True five-star dining experience. I was here last night with a friend. They do valet parking, which was a huge plus. We didn't have a reservation, but were seated immediately upstairs. We were greeted and offered menus within moments. Neither of us were drinking alcohol, so we had a big bottle of San Pelegrino for the two of us. As a starter, we ordered a large pizza. It appeared in about 15 minutes. The moms made crust was thick around the edges. They didn't over do it with the sauce and it was really good. Then we ordered gnocchi. I had it it a red sauce and my friend had it in an Alfredo. Both were absolutely excellent. We were offered dessert and we had ice cream and a lemon tart. The lemon tart was huge and I could not finish it. The restaurant was busy, but not loud. We were never rushed. Our dinner lasted about 1 1/2 hours, which was just perfect. From the start when we arrived,everyone was so kind & inviting. We got the most amazing server Eduardo. The salad came in a made on-site bread basket. The truffle and mushroom ravioli will be something I eat every time I come back to Cancun. I was very impressed by every meal we had. Food was mediocre at best - Caesar salad greens were not chilled and the server had to Google the recipe tableside...disappointed to say the least. Warning - like many other restaurants in the area, the shrimp are not deveined - I couldn't eat any of it. Lot's of "smoke and mirrors" - but not worth it. We've had two excellent dinners here so far on our Cancun vacation. The staff is so friendly and kind, especially our server both nights, Eloy. We tried lots of dishes here; angel hair pasta, gnocchi, Margherita pizza, calamari fritto, fish of the day, and the tagliatelle with scallops. All were delicious! They served my daughter ice cream with a cup of yummy chocolate sauce--she loved pouring it over the top. The cocktails were the best of the trip. The passion fruit margarita was the cocktail of my dreams. I will miss those the most when we go home! Thanks for two excellent dinners and great service! read more

We have walked past here for years and finally stopped by for lunch. The building needs so work on the outside in the front and rear. This was the main reason for us not stopping in the past. The inside area was a huge departure and was upscale and comfortable. We were seated at a window table overlooking the bay and docks. Our meals were great and enjoyed the small salad bar option. We finally tried this restaurant and we are so glad we did. House bread was fantastic. We had the calamari and it was crispy, tender and fresh. I ordered a grilled shrimp dish with veggies and mashed potatoes. It was delicious and the shrimp was perfectly cooked. My husband ordered the lobster bisque and salad. Also very good. We dined on Father's Day and they gave my husband a chocolate hazelnut cigar with vanilla ice cream. It was a lovely finish to a delicious meal. I cannot express how impressed we were with the exceptional service from the wait staff. This place is a gem and we can't wait to go back. Excellent service and fabulous food! We usually spend way too much on these dinners but we were pleasantly surprised with the final check of $125 US for two people. We had two drinks each as well. We planned to sit on the the back deck because of the view, but when we got there it was too warm with the sun still shining on us. After a long day at the beach that was too much for us so we went to the bar and waited for the sun to recede further to the west. I appreciated how they were completely relaxed about our move and friendly. No stress and only smiles. The pasta was perfect and so was the garlic bread and soup. They also have free wifi which is awesome if you're like me and didn't enable data roaming while visiting. The place is really nice and easy to get to from the Ritz. Most of the clientele seemed local. This deserves 4.5 stars in food, service and location for sure. read more

My FAVORITE restaurant in Cancun. We went to Porfirios, allegedly one of their best, and we left after 30 minutes. This is a DELIGHT. Every time we went there we loved everything: the food, service, ambiance, etc. One time Senor Rolandi heard us talking and he thought we're Italians. A wonderful setting on the bay side of the Cancun hotel zone. The menu is a mix of traditional and non-traditional Italian dishes. As you would expect, the non-traditional dishes mostly have a Mexican twist to them. We had the barata appetizer, which was our favorite item of the evening. Stop by here for "Linner" and it was pretty empty but since it was a recommendation we had to try it. My wife loves fettuccine Alfredo so that was what she order while I had the thinly slice roast beef entree. Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken was flavorful but too creamy and maybe too much sauce. My wife said if the sauce was on the side she probably would have enjoyed it more. She liked my daughter's penne Rossini dish more. I enjoyed my medium cooked slice roast beef. We also had calamari which was good. The lobster bisque soup was excellent minus the over cook lobster. read more

Another fantastic meal here. Actually 2 meals. I'm a creature of habit and rarely change what i eat. However, the second trip to Casa Rolandi I tried the crispy pork dish. Out of this world good. Delicious crispy skin on the outside and meat that melted in your mouth. It was served with black beans, pickled onion relish and fresh tortillas. I about licked the plate clean. Service has improved tremendously. The Host remember me from the day before and greeted me warmly. That hasn't happen to many times over the last 10 years. I'm glad to see the change. read more

First the food. I started with lobster bisque, and it was absolutely delicious. For my entrée I had linguine and clams in a white wine sauce, and it was very good. I got a taste of a few other things at the table and also thought they tasted pretty good. The service was good for the most part, but I thought the food took a long time. For dessert I had the lemon merengue tart. I wouldn't recommend it. I did taste the crème brulee' which was probably about the best I've ever tasted. The ambiance of the place was ok. We did have other people at the table that were not satisfied with their meal. I think the language barrier may have had something to do with that. They have very specific dietary requirements with the way their meal needs to be prepared, and nothing was correct. so, I would say if you don't speak Spanish, and you want your meal a very particular way, don't go there. read more

Rolandi is a beautiful restaurant set on the lagoon. Ask for a table with a sunset view. The service is as wonderful as the food. We enjoyed a fantastic appetizer of thinly sliced raw octopus, entrees of duck ravioli and large grilled prawns, plus a superb dessert of almonds and marzipan. We loved watching the water as we ate. Everyone was very attentive. Rolandi is a special place. Make a reservation, especially for a special occasion. Definitely order the octopus appetizer. read more

Sat outside with a group of 10. Great view of the lagoon side of the hotel zone. Was not thrilled when the group decided on italian food while we are in mexico.... the food was exceptional. I had the gnocci, I was given a choice of 3 sauces and went with the four cheese. Everyone was pleased with what they are red and the dessert Mexican coffee was amazing to watch them make.
