I was extremely impressed by his responsiveness, professionalism, and quality of work even for this small ask. He charges by the hour and I was more than happy to pay for his time, but he provided the detailed summary with just the floor plan and didn't even ask for payment in the end as we were just looking for an estimate for cost of construction. I would recommend Michael to anyone seeking a structural engineer, and would be happy to hire him in the future if I need his services again.

After our initial consultation, I knew he was the right man for the job. He became our PM, engineer, architect, permit expert, et al. He had a monumental task before him; including sorting out all the environmental issues, correcting/recreating work done by other contractors, finding solutions for issues neither of us had previously dealt with, etc. He saved us so much time/money. We now have an approved King County permit in hand and ready to build! This is entirely due to Eli's creativity, expertise and skill. We wholeheartedly recommend ESG Design. Eli, thank you!

I needed some additional information from that engineer, but after a month of trying to reach him, I finally gave up and put calls out to new well-reviewed structural engineers. Out of the six I contacted, Dimitry was one of only two who actually got back to me, and within a timely manner. I was very impressed with his knowledge and his ability to translate everything into laymen's terms that I could understand. Additionally, he spent an extremely long amount of time on my property, looking at everything and pouring over the construction plans. I felt confident that he was considering everything before giving his opinion and suggestions. Lastly, I found his rates more than reasonable, especially for the amount of time he spent on my property and his level of expertise. I highly recommend Dimitry and Structural Design Shop if you are in need of a knowledgeable, experienced residential structural engineer.

I reached out to Dmitriy in a panic and he was available to swing by practically the next day and immediately come up with a series of far more nuanced, elegant solutions that actually took into account the age of our house and the scale of the project. After his initial site visit, he was able to get detailed structural sketches to us in under 3 days. In a city where structural engineers are routinely turning down projects or quoting weeks or even months-long turnaround times, that in itself was a miracle. You can tell he works hard and definitely knows his stuff. I wouldn't hesitate to reach out if you need an extremely smart and impossibly responsive pro to swoop in and save your ass, like we did! Thank you so much again, Dmitriy.

Some of that work was duplicated in my house, which was helpful. Every step was excellent. From initial consultation, design (plus follow-up changes), demo, install, and completion/cleanup. The best part? Only a tad over six weeks to do the work!! That timeline is among the many reasons to consider Seismic. Most firms outsource - 'sub out,' if you will. All those subcontractors may well be excellent. But any delay for their work hits your calendar. Rocky and his team handle just about everything in-house. Which really speeds up the process without impacting quality. Suffice to say, when I have another need that Rocky and his team can handle I'll be calling him first.
