Great little school for young children that also has pre- and post-school daycare if needed. Our daughter thrives there.

All children attending child care deserve a positive, consistent, warm and nurturing educational environment. At Central Valley Child Care we strive to create a peaceful environment where children are encouraged to function independently, be respectful of themselves, others and the environment, and learn to make positive choices. Parent communication is a very important part of our work with children. Our teachers talk with parents daily about their child's progress and will always look to parents for insight and advice on how to best work with their child. Our CurriculumOur Preschool classes use The Creative Curriculum when planning our learning activities. Our classrooms are designed for independent learning opportunities. Curriculum is planned around the developmental needs and interests of the children enrolled in our Preschool. Children in our care will learn and grow socially, emotionally, physically, and academically through the structure of the environment, play and age appropriate learning activities. Our long term goal for each child is for them to be socially and academically ready for Kindergarten. Please visit our website by clicking the link above, or call us for more information!

Once the director in 2024 left everything was turned upside down. From the interim directors to the 14 different teachers that went through the infant room (new and existing employees) it was madness. It felt like they were trialing the new teachers in the infant room. Come to find out, a teacher walked out (from the infant room) and neglected all the babies until someone realized from hearing them crying (4-5 babies) and stepped in. If I had known how to report things like this to DCYF, I would have immediately. I even had a teacher (from a different age group who was actively caring for children when I arrived) follow me to the infant room and harass me about why I didn't respond to the photo they sent of an injury my child received under the direct care of that teacher. Not to mention for getting shamed by them for not wanting my kid to eat the trash food they provided. I know kitsap county has the WORST availability for daycare, please do not send your children here. I've also edited my review to add that there were many time where my child hadn't been fed or given a nap but they would complain that he was difficult those days because he was upset all day. I literally looked at them and said "I wonder why when he hasn't been fed on time or had any sleep". Once at pickup they even said "oh yea, hes hungry" because they noticed they missed his next bottle. I don't completelt blame the teachers because if their management had provided adequate support, this may not have happened. Check google reviews too!! Older children have escaped from an unlocked/broken fence gate and ended up in the street.

Adding onto this review they let new teachers in the room with children without having the basic…read morequalifications and not even knowing if they passed their background check which is extremely concerning

Ask about early child development. You have to go and get updated trainings on this and stay current. 3. This school has lots of field trip that would certainly be fun if they were more organized with informing to the parents sooner than the night before. This was something all the parents complained about. 4. I had a mom bump into me at a store telling me she felt bad for my son because the teacher was talking about him in-font of other parents. 5. Lacks professionalism and confidential conversations. 6: Not enough positive environment and I believe this might go back to the lack of early child development training. 7. High expectations for a four year old boy. 8. No posting of first aid and CPR training or food handlers permit BUT snack were given. What if a toddler begin to choke? We as parents should feel that our children are being safe environment once we drop them off. 9. Open lines of communication with the teacher shouldn't come across as being defensive. Several parents felt this way. Maybe it was just our son that they just didn't connect with or have the patients for but has parents this is the start to their little minds. This is our opinion as loving parents. We suggest to do your own research. Check out Sycamore Tree and Manette pre-school to see the needed skills based on Washington State board of Education.

I worked here so my review is more based on the employment side. Not the childcare aspect of it…read more I absolutely adored this job. I worked at previous day cares in my hometown and this one has been my favorite so far. The director (Ms Anna) and program manager (Ms Cassy) are some really amazing, kind hearted people. They always have the best interest of the kids in mind, you can tell they are really in it for the best reasons! There were tons of areas for me to grow and learn as a worker there. I was able to work with almost every age group (which was THE BEST part). The community of workers here was also my favorite part. Everyone who worked here while I did was exactly what I would want in a childcare for my child. Loving, caring people with the ability to teach and adapt to different children's learning styles. Easily one of the best jobs I have ever had!!

The teachers are wonderful and my son just adores Miss Crystal, so I say if my 3 year-old likes it then that's good enough for me! One thing that does bother me is that they don't have much of a web presence, so if you are looking for more information about them, here is what they have on their very hard to find website (http://chicocma.com/final1_013.htm) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chico Christian Childcare has been administering the Lord Jesus to children since 1974. In my child's previous schools, there was ALWAYS an open door and parents had an invite to come in and lead an activity or read a book basically whenever they wanted. You get one night every couple of months where only one parent allowed to come in after hours and see the classroom and learn about what your child is working on. Second red flag: Whenever I would come to pick up my child, the (very young) teachers were huddled together talking and planning their weekends together, periodically stopping to yell at the children from across the room or play ground, and then back to talking about the sushi they were gonna eat. Third red flag: It appears that they only hire very young people. When you pay a large monthly tuition, you expect teachers with some sort of experience of formal education. Only the head teachers are trained in Montessori and the assistant teachers are not. Fourth red flag: they charge out the butt for tuition yet teachers are not paid competitive wages. They are constantly cycling through different teachers, assuming because they aren't paying well enough. It seemed like every week I saw a new teacher there. Lastly, from talking with other parents, they had a 4 year old who was going rampant with biting. Their child was coming home with bites every single day. They showed me pictures and these were BAD bite marks, breaking skin and bruising:
