She is so so sweet and even double checked for allergies by calling the manager. She was so attentive and I really appreciate that she took the time to make sure that we were able to enjoy everything. Thank you so much for the wonderful service!

The food was great, the service was excellent, and I specifically wanted to come back after traveling. The first night I returned, we arrived around 9:05 PM. Although the posted closing time was 10 PM, we were told the kitchen was already closed. That itself wasn't the issue. When we walked in, one employee saw us but didn't greet or acknowledge us, so we were left standing there confused. We eventually stepped farther inside, and another employee abruptly told us, "No, we closed," and quickly turned us away. We decided to give the restaurant another chance the following night and came earlier. Unfortunately, we ended up being served by the same guy who had turned us away the night before, and his attitude and service made the entire experience extremely uncomfortable. He never checked on our table--not once. Whenever we needed something, we ended up having to wave down another server for help. When our soup arrived, we weren't given the appropriate serving spoon, and again, another employee had to help us because our server was nowhere around. At one point, while bringing food to our table, he knocked over a glass of water and spilled it across the table near our phones. We had to quickly grab our belongings before they got wet. He never apologized! not even once. He grabbed a towel and wiped up part of the spill but left a large puddle on my friend's side of the table. He never came back to finish cleaning it or bring us extra napkins. The interaction that really made the experience uncomfortable happened when I moved the soup bowl closer to the grill. I genuinely didn't realize the bowl was plastic and shouldn't be placed there. He came over and said, "This thing is not supposed to be on the stove. It's plastic. Do you know that?" I immediately apologized and told him I didn't know. Instead of simply picking it up and moving it, he dragged the bowl away, spilling soup all over the grill, and then just walked away. Mistakes happen, and I don't expect perfect service. What bothered us was the complete lack of basic hospitality and professionalism from this particular employee, and multiple interactions that came across as unnecessarily rude and hostile. I want to emphasize that I'm not saying this about the entire staff. Other employees helped us when we needed something, and my previous visit here was genuinely excellent. Unfortunately, this particular employee was responsible for both negative experiences, on two consecutive nights. It's disappointing because I came back specifically because of how much I enjoyed this restaurant the first time. After this experience, I would not return unless this kind of customer service is addressed.

We dropped by MHM bc it was a short walk from the hotel. They have been in biz since 1948 and…read morespecialize in reubens, corned beef & pastrami (all about $25). I had the sig reuben w/ potato salad. There was a ton of tender corned beef, and the grilled rye was a nice touch. I could only eat half at one sitting. My rellie had the pastrami dip, and it too had a ton of tender, nicely seasoned meat. She couldn't finish half, even tho I took a bite of hers. Regarding the ambiance, its an old skool, lunch counter style place. You order on a sheet, and pay when you pick up. Eli and his female co-worker were super friendly and nice. Eli said he'd make us the best sandwich in town, and he was not kidding. I would go out of my way to hit MHM bc the sandwiches are delicious, they cover two meals, and the service is friendly & warm. Its no wonder they've been in biz so long.

A friend of mine suggested this place, it had been on my list for some time, but I honestly forgot…read moreabout it. This place is the best example of how you can overcharge when your service and product far exceed expectations. I can tell you that I couldn't tell you the difference between corned beef or pastrami and never really cared. I don't like corned beef and if you can believe it, I've never had pastrami before. I had a half of Pastrami Dip. It came with chips, potato salad, a pickle spear and hydrox cookie. The half of sandwich had twice the meat that you would get on a full-size Arby's dip. The potato salad was about 3 oz, which was plenty based on everything you got with the dip. At $20 it would be easy to call the meal a rip off, but the quality, portion and flavor made it well worth it. My only know what the bottle of Snapple at $4 Those bottles are $2.50 or 2/$4 at 7-11 and the 6 pack is often on sale for $5 at Safeway, so at 2x minimum, I thought it was too much, especially since the place didn't have water, your only beverage choice had a cost. The beef was super tender. The flavor wasn't life-changing, but it was clear, their roasting process infused flavor. The au jus was r ally good, could have used some salt to offset the lightly seasoned beef, but it still worked. The service was flawless and welcoming. It was clear they were concerned about eat diners experience. I would have rather had fries instead of potato salad and chips, but if I return, maybe I'll try one of the burgers since they come with fries. No rush to return, but that doesn't change that this is an under the radar spot that you should give a try.

Let me tell you about me and Jerky. I started making my own about 25 years ago and I have to tell…read moreyou, it's pretty damn amazing. Problem is, I use a dehydrator. So despite the flavor being a 10, the texture and smoke flavor suffer. In addition to making a jerky that friends and family love, I have purchased jerky from about every possible website, and local butcher, so when I tell you I know quality jerky, I am certified. I passed this place last summer on my way to a concert at Remlinger Farms. I said I would double back and today was that day. Small shop, but enough space to have a reasonable selection of meats. I was extremely impressed with their exotic meats. Can't say I'd be a customer for ground rabbit, but I do know people that love to make pet food or snacks from exotic offerings. Being a fan of heat, I checked for hot links and spicy smoked offerings, but the selection there was limited. I think I saw about 6 people behind the counter. And besides myself there was one customer who was being helped. For some reason I was ignored for a few minutes, but once I made eye contact with someone it because clear, ignoring me was no longer an option. Once served, I have to say the service improved. The main person I spoke with might have been an owner, if not, he had to be a manger. He provided me with sample of the jerky's and pepperoni. I tried the Colorado and Spicy Jerky. The spicy jerky had a tiny kick, not nearly as much as advertised, but I didn't dig the flavor. The Colorado, which was just a standard smoked jerky was the winner. It was salty and savory and reminded of the jerky that Hickory Farms used to sell in store. Not the bagged retail stuff, they used to have a large jar with smoked jerky for sale. It reminded me of another favorite. There is a place in Shelton called Home Meat Service, that has a jerky that is well worth the drive. The pepperoni, was a little dry, lacked snap and salt, but still had promise. I got Jerky, pepperoni and Hot Italian Sausage. I cooked the sausage for breakfast, it was ok, but nothing special. This could have been a 5-star experience, but the slow recognition really bothered me. I don't believe that would have been the case had I looked more like the common customer. I read the reviews before coning here and several spoke about the warm welcome they got, so again it's clear to me, when comfortable, they treat customers like family.
