Let me first start out by saying that this is as far away from Mexican food as you can possibly get. I will say what we ordered was decent, but not fabulous and certainly not worth the price that we paid for it. They have done a lovely job in their decor, however, this restaurant caters to high-end diners who won't blink at a high check. We decided to go here for our anniversary because we have been looking for a good Mexican restaurant. The menu is very limited, only two pages which includes starters very pricey main course, and deserts. Nowhere on this menu do they list the price of cocktails. They put you in a position of not wanting to ask in fear of them thinking you can't afford to be there. We believe that the waitress should inform the customer at the very least of the price range of the cocktails so that they have a general idea. We ordered a margarita. We chose to have another margarita with dinner, we also ordered an appetizer of ceviche, and we ordered two of their pork prime rib dinners. You might be wondering how much we paid for all of this... when the bill came to the table, we were mortified. Our bill was $340. This included a 20% automatic gratuity which again we were not informed of prior to sitting down. they definitely think highly of themselves because they priced each of the margaritas at $25, $100 for four margaritas. They weren't large, they were normal size.I have seen automatic gratuities on parties of six or more, but not two people. On their receipt, they even had the audacity to ask for another 20% more for the waitress. To sum it up, food was OK, drinks were good, decor is lovely, but they're not going to make it in the tourist part of town with California prices. We will never be back. It was a sad way to celebrate our anniversary. read more
