For the past couple years, as we lived in Atherton, we've been driving across the bridge to our…read moredentist in Castro Valley, but with our location, it's gotten to be such a hassle, and even more difficult finding a clinic with a team that has exceptional customer service. I took a chance with the Dental Center of Atherton and I must've gotten really, really lucky because I genuinely look forward to going to the dentist! The staff at the front like Cassandra and Jamie (sorry if I didn't spell it right) are super cordial, friendly, and overall just the best way to be greeted through the doors. Their customer service is great, which is never appreciated enough, frankly, so I'm happy to acknowledge it every time. Today I had a deep cleaning with Donna, And she was so patient and welcoming and knowledgeable, and you can feel the pride in her work and the happiness it brings her to not only help people with their dental hygiene, but also educate people on her expertise and empower people to have a better understanding of why things happen with our teeth and gums and the best practices to maintaining our oral health. I even requested to see her again specifically, which meant switching around my schedule appointment, because I had such a stellar time with her. I asked many involved questions, and Donna was more than happy to indulge me. Very very happy with the interactions we've had today - I literally got home and got to typing immediately, it could not wait another minute. My very first visit I also met Dr. Fong and Shima/Sheema (so sorry), and it should go without saying at this point, but they were also exceptional in their own right. With the location, being great, and the customer service even better, I'm happy to say that this place ought to have 6 stars. Looking forward to the next appointment!

Review Update: regarding their prices!…read more I was reached out to by Adrienne who notified me that they had charged me thinking my insurance doesn't cover the full amount but turned out my insurance did cover a portion of the cost therefor they refunded me $164 and mailed the check to my home. It was nice of them to do that, and very ethical. I wouldn't have known. Thanks Adrienne and the team!

I found Dr. Arora after dental work from another office had gone wrong. I was in so much pain I…read morecouldn't sleep, could barely eat, and the pain was radiating from my teeth into my jaw and all the way to my ear. After a week of constant pain, I couldn't wait any longer to get help. On a Friday night, I (desperately) reached out to any dentists who listed Saturday hours. Dr. Arora responded that same night and rearranged his Saturday schedule to accommodate me. The office was otherwise closed, but he was willing to come in and see me, a brand new patient he had never even met, because I needed help. That meant a lot, and immediately told me he genuinely cares about people, not just appointments on a schedule. Dr. Arora gave careful, clear, clinical explanations of what he was seeing, what was causing my pain, and exactly what needed to be done. He made sure I understood what was going to happen, why he takes the approach he does, and what to expect afterward. I ended up needing two root canals to fix the previous dentist's filling. While no one *enjoys* a root canal, it honestly wasn't nearly as bad as I feared. It did take time - which he told me upfront - because he doesn't rush. My previous dentist had emphasized how quickly he could get me in and out, so it was actually refreshing to be treated by someone who prioritizes doing it properly. What really stood out is that while Dr. Arora's practice absolutely has modern technology, he clearly relies on skill and judgment first. It felt like being treated by someone who truly understands dentistry, not someone just following what a machine tells them to do. The previous office had all the flashy, high-tech equipment imaginable, and I still ended up needing two root canals to repair their work. The office also offers thoughtful touches like headphones, cozy blankets, and pillows, which make a bigger difference than you'd think when you're in the chair for a while. After weeks of pain and stress, I'm finally back to normal and genuinely feel taken care of. If you're anxious, in pain, or just want a dentist who combines competence with real compassion, you will be in very good hands here.

I've always had healthy teeth, but had 2 unnecessary 'cavities' done there, w/more ordered on the way. Dr. Nabeta and Salcedo are top-notch dentists, who you can trust with your dental care. They are vigilent, providing objective guidance, while never pushing a procedure on me. I recently got a crown done here, and Dr. Nabeta was expert, gentle and efficient in the procedure and made sure to follow-up in after care. I also love Al, my hygenist here! The best hygenist I've had in my life! Gives me pro tips in a motivating, non-judgemental way every time I come in. All three of them continue to teach, and stay up-to-date on the latest in dental research and technology. And all three are gentle, kind practitioners, w/a skilled touch acquired over many years of practice. Lastly, their office is clean and bright, w/the latest equipment, and they took the the upmost of precautions during covid. Love coming to this practice and giving my teeth the very best in care!

I also appreciate how transparent he is on estimated costs before doing any treatment. I additionally appreciate that he does a zoom appointment before meeting in person to make things more efficient and does the zoom appointment at no charge. For the gum graft itself, Dr. Nelson did a terrific job of working with my pain tolerance on taking local anesthesia such as deep breaths beforehand, explaining exactly what he will do, and placing it in a speed that matches my comfort. The procedure itself was complete smooth sailing from there, he provides detailed post op instructions and contact information for assistance between the surgery and follow up.

If you'd told me a few years ago I'd love an oral surgeon, I'd have laughed my head off. But here I…read moream, several procedures and years later, and I'm writing a 5-star review for Dr. Hoghooghi. I came here to deal with a broken tooth prior to getting Invisalign treatment and ultimately get a dental implant. Dental implants can't move like teeth do, so you have to have your teeth stable before getting an implant. The consultation was excellent, and he answered all my questions. I chose to receive anesthesia for the extraction, and it was great once you get past the IV part. Afterwards I had no swelling or complications--I compulsively followed instructions and asked questions for anything I need clarification on. He said to contact him two months prior to completion of Invisalign, so I did that and after a consultation we scheduled the dental implant post installation. I chose to stay awake for this with local anesthetic. The procedure was kind of bizarre and felt surreal, but I got through it! We scheduled an appointment for a few months later to ascertain that bone had grown around the implant sufficiently. A few months later and yes, it's ready! I can now get the new tooth/crown from my dentist. When you consider how disagreeable some dental work can be, it is super helpful to have someone so thoroughly competent plus easy to talk to as Dr. Hoghooghi is. I highly recommend him if you need oral surgery. Here's his background: https://www.paomfs.com/meet-us/dr-alexander-hoghooghi/
