There is another indonesian food called bali thai in thai if you are interested in indonesian food. Got the sambal matah which is a balinese way of spicy. Love spicy food but didnt expect it to beat my level of spicyness. Nonetheless, the pork was so damnn good too though really recommend it. The chicken skin just made me have a nostalgic moment of my hometown. Even crisps wont be able to beat how the crispy chicken skin. Also, a meal wont be complete without teh botol so make sure you get it! Recommended! Cheers!

I have searched high and low for a good Indonesian fried rice and no avail until I found Peranakan Kitchen in New West. They're only doing take outs as they work from a commercial kitchen. They also take orders from UberEats and Skip the dishes (I think). Let me tell you about this fried rice, it was truly love at first bite. It was the right amount of spice, heat, and that noticeable fragrant from the wok-hei. I live in the North Shore, at least once a month I have to go to PK and order. Same goes with their fried noodles. It was amazing. The one that is unique and not to mention extra tasty is their deep fried pork rice bowl with Balinese sambal matah. It's a mix of shallots, chillies, lemongrass, and chiffonade makrut lime leaves. I am salivating just thinking about it as I am writing this. The staff are super friendly and warm. Can't wait to go back and eat! Thank you Peranakan Kitchen

They are pretty well known for their lobster laksa, which is $19 on its own. We ended getting the combo that included curry chicken rice, curry fish balls, roti, a soda and a milk tea for $39. The fish balls and curry chicken rice were pretty standard. The chicken has a slight spiciness to it. They do give plenty of rice. Now for the star attraction, the lobster laksa comes with a whole lobster tail. It's a pretty small lobster tail that was a bit salty. Certainly not the best lobster tail I've ever had, but at this price point it's rare to get a lobster tail. The laksa itself was quite good. Really like the soup, which as not super thick but it was creamy, sweet and flavorful. Noodles and the fish cake inside were decent. Overall, it's a good amount of food and decent deal for the price.

It came with 4 prawns, a small sliced boiled egg, some tofu(?) thingy and bean sprouts. The noodle consists of a mix of vermicelli and round noodles. The major disappointment was that the soup was neither thick nor flavorful. It was watery and as if the vendor cheaped out on adding a teeny bit more sauce. Also, the portion was not very generous. Usually when i order from other restaurants and vendors, the dish would come with other toppings such as fish balls and tofu puff, plus the portion was a bit more. This was my third time trying this vendor after a long time as i was also not impressed by previous visits. I don't think I'll ever go back again. This is more of a 2.5 stars experience.
