I recommend looking into this place if they are within your budget. read more
