But if you're seeking for an overall dining experience, this is the absolute best you're going to get. Let me start by saying that I'd like to consider myself as somewhat of an expert on food. I'm passionate about it and was raised in New York with exposure to so many cultures and cuisines. One thing in my 30 years that I've somehow skipped is Paella. I've had Peruvian, Cuban, Columbian, Puerto Rican, and many other Latin flavors, but never this. To top that off, my Colombian fiancé was raised on rice every day of her life and absolutely hates it. Have you ever seen a Latin girl hate rice? Furthermore, the drive to this place is 40 minutes from the center of Valencia and at the end of very run down farm houses. My take? This was, without a doubt, the best rice dish I've ever had in my life! My rice-hating fiancé rolled her eyes in food-gasmic fashion! Every bit was mmmm....ohhhh...oooh!!! Ok so the rice is about a centimeter above the pan. Very shallow. So you're getting this crispy, crunchy, and spongy mouthfeel. Then the flavor hits you. Not spicy in the slightest. It's fresh it's wonderful. A squeeze of lemon kicks it up a notch for me. There's Italian style green beans and artichokes in the mix. And the chicken...perfectly cooked and seasoned. We ordered the Paella Valencia which we were told is most traditional. You'll leave STUFFED and the cost is extremely reasonable at €16! Then, there's the view! Oh how heavenly! Sparkling water leading to lush mountains. There's a small private beach just outside where you won't deal with many people. I beg of you, if you're in Valencia do NOT miss this meal. I'm glad to have gotten it out of the way because I don't see myself eating it again for a very long time. It's not that the food was bad, but it's a lot. We shared the seafood paella and the traditional paella. I mostly had the seafood paella but I did try a few bites of the traditional one with rabbit and escargot. The seafood was fresh, and there was a healthy amount of prawns and squid. If you're not really into seafood or can't stand too much of the aroma or essence of seafood, do NOT get it because it is strong. After a while I got sick of the seafood flavor, which isn't a knock on the food, but a lesson that paella simply needs to be complemented with other foods. The traditional paella was quite good as well, and neither had rice that was too burnt (which I liked). I also didn't think the escargot and rabbit were particularly special. Again, portions were tremendous and I think we all left very, very full. Keep in mind that you need at least two people ordering paella in order to get it. It runs at about 18€ per person for any paella, which isn't on the low end, but you do get filled up since it's all rice.

We could only get two stools at the bar which might likely have suited a more romantic and younger couple. Despite this setback due to a previous day in-person last minute reservation the food and ambiance was excellent. Must say despite the frantic activity the staff were friendly, helpful and courteous. Our shared dishes were Grilled Sardines, Black Sausage (the best we've ever tasted), Cod Croquettes (nothing exceptional), Pimentos de Padron & Salad. The wine by the glass was good bit I'd skip the local region French style overly expensive Sauvignon Blanc and stick to Verdejo or other Spanish wines on offer.
