Casa Mexicana is one of those places everyone seems to have a good word for. Whether it's birthdays, romantic meals or family gatherings, the feedback is invariably glowing. It's not hard to see why, either. The restaurant has a cosy feel with warm colours, exuberant aztec-inspired art and fairy lights draped everywhere. The food selection, as is customary of most Mexican restaurants, is relatively limited. Not necessarily a bad thing as it removes the agony of indecision. We opted for the 'ultimate' fajita, which arrived speedily, steaming and sizzling. Tasty and generously proportioned, it could have done with a little more of a chili kick to really impress. I can't say I was blown away by my personal eating experience. We were shoved round a side corner and no other tables in our area filled up, creating a slightly eerie atmosphere and sidelining us from all the action. The service was at times a little slow (probably to do with the location rather than waitresses, who were mostly upbeat and cheery). That said, I find there's a dearth of decent Latin American eating options in the UK, so it's great to see a Mexican restaurant earning the popularity it deserves. I can see why it's a good choice for larger parties as well - margaritas and interesting but still relatively basic food in a good atmosphere fit the bill precisely.

After around a quarter of a century of belly-bulging service to the community, Casa Mexicana has earned a fond spot in the hearts, not to mention the stomachs, of many, many Bristolians. The interior is bright and immediately engaging, managing to be, somewhat paradoxically, both chilled and vibrant at the same time. The feat is achieved by the cunning layout which means that although they can easily seat well over 100 punters, the interior is split into several small caverns, giving a certain intimacy to proceedings. On the food front, I nearly always opt for the fajitas (which are served to share), though not wanting to tempt fate, I would recommend chomping on chicken instead of the shark which is also on offer.

Having never tried proper Mexican food I was a bit wary when my partner dragged me along to try Casa Mexicana. I was pleasantly surprised that the food was neither too hot (so that I was able to enjoy it) and neither tasteless. Just perfect! Although I admit I was wary when I ordered, and my partner was not meaning his eyes were watering the entire meal! The service was lovely and friendly, as is the entire interior. It's well designed but maybe a tad garish. I did feel that it was slightly overpriced, however portion sizes are more than adequate so you won't be left thinking you wasted your money. As far as I could see there was no off road parking.

We ordered nearly identical burrito in a bowl/box meals and it was definitely the right choice. The boxes were packed with delicious ingredients. We also ordered a selection of chips and dips, which were all good but none of the sauces were really meant for dipping but made great additions to the boxes. Highlights included the amount of food for the price, as mentioned the box was stuffed. The quality of the ingredients and taste were great. On the flip side, provision of sour cream was anemic and the grilled veggies could've been a bit more charred. Additionally, maybe I'm missing something but I've never had cucumbers included as a grilled veggie but they were a fine addition. The sauces could've been a bit more robust for the price (with chips), and a cheese or nacho sauce would've been a welcome inclusion or side.  We'd happily order again.

To begin with, the pork was as dry as a bone, it felt like I was eating cotton. Costumer service was outrageous with little explanation to what we where eating or the prices of the food -We where paying restaurant prices for fast food quality. One of the servers even started arguing with her co-worker right in-front of us causing a massive scene which obviously made us quite uncomfortable. My colleague very politely asked for some tap water and the same women refused her this right. Not to mention the bathroom floor was soaking wet and there was no toilet paper at all !! The food lacked flavour and texture, it was just one big ball of mush...what a mess ! We left the venue feeling nauseous and not satisfied in the slightest. We do NOT recommend. Never going here ever again !!! P.s. if I could put 0 stars I would.

We had cocktails which were really nice, and they offer happy hour on certain drinks. After checking out the menu there was alot to choose from. We had a starters and main. The partner chose one main off the menu, after to be told they were out, and then after choosing another option the burrito, it came out but had a hair on the wrap and asked the waiter to take it back it. By the time they brought a new one out to us, I had finished my main already. They gave us some extra sweet pots fries for free. Which i must say were the best part !! we decided against dessert as we just wanted to get out by then. And as gesture of goodwill they removed the burrito off the menu. It was a shame we had this experience as the one in the centre of bristol was really nice. Maybe its just teething problems but i think they may need some more staff training. Sorry las iguanus :(

They have recently picked up and award for best sauce & ingredient at the Quality Food Award for their Organic Yellow Chilli Sauce. The restaurant offers a heavily discounted price you order between lunch and 6:30 which is really worth the money as the food is really good. There is a very nice dark mahogany wood layout inside and long benches outside so would be lovely if there is nice weather or a group of you. The service is with a smile, however I can imagine that if you were accustomed to Latin food, then Las Iguanas may not be as good as you hoped. For me, it was lovely though!
