The worst part of my trip to Sintra was having to leave this beautiful hotel. My wife and I came here for part of our honeymoon and it was a magical place to stay while we explored Sintra. Charlotte, who runs the hotel was outgoing, nice, informative, and a pleasure during our stay. Check-in was super easy and getting to the hotel was quick from Sintra Train Station. It was a short, perhaps 4 Euro ride.
The hotel offers stunning views from many windows. Our room had a view of the Castle of the Moors, Pena Palace, and Quinta de Regaleira. I mean I was blown away. The rooms are gorgeous and we had the opportunity to stay in a large king bed bedroom that was spacious and super clean. The bed was super comfortable as was every other aspect of the hotel. There are other rooms to hang out in downstairs where we tried to catch a little bit of the World Cup.
You can order drinks as well, but we just had a little introductory Port as we arrived. The breakfast is very tasty and well worth the cost. We found cheaper in town, but it was not nearly as good or filling. The fresh squeezed orange juice is wonderful and the French press coffee was heaven.
Wifi worked well all through our stay and the water was hot. The shower was strong and the bathroom was clean. The hotel didn't need AC as all you need to do is open the windows and the fresh mountain air comes in and cools you down. The windows and high ceilings in our room were one of my favorite aspects of the hotel. I felt like royalty during my stay.
We checked out a little early our last day and the hotel staff kept our luggage for us while we did some last day exploring. The staff is super friendly and they take care to make you feel welcome.
Sintra was one of the highlights of our honeymoon and Casa Miradouro played a huge part in it. We felt wonderful every time we came back from exploring and could enjoy our down time. When I come back to Sintra I am going to stay here again as you should when you first visit. This is not a place to stay, but THE place to stay.
Thanks again, Charlotte. read more
