The cocktail list is solid, and the beer selection is seriously impressive, packed with a great mix of local breweries and unique options. There's also a nice outdoor seating area, but honestly, the magic of this spot is at the bar. The atmosphere there really brings everything together. One of the coolest touches is the large display of vinyl records, it adds a ton of character and gives the whole place a unique, almost nostalgic energy. We didn't try the food this time since we just stopped in for drinks, but it's definitely on the list for next visit. Looking forward to coming back and spending more time enjoying this gem of a spot.

But the bartender was quick and the food, mac and cheese, came out in no time. The winter sangria was a serious drink. Not a punchy, fruity sangria. This was a winey sangria. It was a pretty serious drink. I'd probably get a weaker, sweeter drink next time, because that is my taste. The mac and cheese was pretty good. Quite hot! It came packed in this little bowl. I felt so cozy here... It made for one of my preferred eating out in the city in winter experiences.

The menu follows right along with their creative, seasonal, and whimsical creations. I was here was a very last minute planned birthday gathering after a series of unfortunate events leading up to my birthday kept planning from happening sooner. There were only 6 of us, but they still made sure the dinner was spectacular and special for my birthday. The food was phenomenal and I need a whole series to go over the plethora of wines, beers, mocktails, cocktails, and more they offer! Having a mocktails list for my bestie was just an added bonus on top of everything else! I can't wait to come back again and try more deliciousness! Open the door, follow the hallway labeled "The Bellwether" to the elevator, select floor 3, enjoy the experience!

The parking lot had spaces available. We walked in and there was an event space on the right and a large sofa and chairs against the back wall. Signs indicated where to go for Bellwether so we went around the windows showing the climbing wall to the elevator. Upstairs we were greeted promptly and asked if we wanted to sit inside or out. We opted for inside and she led us down one level to the second floor. I think the building is really cool, and the restaurant is well appointed, exposed brick, cool lantern hanging lamps, bookshelves filled with books and odds and ends, Waitress was friendly, there were only a couple of tables on the floor, but she wasn't intrusive and let us take out time. It filled up more by the time we left. The menu had several things I wanted to order but ended up deciding on the breakfast fried rice. We also ordered the cinnamon roll for the table. Coffee was hot and kept refilled, but it was just ok. The cinnamon roll was tasty. The fried rice was great and the fried egg on top was well cooked and tasty. One of our party ordered a side of sausage, it was four links and they were good, another ordered the pork belly sandwich and that was one of my other choices, I tried it and was impressed! I thought it would be too sweet, but it was perfect. Viewing the pictures of dinner, can't wait to go back for that and sitting outside!

I love the cocktail creations that include the Big O Liquor, this year I enjoyed the Back Breaker and the Big O-Spresso Martini. The Back Breaker was refreshing with the different fruit flavors and had a cute pineapple swizzle stick. The Big O-Spresso was very rich with lots of cream, yum Good Strangers was there proving Tiki inspired tacos, I tried both the chicken and the brisket and both were great but the chicken was the winner for me, that slaw was such a great addition! Order at the bar or with a waitress, everyone is having a great time decked out in Tiki gear and the bar full of lots of props. Always a good time!

The bartenders were awesome. We walked up to the bar and both bartenders got things rolling for us quickly. They have a really solid menu as well. They have some wildly unique cocktail options that blend dive bar ingredients with a craft cocktail approach. The vibes were great. The back patio was super nice and a great spot to just relax. I got a gimlet which was beautiful. Slightly tart, with just enough sweetness to balance it all out. There are not many things on this planet better than getting a damn good cocktail at a dive bar.

I guess once you've had big, it's hard to back to small. When we were done looking, my friend suggested we go get a Martini. If you know me, I'll never turn down a chance to enjoy a Martini. We hadn't been to The Royale in a while so we headed on over. We took seats at the bar and were quickly greeted by the bartender. He immediately had small refreshing glasses of water. After glancing over the Special Drink Menu, we both chose the Cold Brew Martini. It was made with 1220 Encrypted Vodka, Kaldi's Coffee Cold Brew, Giffard's Cafe Du Honduras, Giffard's Madagascar Vanilla and served up in a vintage glass. I love the glassware that The Royale uses. I hadn't eaten breakfast, so I looked at the food menu and ordered their Chips and Salsa. I had them add a side of guacamole for minimal fee. The chips are made in house and I was impressed with guac and salsa. For not being a Mexican restaurant, they were damn good. Especially the guacamole, it was so smooth and full of flavor. The bartender was friendly and we had good conversations with him and one of the waitresses. It was a warm and welcoming atmosphere, so I'll be back.
