I met Brian when he taught a section of the Redfin (free) real estate class. I was impressed with…read morehim overall, and arranged to meet with him to discuss financing for our first-time home purchase. He came out of his way to meet my husband and me on the weekend in our neighborhood (nowhere near his home or office), and he was super helpful and detail-oriented, and taught us all about the various costs and charges which can get quite complicated even to the detail- and math-oriented. In the end, even though BECU was able to get us a slightly lower rate, we still wound up going with Brian and his team because we felt that we were better taken care of. We were out of the country the week before we closed, but his assistant was so on top of it in getting all the documentation they needed before we left. There's no way a bigger chain like BECU or a national bank would have been able to close on the somewhat tight schedule we were working with. And Brian has been available for a zillion follow-up questions, as we require quite a bit of hand-holding during this process. I would not hesitate to recommend Brian and his team to anyone purchasing a home, be it for the first time or as an investment property. My real estate agent remarked repeatedly that he really seemed to have our best interests in mind, and was so helpful throughout the entire process. Can't recommend these guys strongly enough!

I had a seamless experience using Brian Thielicke's team at Cobalt Mortgage. I had previously…read moreshopped around with a few other banks including my credit union, but the response times were laughable. I didn't feel like my business was valued at those other places, so I gave Brian a call at Cobalt. From start to finish, they were there every step of the way and I was really pleased with how quickly they got back to me with questions and concerns. My transaction was not an easy one. It was a 4 month short-sale and most other banks would have given up, but Joni continued to follow up with me occasionally and Mary got my loan wrapped up and closed in 3 weeks once we had a signed contract with the previous lien holder. Brian was even able to find some special discounts that I qualified for that even my Realtor and escrow company weren't very familiar with. I was so impressed that I referred my parents to them and they are now in the process of doing a loan with Brian's team. Good job guys!

I bailed out on a refinance after three months of being told that this is the current standard of…read moreservice. If it is, ok. I can't refute this. They said (as I knew) "It's not you". In 2021 ( my belief) your only REAL vote is your wallet collection of "Presidents" (The Benjamins, for example) Companies pay close attention to trends as to how money is spent. If you have no demands for your money, soon you will have no service. Kiel: Inconclusive.

Second closing date came and went. We were told to modify it again...third closing date went by, and we were then told that our loan was being denied...with no explanation whatsoever. We consequently lost our dream home that we had spent months searching for... we are also out the $3,000 we had to pay for the inspection, the appraisal, and the earnest money to the sellers for the delay / extension. Kiel mortgage caused us an unprecedented amount of stress, anger, and heartache. They did not communicate well with us at any step of the process...we always had to deal with a "middle man" who wouldn't return our calls until 4:50 pm on the supposed closing day, if at all. Their incompetence is incomprehensible... we actually feel victimized. This has drained us so much we don't have enough energy to fight with them and still look for / buy another home, so we are moving on. You should know that we have perfect credit and have paid off other properties... we are in shock that this happened to us. You should also know that we were "pre-approved" by them, which we now know means nothing at all. If we could give them zero stars we would. Take our advice and take your business elsewhere... they are not worthy of your trust. Response to comment below: Yes, it is absolutely Kiel Mortgage we're writing about. The reason you can't find my name is that I wasn't the primary on the loan, but my signature was required... three times, due to Kiel Mortgage's ineptitude around closing. We forgot to add that after you caused us to miss the first closing date, you said you could do the second one, at a significantly higher interest rate. We were not at all happy, but it was our dream home, so we reluctantly agreed, which ended up not mattering, since you didn't keep your word. I'm sure you would really like us to remove this review. Maybe now you have small taste of what it's like to really, really want something and not get it, like what you caused to happen to my friend and his mom (who now has to move into a trailer, by the way). So yes, it is Kiel Mortgage who is responsible for this fiasco, and no, we will not remove this review. People need to be warned about how you operate. Finally, don't respond to this post again. The only way we will ever interact with you from now on is through lawyers.
