Went to this location after several positive experiences with their new Kossow Rd location out in Waukesha. The food was pretty comparable to the other Casa Tequila, though it seems this chef likes to really drench your Super Nachos in cheese, which we didn't mind too much but eating nachos with a fork as a result was a little unusual. The service was attentive and pleasant, friendly and helpful, with more than one server checking on us a few times. The only drawback is that this location doesn't have any booths, and the ambience isn't as cozy as their other location in Waukesha. Maybe if they dimmed the lighting a bit, dropped some table lights down from the ceiling, added a few booths, it would make a difference, but it is a smaller footprint than the other Casa Tequila and you can tell. For that reason, we'd probably venture a few miles further to that location when we're in the mood for great Mexican food. read more

We had a wonderful server and the food was pretty good. It was my first time using a Groupon at this restaurant and we found out quickly you couldn't use more than one at a table, however it didn't state that in the fine print. Thankfully the manager understood and let us use more than one for our table! Thank you! What we were disappointed in was that the hostesses made comments to our group as we left, which was completely unnecessary. 5 months pregnant and about a quarter of the way through our dinner I suddenly felt ill and asked our waiter for the check in case we needed to leave abruptly. He replied "I cannot give you your check this early in your dining experience". My husband and I thought he was kidding and he replied "no, I will not give you your check. Casa Tequila policy" and he turned and walked away. What started as decent attention to our table turned into delayed service. When he finally did give us our bill, he came and cleared the table 2 times before he even picked up my card. Not an exaggeration to say it was the rudest service I have ever experienced. read more

WORST restaroun I have ever, ever been to. We weren't greated. We had to seat ourselves to a somewhat sticky table. Three people told us they were our server and never came back. We ordered drinks and received the quickly. We had to ask for our menus. We had to keeping asking for our drinks. We finally received our food, which was excellent by the way, our waiter came down our isle tapping tables without stopping asking if we needed anything. Another waiter had a wet ticket on his tray that he crummpuled u and put the ticket on the leage behind my husband. I had to ask another server to get me a box for my food and the check because I wanted to leave IMMEDIATELY! We were never were treated as a customers, we were treated like beggars. Great food every time. Always fresh & perfectly balanced margaritas that have plenty of tequila. Tonight had the pollo pablano (chicken breast stuffed with ricotta & spinach covered with a creamy pablano pepper sauce) served with grilled veggies & a potato Pancake. So delicious I couldn't stop eating long enough to snap a picture. Husband loves their chicken fajitas. 9 year old orders vegetarian rellenos every time with a huge taco. I used to be a big fan of Casa Tequila, but lately it has been mediocre. I used to go there with my parents religiously for the Taco Tuesdays special, as well as any other family special occasions. Then they changed the rules on taco Tuesday's, where you now have to buy an alcoholic drink to get the specials....that to me is ridiculous. My husband can't have any alcohol, and I don't drink 90% of the time, so now you are making me buy a drink?? Their customer service and portions have also gone down hill now. This is a disgusting excuse for a Mexican restaurant. To start, the customer service skills in that restaurant is the worst I've experience. The waitress was slow, she put in our food in late and she would take a long time to come back with drinks or anything we ordered. Second of all, the food is outrageous. It's over priced but has cheap quality. The steak is dry and full of fat. The soup tasted like flour and it was just disgusting. It's truly a sad excuse for a restaurant. Today I in the area so I thought a steak burrito sounded good. The place clean and nice looking with a cool bar on the side. The bar walls were made to look like an old Mexican town kind of thing. The place was kind of empty at 2:45 pm except for the bar which had three groups of people. The bar tender was struggling with two margaritas which were fish bowls on stems. These were big drinks and I don't drink them but I would get one if I went back. It's in a strip mall in a bigger mall but easy to find. Now the food and I ordered the burrito lunch special which comes with rice and beans. The food over all was OK and nothing out standing. The burrito has steak cut to the size of tick tacks which didn't have the chewy texture I wanted. The rice was plain and the beans were nothing exciting. Over all the food was kind of bland and didn't excite my taste buds. Not very authentic tasting with no cilantro or onion in the mix. I like the more authentic taste in Mexican food. The red salsa/sauce was hot or spicy and came in the tiniest plastic cup which lasted two bites. I did get this as carry out and ate it in the parking lot to fit in my lunch break. The food was Luke warm bordering on room temperature. The cermak food store taco/burrito station taste more authentic to me. I would have to say that out of all the Mexican restaurants we have been to in the Waukesha area, and there are many, this is the best overall. The service was fast, despite being full for the lunch hour, the food was excellent, the atmosphere was clean, colorful, and comfortable, and the staff were very nice. The prices were definitely reasonable as well. I had the lunch fajitas, which were excellent, and my co-worker had quesadilla, which he thought were very good as well. Great local Mexican place. It is in a strip mall so you have to look for it , but it. Is well worth it. We always have a pitcher of margaritas , no good Mexican dinner is right without them! The menu has all of the Mexican standards so they have pretty much have something for everyone. Service is prompt and friendly. And they have my favorite -fried ice cream!! I want to say they have a kids special but I'm not sure as we have never taken advantage of that. Definitely worth a trip out to pewaukee to come here. read more

