Great Mexican food , fresh tortillas made as needed , good salsa.. was very surprised on how well ran this restaurant is , I literally ate enough lunch to be content the rest of the day read more

The service was okay. Our waiter took a while to take our order and check in on us. When our food arrived it was cold. The stake was undercooked and raw, and the tortillas were microwaved and not cooked. We also ordered flautas which was just a huge plate of rice and beans and two taquitos. Our food was not up to our satisfaction. Will not becoming back. read more

Im updating my review as the person who was working in the bar area servicing customers is no longer responsible for that area and I've been getting great service in the bar area of recent. And the food is always delish, I recently had a shrimp in garlic dish that was off the charts!!! read more

One star as the food was decent. Horrible service. Inattentive waiter. Acted like he was put out for any request. Water? Chips? Was really put out by my request for an extra plate. Since he didn't understand you can't hand a scalding hot plate to a 3 year old. I would not eat here again, and I'm willing to bet the locals don't either. Was only passing through. read more

Honestly this used to be the best place but the last few times I've went, the food isn't all that great. I also went to share a burrito with my daughter and I only asked for ONE topping and when I got home, their was lots of hot sauce and onion and not even the topping I asked for. read more

Great family friendly atmosphere. Very clean and even the bathrooms are spotless. The prices are a little steep. The restaurant salsa is like no other!!! Perfect!! read more

All my employees really like this taqueria. I've had it many a times, and it's always delicious. Perhaps not the healthiest, but who cares when you gotta feed a working town of people just grinding. Truly it's a good burrito, ask for extra green and red sauce. So good. read more

I love coming to this deli when I am in town. It's literally so delicious. The produce is fresh and pricing is reasonable. They have so many vegetables that you can't get everywhere else. I LOVE their taqueria. The burritos are so good and sopes. I usually get a chicken burrito with everything on it plus lots of salsa roja. It's literally to die for. I can't find a burrito this good in the area. Even if you go to the restaurant, they don't make them the same. The taqueria is just something else. They also have yummy horchatas that DONT taste gritty or powdery. They are so smooth and flavorful. I love them. Can't wait to come back again. They are so helpful and carry a wide variety of fresh goods in the grocery section of the store, the taqueria is located in the back. The parking lot is pretty decent sized but it can get a little tight if they are busy. :) read more

Went to casa lupe the resturant not authentic mexican food, an over priced ,for poor service not good at all especially $5.00 for 1 taco ridiculous never again be advised the taco deli inside grocery store 10x better read more

Casa lupe has been and always will be the best resturant in Gridley. The food is delicious and consistent! I would highly recommend anyone to this Gem in gridley, especially out of towners. If you want a great meal, mexican or american, go to casa lupe! read more

You let me down casa lupe. I have been coming here since 2006 twice a month from yuba city and this time out of all was not great. The rice in my burrito was or has to be a day old maybe even burnt. I looked passed it and got desert 2 churros it was like a burnt rock. I asked for a refund on the churros and got it but did not get the tax back on them. Casa lupe you let me down, I have no reason anymore to drive any further then live oak ever again. My family will never return to your establishment. I wanted my children to love this experience of eating here but you just let me down. Nasty food is what I was served. read more

Delicious authentic Mexican food at a reasonable price. They have a small taco bar in the attached grocery store which is also good! Can't go wrong with good Mexican! A solid 4 stars. read more

Great food. By the way, I love all the Mexican food know it alls who say this isn't authentic Mexican food- the place is owned by a bunch of Mexicans, how much more authentic could it get!! read more

Alex our server was fantastic! Visited at 6:30pm on a Wednesday night. Our refills were lightening quick, our food was perfect. Alex was very attentive through out the meal even though it was busy. Will definitely visit again. read more

I've been coming to this restaurant for over twenty years. Even though I've had much better Mexican food in many places, this place is almost like "comfort food." Their burrito has nice big cubes of pork in it. Its certainly not high cuisine, but for the area its wonderful and inexpensive. My main reason for the 4-stars though is the salsa. Its fresh and chunky (not at all spicy) but what sets it apart is that they are the only place I've seen that puts celery in. It really gives the salsa a great flavor. If you're passing through, give it a try read more

At 9 months pregnant, I got food poisoning from my Carne asada burrito! I've heard locals tell me they've been ill from the food here before, but I thought it was just lies and rumors. Nope, it's true. I am terrified to eat here again, even though their food is DELICIOUS. read more

I think most Mexican restaurants could learn a lot from Casa Lupe. The father started this small business in the heart of downtown Gridley with very humble beginnings. Through the years the family has kept the same consistency. You always know the flavors and spices will be the same you had 20 years ago. Good job Casa Lupe for providing delicious food and excellent service for all these years! read more

Truly a Gridley staple. Best restaurant in town! Always consistent and the service is always exceptional. The chips and salsa are my all time fave. And ordering a Cadillac Margarita is a must. read more

We stopped here for lunch as we were told it was good. Not!! The food was bland overall, and the service was mediocre, the waitress seemed disinterested in doing her job. The salsa tasted like it had chili powder in it, we were not keen on that, I usually love salsa. There was a busboy who was nice. We sat and waited a while for our bill and a box for the leftovers ( to give the dog), the waitress was busy chatting with other staff, I finally caught the busboys attention and he brought a box over, then we got the bill about 5 mins later. When we were paying, the young woman asked "How was everything?", I asked if she wanted an honest reply or was she just being polite, she gave me a perplexed look. read more

Even though this is the original restaurant of the two, it is a pale comparison to it's Yuba City counter part.

Service was very good and the meal was good. Not the best I ever had but we all ate everything so that say's something. If ever in the area again I will certainly stop in again. read more

Fresh, Great Selections, Great Service....Family owned and Family Friendly. Great Location with plenty of parking. Inviting Decor and Marvelous Fish Tank...Perfect rice! read more

Took the family to Casa Lupé today. First I'd like to say that the salsa is excellent. I also requested the green and red sauce which were very flavorful yet with a little added heat but not burn your mouth off kind of of heat. We ordered a burito so large that it covered the entire plate. He stated that the burito tasted great and definitely filled him up. I had the fajitas. The flavor was good and the veggies were cooked well yet still a little crunchy, which is the way that I like it. Someone also ordered the Ole Burito and he like it as well. Lady and son had the chicken strips which were devoured. Areas of improvement... Tortilla on the Buritos could have been toasted to add a little crunchiness. The portion size of the fajitas was a little on the smaller side and they forgot the guacamole on the fajitas. Best thing by far was the salsa and chips. read more

Had dinner here recently while in Gridley for other business, as far as Mexican food, i was on par with chain Mexican restaurants. It wasn't great, but wasn't bad and I would bet it's fairly consistent. The margaratas were good and tasted fresh made. The chips and salsa were good. Chips not greasy and the salsa tasted homemade. I would recommend it. read more

We drive 50 miles just to eat at Casa Lupe. This restaurant has the best Mexican food hands down, and I go to buy their salsa just because it is the best salsa I've ever had. I've eaten Mexican food all over California and Texas, and Casa Lupe beats them all. Their hostess's aren't exactly what I would call "friendly"- they should probably hire nicer girls to run the front desk, but the rest of the staff are usually great. read more

I called in an order for pick - up...3 chicken tacos a la carte. I needed a simple and quick lunch. The tacos come with corn tortilla, lettuce, meat, and cheese. I went in 15 min later and the order was ready, but rang up for $16 dollars. I asked if she was serious??? She said that many people react in the same way. These tacos were certainly not worth $5.00 each. The tacos shells were deep fried too, which I didn't want, but I should have clarified that. There was maybe 2 oz of chicken. For that price I was severely disappointed. They weren't even that tasty. I will not be ordering from them again. read more

Have been eating at casa Lupe for over 30 years. We used to drive to Hamilton city then Chico now gridley fantastic food after all this time still order the same thing love the service and the chili verde is the bomb read more

Was at Casa Lupe tonight 12/04/2018 got there at 4:41 PM on our way home from Chico...live in Yuba City. Used to go here quite often..but tonights service with hardly anyone in the restaurant was next to horrible. I ordered a virgin Margarita, my husband ordered a regular one...got charged the same for both of them and mine without alcohol..I ordered coffee...had to wait for that and then got it in a dirty cup..service was slow at best...Waiting to leave, waitress said you can pay at the front...I said ...I did not get my bill yet...her response was...oh I forgot to give it to you. LAST TIME FOR ME HERE....was not impressed too much the last time, but given the many times we have stopped there was willing to give it another try. Had to give it a rating...did not want to even give it a 1 star Judy Reynolds PS...I do not see any responses from the owners to any of the reviews...I wonder why..and yes, the parking sucks as well. read more

Great food and great service my dad and me go here every once in awhile. Awesome memories made while being with family and friends.

I just wanted a chance to sincerely thank you for the excellent food, atmosphere and service on my visit to your establishment last Saturday evening. It was excellent experience with the exception that I mistakenly left my ATM/debit card there when I left that evening. I didn't realize my error until I was in the grocery store the next day. When I called on Monday to see if you had the card, the gentleman that answered the phone was very kind, efficient and helpful. He found my card and agreed to mail it to me as soon as possible. I received my card in the mail today and I just wanted to express my gratitude for the wonderful service at your restaurant and especially to the gentleman that returned my card. Service like this is all too rare these days and it's greatly appreciated. Please accept this $20 tip as a token of my appreciation. Jeff Schmidt read more

Everything is overpriced and just plan blah... The market however is great. Food is better in there and the meat section is good.

Everything we come through Gridley we stop and eat. Actually I start thinking about their tacos hours ahead of time. Great place to eat.

Last time I went there it was amazing, exquisite. This time I sent my shrimp back 3 times and they still didn't cook correctly.

Great Mexican food consistently good for over 20 years the best in Butte County try it you will agree

Quite well-done Mexican food. The decor and ambiance is nice and the service is very good and very fast. The Margaritas are okay, not great, not bad. The food is inexpensive and you leave the place telling yourself that you will definitely be back again. read more

Casa Lupe is really three parts together under one roof. There is a sit-down restaurant, a supermarket and a deli. The deli is completely amazing and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone! Their burritos are simply the best. The supermarket is also very good and I have found almost everything I have ever looked for (it has some items from Central America, but it is a Mexican market). The only reason this review isn't five stars is the restaurant. Even in a small town like Gridley, there are much better options for Mexican food. Whether you are looking for the best price, most authentic or best flavor, there is always a better choice. The only time I would accept to eat here is on someone else's tab. read more

This place was pretty good...food was good...the salsa was basically cut up veggies and it was gross in my opinion...i ask if they had different salsa and they brought out 2 more kinds....they were delicious the young lady who was our server was very nice.... this is what I hate about mexican restaurants that claim to be authentic. ..please make ur own tortillas. ..if u do not do this then u are not authentic in my book. This food was pretty good but tortillas were from the mission bag....over all good....not bad...and not outstanding. read more

Great food. Great prices. Love the chicken burritos and tortas. The people are always friendly and the food is always great.
