They charged me extra for a side of honey, and a side of milk for their water down cafe de olla. The cafe de olla taste like a dirty old pot of coffee. Idk what the chorizo plate was but it was literally all tomato sauce. We only came here because of tik tok

The Flor de calabaza paired very well with the tamal Tamal de barbacollita (8/10): also very tasty, but I did like the other tamal better. Loved the complimentary salsa. Tasted super fresh and flavorful. We got a hot chocolate, and that was great as well. Service was great. Restaurant interior is very nice.

The interior looked traditional and elegant with tables located in the patio area. It's not a flashy place with modern finishes but is a place that aims to do home-style cooking inspired by Oaxaca. GUACAMOLE ($265 MXN) - this came with three different kinds of avocados at different sizes which was interesting. Some were mashed but some were sliced and in chunks. For some of them we could even eat the skin of the avocados, and it was good. 4/5 CELEBRATION MOLE CHICKEN THIGH ($360) - the chicken was tender and the mole was not too sweet or bitter which is a problem I have with other ones. The mole was also only made from chiles which was unique. 4/5 OAXACAN NATIVE TOMATOES ($370) - this is their popular "tomato salad" which is a must-get. Some were sweet, some were more tart, and some I had never heard of before. Seriously, I had never had tomatoes taste like that and I didn't know they could taste like that. The beet puree complemented but didn't overpower the tomatoes either. You can order a half or full order; we ordered half which was good for two people. This was absolutely delicious and so unique! 5/5 FRIED QUESADILLA ($290) - this was labeled a quesadilla but it looked closer to an empanada. This was really good and I liked the butter that it came with. 4.5/5 Note that the menu is small and it's not a kid or pet friendly restaurant. Their menu contains a lot of ingredients that aren't substitutable so beware before you come here. The service was great and our server explained each of the dishes in detail. Even though it's located in the city it's very serene with none of the outside noise. We had a great dinner and a good time.

We got one 4 course tasting menu, ceviche, quail, , plantain dumpling , lovely dessert of fruit and tomatillo in a pear tomato sorbet . The sea bass was a large portion, thankfully , as we had to make up for the sorry ass quail leg. Good selection of wine and spirits w a full bar , and really lovely 2nd floor dining room , w windows overlooking the street. Comfortable pace and no pressure at all to vacate , all for about half of what is might cost at home, or less.

Street parking available on the streets that allow cars, otherwise you have to walk here. THE BLACK AND WHITE: The wife and I had a sunset reservation and it did not disappoint! Walking up to the rooftop did take a bit. There were around four flights of stairs but it was scenic with an open air staircase that peered down into the center of the building. For food and drinks we got water (of course), a oaxacan beer, a mocktail, bone marrow taco, and a mezcal to do a bone marrow shot. The oaxacan beer was delicious and the bone marrow taco was tiny but was presented beautifully. When you order a mezcal, they get you the good stuff and it's generally a sipper. I was a degenerate and luged my mezcal shot. It was a very good spirit to say the least. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall we spent around 900 MXN on our dinner meal. Beautiful rooftop views of Oaxaca City along with great food presentation and ambiance.

I asked my waiter which he recommend and ultimately went with the short rib with red mole. The red mole was delicious, I'm glad I got a side of tortillas to soak up the last of the mole. The short rib was cooked very well too. The roasted vegetables that came with the meat were delicious as well. It included carrots, corn, zucchini and cauliflower. The cauliflower was pretty bland but the rest of the vegetables were tasty. You must get the mole ice cream. Super unique and delicious. The dessert is served with a plantain and mole sauce as well as the ice cream. They serve complimentary tostadas, salsa and feta cheese. This was nothing special. The salsa was not very good and the feta cheese was an odd touch in my opinion. You can skip this is and save room for your entree and dessert. The inside of the restaurant is very elegant and nice. Mostly open air which I like.
