We went here looking for callos. This was off of a simple google search…read more Came in at around 5 and they were closed for siesta. Came back at 7 after walking around the area. After coming back, we saw a tapas tour coming in. They came there for the croquettes and the vermut. We ordered the boletos, sweetbreads, pulpo, and, of course, the callos. The server tried to help us out and said those should be enough since there was just 2 of us dining. They give you free iberico with cheese and crispy pork belly for appetizers. Every dish was a hit! Boletos with egg and truffle felt very rustic, savory, delicious. Truffle was not overpowering, mushrooms were fresh. Sweetbreads was our favorite out of the meal. It was like a step down from actual foie gras. Goes well with beer and wine. The galician pulpo was the best one we had on our trip, and we had 3 of them beforehand. And lastly the callos. At this point we've already hit a wall with all the food we had, servings were a good size per dish. It was rich, decadent, and perfectly cooked. It doesn't have the offal aftertaste you get from tripa that's ill prepared. We had multiple beers and wines throughout the meal. The service was personally phenomenal. They checked on us constantly and made sure the food was as we expected. We're going back for lunch tomorrow

We walked in the restaurant and checked out the menu. One of the managers came up to us and told us that unfortunately in this part of the restaurant the wait was going to be long. He told us that there was another part of the restaurant around the corner. The manager personally walked us there and got us a table. Our servers brought out bread and showed us the menu and wine list. One of my friends decided to order a bottle of wine which three of my friends shared. The menu was all in Spanish, but the staff helped us with the words that we did not know and we ordered. I decided to order the spicy beef, peppers, potatoes, and fried egg. Everything flowed together very well and had just the right amount of spice. It was a little greasy, so I did not eat a lot of it as I was not super hungry and did not want any stomach problems later--smile. The staff brought out dessert for my friends, which was carrot cake and flan that looked so amazing! Our bill was brought out and we all noticied that there was a 6 euro charge for our bread. Bread in Spain is super inexpensive, so why they would charge us 6 euros for five small pieces of hard bread I do not know. Other than that our food was delicious and the service was great as well!!

Averaging out one 5 star experience with one 1 star evening for a final 3 star rating. Our first…read moreexperience was our first day arriving in this neighborhood in Madrid after some time in Barcelona, and we arrived in early afternoon, sat on the patio and were greeted by a lovely waitress that took our order without issue. The gyozas and canelon were far more rich and delicious than we expected for a location picked on somewhat of a whim on a travel day, and we thought we would come back another night to experience more of the excellent cuisine. We came back on our last evening in Madrid to try to have a relaxing night with a bit more tapas and some drinks, and had a very different experience. We ordered two gin and tonics, in imperfect/completely awful Spanish I'm sure, and the waiter seemed somewhat confused but we were able to communicate and apologized (in Spanish) for our language issue when he returned with our correct drinks. We asked for menus (in perfect Spanish) and waited about 30 minutes for those while other tables received theirs and ordered food. A lovely part of Madrid is receiving a snack with your drinks in nearly all places- olives, boquerones, mánchego, tostas, jamón, etc. Here, we received gummy snacks in complete contrast to the ham dish we received the first day, and were the only table that had anything so absurd delivered to us. We could only take it as a mark as us being Americans as the rudeness continued throughout the evening, and never once was something like that delivered to our table before then. As Americans traveling in Spain, we have done our best with decent but imperfect Spanish in 4 cities over 17 days. We have had no issues and have been told on multiple occasions that we have done great with Spanish communications- whether gracious lies or truth is neither here nor there. We are fully aware we are visitors here and always try to be respectful, but this second experience with the rude waiter was too much to leave unmentioned. Let the gal working the first day run the night crowd, or teach this man some manners. Imperfect Spanish speakers beware of male waitstaff.

From the moment we walked in, the staff was beyond friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was vibrant, lively, and fun. I ordered the sangria, which was honestly the best I had in Madrid, while my mom enjoyed a lovely glass of wine. We started with the padrón peppers, burrata with tomato salsa, and patatas bravas -- every single dish was packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. For the main course, we had the beef with chimichurri and butter, and OMG... it was phenomenal. Everything was cooked perfectly, and all the flavors complemented each other so well. To finish the night, we shared the chocolate dessert and the "Love Chueca" cocktail, which was incredible and the perfect ending to an amazing meal. Couldn't recommend this restaurant enough. Amazing food, fantastic drinks, wonderful staff, and such a great atmosphere. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Madrid!
