If you're looking for a decent British take on traditional Cali-Mex dining, this is as good a place to start as you'll find. We ordered nearly identical burrito in a bowl/box meals and it was definitely the right choice. The boxes were packed with delicious ingredients. We also ordered a selection of chips and dips, which were all good but none of the sauces were really meant for dipping but made great additions to the boxes. Highlights included the amount of food for the price, as mentioned the box was stuffed. The quality of the ingredients and taste were great. On the flip side, provision of sour cream was anemic and the grilled veggies could've been a bit more charred. Additionally, maybe I'm missing something but I've never had cucumbers included as a grilled veggie but they were a fine addition. The sauces could've been a bit more robust for the price (with chips), and a cheese or nacho sauce would've been a welcome inclusion or side.  We'd happily order again. read more

Where do I even start. My colleague and I popped in here for a quick lunch break, and man where we disappointed, disgusted and distraught...The 3 D's. To begin with, the pork was as dry as a bone, it felt like I was eating cotton. Costumer service was outrageous with little explanation to what we where eating or the prices of the food -We where paying restaurant prices for fast food quality. One of the servers even started arguing with her co-worker right in-front of us causing a massive scene which obviously made us quite uncomfortable. My colleague very politely asked for some tap water and the same women refused her this right. Not to mention the bathroom floor was soaking wet and there was no toilet paper at all !! The food lacked flavour and texture, it was just one big ball of mush...what a mess ! We left the venue feeling nauseous and not satisfied in the slightest. We do NOT recommend. I had the double burrito after a heavy night and it definitely hit the spot. Huge, filling and tasty The one thing i'd mark in down on is that they don't put nearly enough soured cream in. Every other place I've visited in uses a squeeze bottle, whereas they dollop it in - meaning parts of the wrap can be a bit dry - you really notice it when you're having the double and triple. read more

Coming from America I have searched for a place that has great Mexican food! This place is it! On top of great food they have excellent service and even asked if I wanted to sample the meat. It's subway format will you tell them what to put in your burrito (or bowl) on top of all of this they have authentic Mexican drinks! Just found this little gem hidding away on Park St. Came in here for a to give it a try. If you after a family freindly fast food ish mexicanny meal then this is the place ! The ordering is the same process as subway where you customise your burriot or nachos or taco. Beef chicken or veggie options are available. I had the chillie beef burrito. And grande nachos in regular form. And trust me when I say this place is grrreat value for money. Mine was only 6 quid and I literally could not finish it ! What I did manage to get in my face was delicious. I also opted for the extra spicey sauce, which was not for the faint hearted ! They also do 4 bottles of corona for a tenner. Marvellous ay ! I noticed that they have a kids menu as well. A mini version burrito or taco for a quid !!! What a bloomin bargain. There were coloring in books and a very difficult maze to fill in which I actually struggles with. Oh and one lasy thing the guacamole is loverly. Get yer selves down here and rejoice. Arriba!! I used to love this place but as its popularity has risen the quality control seems to have gone out of the window. Ingredients seem to have been replace with cheaper versions. (Steak now gone replaced with shoulder) and the the portion size is erratic at best. Myself and a friend ordered the exact same order and one had twice as much meat as the other? Also the ability to construct a Burrito (fundamental you would have thought) seems to have also vacated the building. For a fast food joint the food is also not particularly fast either and when there is a queue. Expect to wait 15-20 minutes to get served on a Friday afternoon. not an issue if the end product is worth it. Shame as it used to be much better value and quality than the other Burrito shop down the road. It is still ok just no longer great. read more

I was skeptical. Would these English impostors actually know what a proper Mission burrito should taste like? Would their salsa be of the usual bland, El Paso variety? Would they try to insert mayo, somehow? Nope. This, half a world away, was a pretty good approximation of a mission Burrito. I got a veggie burrito and the roasted peppers/veg were actually better than most f'reals Mission burritos. The black beans were a bit runny and the rice was wrong--long grained and a bit oily -- but these were all nitpicks, to be sure. The extra hot salsa was actually pretty toasty, enough so that I took a few sips from my Corona in compensation. They have Negro Modelo too! Wow, so yeah--good Mission-style burritos in Bristol. I might never have to return home. I'd give an extra star if they'd start selling corn tortilla tacos, but I'm not holding my breath. read more

This is a very strange place but we couldn't fault the service at all. The portions are truly massive too. But keep away from the Mexican soft drinks, they contain 11 grams of sugar and it's just like drinking sugar water, disgusting. The problem we had was understanding what the servers were saying, not because of their accent it because of how quick they spoke and assumed we knew the format, which we did not. The menu was a it strange. Be prepared not have to eat for the rest of the day, when you eat here for lunch. So please ask them to slow down so you know what they are saying. Interesting concept. The staff were super attentive even the staff that were cleaning up asked if everything was okay. Oh and there's no way I could get my mouth around the size of the burritos, I need a knife and fork, but not easy when you just get a plastic basket to eat it in. Had tacos here the other day, having lived in San Francisco for the year, I was hoping it would live up to what you can get there whilst leaving a little room for differences because I didn't expect them to have everything. The carnitas was delicious and the medium and mild salsas are decent, they don't offer beans and rice in the tacos like you'd get in Chipotle in London but they still pack them out with meat quite well. You should definitely ask for the new corn tortilla tacos though. Flour tortillas and tacos just aren't as good. Would recommend! read more

This place has been open about a year now and it's definitely due a positive review. They're doing well at integrating plenty of authentic Mexican touches while staying just user friendly enough to tempt the mainstream. Meat fillings are delicious, salsas are a force to be reckoned with, black or pinto beans are both spot-on, guacamole is just like I make at home. My only complaint is that the food is not always as hot (temperature) as I would like it. I'm biased due to living in california where the burrito market is saturated with great options. That being said finding good burritos in the UK is not something most people expect, but mission burrito is worth a visit for that craving. Had the regular size burrito with carnitas. Carnitas was ok but not quite as flavorful as I would like. Got the medium salsa but it was not very noticeable and has to supplement with on table cholula, would recommend going for the hot salsa next time. The burrito ingredient distribution was not as even as I would like, there was a large line so the staff may have been a bit rushed, but a burrito is best if all the fillings are mixed around so that you don't get unexpected pockets of only one ingredient. It happened...I didn't think it would, I just didn't believe I'd find it, but I did! I finally found a delicious burrito! Sadly it was in Bristol! But this burrito was the perfect mix of flavour and tang...for just a moment, a brief sweet moment my taste buds were transported to my favourite burrito haven in America! I had the special of the month, Ancho Chile Beef, so I don't know if the spice made the difference or that this was just an awesome burrito (I plan to return to try other combinations....please don't disappoint!). My burrito was filled to the brim with goodness and each bit was almost a perfect mix of beans, meat, salsa, sour cream and cheese. My only criticism is that they could do a better job of spreading the ingredients across the burrito so that I have the same delicious experience from the first bite until the last...call me picky! As I finished the final bites of my burrito, savouring each morsel my heart sank with the realisation that this little slice of heaven cannot be recreated a little closer to home! While attending University of Bristol as an international student I was SO happy to find this restaurant nearby. I am from southern California and my palate loves Mexican food! I would pass by this place everyday walking to and from the university and would simply pop in for lunch or dinner on the go, when I didn't have time or felt like cooking.