I loved this place when it was Su Casa. I work nearby so I stop for lunch occasionally, and the food is decent. Nothing phenomenal, but not terrible. The drinks are strong, and priced fairly for what you get. The service is terrible, at best. It is usually decently busy when I go (between 11 and 1 during the week), and we were seated immediately, but the wait for a waiter to take a drink order...take a menu order...bring the bill....was atrocious. And not particularly friendly staff. An hour lunch break takes much longer, so its not the best place during the workday. read more

Ordered their guacamole, very plain and lacked flavor, no spice, no garlic, very disappointed. Their steak and chicken fajita had a bbq flavor, not Mexican at all. Gross. Formerly Su Casa III (same ownership just a name change), the menu is better-than-typical Mexican with several seafood dishes. I visit 1-2 times a month because it's easy in and easy out and priced right. Nice pub tables in the bar area with 3 large plasma t.v.s. Drink specials every night with prompt service and large portions. I stopped in on a Monday night and just ordered nachos and a margarita. The nacho portion was great and without asking the waitress brought out another margarita. The bill came and it was less than $10. I questioned why they charged me less than menu prices and she replied that it was 2-for-1 margarita night and since I was alone I should only be charged for a 1/2 order of nachos even though the platter was heaping. read more

We went with 14 other people as a birthday dinner. The menu looked appetizing and the atmosphere was what you would expect from a Mexican style restaurant. The food came and was rather luke warm. Cheese was not melted all the way (You can still see the shreds) and the taco did taste like boiled chicken.....that is it. The rest of the meal was ok. The drink selection was really good and from the response i got from our guests, the margaritas were pretty good. We never communicated that we had wanted our bills separated per guests nor did they offer it to us. bad on both our parts...but...the bill came and we asked if we can have it separated. The waitress told us to just pass the bill around and figure out what each party owed and they would take payment from each person. One member stated that some of us were going to pay by credit card but she said that was ok... I did go up to the waitress, out of customers' view of course, and explained to her that regardless of the lack of communication on both our parts this was not the answer. Pretty good lunch menu and all the lunch prices include a beverage (non-alcoholic). I usually have the burrito suizo at lunch for ~$8 (with drink). And the burrito is huge. I generally ask for extra chicken and half the time they throw it in for free. Plus you always get the chips and salsa for free even at lunch when you're dining alone. Good deal. read more

Went with a group of friends from work. I had never been there before, though some of the group had been. We started with drinks until everyone arrived and then ordered food. I didn't know what to expect but the food was excellent. This was a Friday night and it wasn't crowded when we arrived by was packed well before we left. Bartenders were filling orders for the wait staff at the other end of the bar and it took forever to get one of them come down to our end, but aside from that it was an excellent experience. read more

I've been here over a dozen times and if you would have asked me a year ago I would have given it 5 stars. The service is always very good, so are the drinks and table side guacamole but the entrees have really gone down hill. Almost no flavor, very little meat or chicken an the mild salsa tastes like thick ketchup. I don't know if they got a new chef or they just decided to cut corners? I live 2 blocks away so I really wanted it to stay as good as it used to be. I recommend if you sit at the bar on Tuesday you can get a good taco for $1, table side guacamole, and a margarita for an excellent value otherwise don't waste your money on an entree. read more

I have to admit, my husband and I do go to Casa Tequila about once per month because we live within a mile from it and enjoy their Happy Hour. I do wish they'd put effort out with their margaritas, though, as they're poured from a jug of pre-mix. It doesn't take a ton of effort to prepare fresh drinks (Conejita's has been doing fresh marg's for decades and they're still fabulous), even when a place is super busy. As food goes, it is only about a 2 out of 5 stars because I seriously question how "fresh" any of the fillings, sauces, or sides are anymore. A good bit of it seems to be prepared foods (can, bag, etc.) that's been "doctored". We do enjoy the tacos; but I agree with other reviews that it is often bland and the steak and pork is often VERY overcooked...to the point of dryness. We generally stick to chicken or ground beef here. I also agree that the service has slowed down considerably and the food quality has gone down a couple of notches over what it once was. Their table side guacamole used to be fantastic. Not so much anymore. In fact, you can only get that during dinner--if you order guac during lunch hours, it comes already made and chilled. Chilling guac tends to deaden the flavor. Speaking about the service, the degree of attention you get depends upon how busy it is. Once the restaurant gets 8-to-10 tables going, it seems attention falls away. A few long-time staffers still know how to handle many tables at a time without loss of service but the new servers don't seem to be trained in that. The prices have gone up, the menu has shrunk, and yet the attention to quality hasn't stepped up. Sad, really. It's a nice place with friendly staff. read more

So after I got my amassed bean taco, I asked them for the beef one instead and five minutes later they replaced my food with something that I wanted to eat. Excellent service and good food. This restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. The hostess is pleasant and the waitstaff is helpful if you have questions about the food. It's safer than going downtown for Mexican food. The carne Asada was very good. The steak is tender and flavorful. Shrimp enchiladas were good. The steak burrito was dry, and not as good as other Mexican restaurants around here. The margaritas are really good. They offer 2for 1 specials. We will definitely go back. read more

I really wanted to like this place. We even came three times thinking that it was just a bad night. Unfortunately, none of the three times were good.
